Prologue

(The nightmare)

As I opened my eyes, I found myself engulfed in darkness.

A thick, oppressive veil that seemed to suffocate the very air around me. Panic surged within me, clawing at my chest as I struggled to make sense of my surroundings.

There I was seated on the cold, hard floor, my nightgown clinging to my skin with a sheen of cold sweat.

My eyes darted around the gloomy space, searching for any sign of familiarity, but all I could see was the looming presence of an ominous door in the corner of the room.

It seemed to pulse with a malevolent energy, drawing my gaze like a moth to a flame.

I stared at the door, a sense of dread washed over me, sending shivers down my spine. Sweat dripped from my forehead, each droplet marking my gown with a chilling reminder of my fear.

Despite the warning bells ringing in my mind, I felt an irresistible pull towards the door. It was as if some unseen force was compelling me to approach, to uncover the secrets that lay beyond. . .

With hesitant steps,

I rose to my feet, feeling as if my own body was betraying me. My feet moved of their own accord, carrying me towards the dark brown wooden door.

I stood before the door. A voice in the back of my mind whispered a warning, urging me to turn back.

But my curiosity outweighed my fear, and I leaned forward, pressing my eye to the keyhole in a desperate attempt to glimpse of the truth.

What I saw sent a chill down my spine.

A monstrous wolf, its teeth bared in a sinister grin with his sole gold tooth to the side. His claw tore into the chest of the innocent lamb, its heart glowing brightly and purely were in his greedy clutches.

I gasped, his ears started to twitch.

In an instant his gaze was upon me, preying me, like I was the next target. I recoiled from the door. With a cry of terror, my legs instinctively triggered to run, and I fled into the darkness.

The sound of the wolf's snarls echoing in my ears as it gave chase.

I ran as if my life depended on it, stumbling over my own feet in my frantic attempt to escape.

But no matter how fast I ran, the wolf was always one step behind. And then, just as the wolf's claw was about to bear his clutches at my heart,I awoke with a gasp, my heart racing and my body drenched in sweat.

I blinked in confusion, my eyes adjusting to the familiar sight of my room and the comforting presence of my two roommates sleeping soundly.

"What a weird dream,"

I muttered to myself, shaking off the lingering sense of unease. With a sigh of relief, I dozed back to sleep like nothing happened.
