Chapter 17: Ghost of Justice?
A girl is running in a green and colorful forest.
With a fearful expression while looking behind.
She is holding her blue long dress skirt to run.
Her brown hair tied into a ponytail blows with the wind while she runs desperately.
She looks 14 years old, slim body, and white smooth skin.
And then there is a random strange guy with a lustful expression running behind her.
And then there is me a random ghost stalking the stalker in a green and colorful forest.
Currently, im behind some trees looking at this scene.
What the hell do I do?!
I could help her, but what if she is a murderer or did something really bad? I dont even know her.
This could be some kind of dirty play in this world too, I dont know their culture!
That girl is obviously underage though, but again I dont know what is underage in this world.
Dude! How introverts should do this kind of thing? if I save her and she turns to me like "I didnt ask for help" man, I swear im going to cry a lot.
Dont lie to yourself Ghost, you want to eat a soul without feeling bad about dont feeling bad about killing an innocent person.

I start to drow a bit while making a dumb smile.

Girl POV.
Despair is the only thing on her mind while she runs between trees and rocks.
Her legs are starting to fail her and every step is hurting.
The only thing giving her strength to continue is the image of what is going to happen if she stops.
Her village is being burned to the ground.
Her mother was raped in front of her.
Her father got his heart pierced by a sword trying to protect the village.
If she stops she will be used like a toy for the rest of her life.
But the world is cruel.
She ran with all she got but a rock got in the way and she tripped and fell.
The man put on a sinister smile while jumping on top of her.
The girl desperately tries to get out of the man's grip but it is in vain.
"Boss said that virgin kids sell more but I dont think you are a virgin right? That is what you going to tell him right?" Says the man licking his lips in lust
He holds the girl tight while trying to take off his pants.
A lonely tear falls from her eye while she tries her best to escape.
But suddenly, she looked to her left and saw a woman peeking from behind a tree.
She could see her body only a part of her dress hair and face.
The woman waves her right hand to the girl shyly.
"Hmm... do you need help?" Asks the woman shyly raising her voice a little
The man on top of the girl hears it and looks to his left.
A confused expression appears on the man's face.
"You escaped from the village too?" Says the man casually
The girl seeing a glimpse of hope screams.
"Yes yes! I need! please!" Screams the girl desperately
As soon as the girl said this, a piece of ice pierced through the man's ribs sending him flying to the left.
The woman was on the left but the ice came from the right and the girl couldnt understand what happened.
She put on a confused expression.
She looks to the right to see if she finds someone.
She looks to her left again, the woman is slowly getting out of behind a tree.
When she sees the woman, the girl's face goes pale.

Back to Ghost.

I slowly get out from behind the tree.
Going in the direction of the dying man on the ground.
Curiously, I feel like the ice is draining the man's soul alone.
I can see it with spiritual senses.
Wait if I let the ice drain his soul maybe I could drain the ice and still eat it?
I can only test.
I look at the girl with a shy expression, and I see that she is pale and scared.
Damn! she is a racist!
The girl summoned the courage to speak after looking at me for a few seconds.
"Are you a... monster?" Says the girl with a hint of fear
Argh... this is so awkward.
"Hmm... maybe?" I say shyly
The girl appears confused while getting up.
"I dont know what you are but you saved me, and for that, I will be eternally grateful" Says the girl with a formal tone while bowing down in appreciation
Wow! I thought that she would run from me.
Thats right! Be grateful!
I saved you from the goodness of my non-existent heart, I didnt do it just to eat this guy's soul!
Oh! Right, I need to answer.
"It is nothing really..." I say shyly trying to avoid eye contact
I really am a lost case trying to talk with people sigh...
The girl continues to look at me curiously and with a hint of fear.
I walk to the now corpse of the man taking out the ice spike from his ribs.
I use soul steal on it and his souls enter my body.
Well, the taste is better when stealing directly.
The ice spike disappears and bright blue lines start to appear on my wrist and hand.
"Hmm... there are more?" I say shyly

In a village that is burning, a group of people is forming a line while a man puts iron collars on their necks.
They all look fearful.
There are carriages with compartments to put people on.
Dead bodies are everywhere, and the smell of burning meat infects the village.
A tall man is looking while another man is putting collars on the people.
He has big muscles, black long hair, and slightly tanned skin.
His eyes are sharp and green-colored.
Wearing a belted red tunic with a chain mail shirt above it.
On his shoulders, there are iron pauldrons, and on his legs greaves alongside sabatons made from iron too.
He is holding a long sword, blood drips from it.

In a tree peeking at the village, a ghost and a little girl are looking.
Oh shit! that guy over there looks strong.
And his mana is concentrated in a few places I think that this is a warrior trait or something like warriors using magic to enhance their bodies.
His soul looks delicious, should I risk it?
Well, im already here and it would be awkward to just say to this girl right here like "Hey bye I thought I could handle it for sure but now im not sure so, adios!"
I cant do that! It would be so embarrassing.
I guess no risk no reward.
But there is something strange with those collars of iron I feel mana inside them.
Whatever I guess, time to eat!
"Hmm... I think that it is better if you stay here" I say in a shy and low voice
The girl looks at me with a confused look.
"Did you say something?" Says the girl
Argh... I hate this.
"You stay here!" I say slightly raising my voice with a hint of anger
The little girl flinches and agrees.
I float my way to the village.
I dont really want to fight them all heads-on, first of all, im a mage not like I will go around throwing punches.
At least that big guy, I cant fight five guys at the same time while fighting him too.
But they are all together there how should I divide them?
Oh! I had an idea.

The night is falling and the group of bandits is preparing to go away with everyone.
People got put into cages behind their carriages.
But something happened, they heard a voice.
A beautiful and soft voice came from the forest.
Singing a beautiful melody they had never heard anywhere.
The big man looks at his subordinates with a rage expression.
"You bunch of idiots! Someone saw us or it is a fugitive take care of it now!"
5 men rush into the forest with desperate looks, afraid of what their boss will do to them.
With swords drawn and looking everywhere.
One of them blows some wind with his mouth white wind comes out.
"Someone else is feeling this cold all of a sudden?" Ask one of them with a hint of tension
They all agree and continue to make their way toward the voice singing.
Now the song could be heard clearly.
they listened while slowly walking through the forest getting more tense.
🎶 This is the end
Hold your breath and count to ten
Feel the Earth move and then
Hear my heart burst again
For this is the end
I've drowned and dreamt this moment
So overdue, I owe them
Swept away, I'm stolen... 🎶
Getting louder and soon it was coming from everywhere in the forest.
These men didnt know what to do, cold sweat coming down from their foreheads and expression of fear.
Looking everywhere trying to see something.
Soon, one man ran away into the forest losing control of his emotions.
After him, they all start doing the same.
They ran in different directions but soon they started to fall one by one.
The last felt something behind him and when he looked, he saw nothing.
When he turns forward again, there is the face of a woman staring at him close to his face.
He tried to run but it was too late, a cold hand grabbed his neck.
And he felt his strength going away from his body.
The woman was looking at him with eyes wide open.
Her eyes are bright blue and her skin slightly glowing.
And then she sings while the man feels more and more without strength.
"🎶 Where you go, I go 🎶" Sang the woman with a soft and calm tone
The man cant think of anything and dont have the strength to put his weapon up.
A mix of fear and peace passes through the man's mind.
"🎶 What you see, I see 🎶"
Finally, the man loses consciousness and dies, leaving only an old and bony corpse on the ground.
