The Konoha village was supposed to erased by this powerful justu. However, when Pain opened up his eyes he was in the middle of the sea.
His indifferent face scanned his surroundings and noticed he was the only one there. He knew the justu he used would knock out the other five paths.
He lands on the ocean and questions, "I also don't see Konan."
She was the only person left of value in his life. His face might have remained calm, but he was really enraged in side. If he had enough Chakra he would erase the whole sea up.
"!"
He noticed something when he looked over to the ground. His rinnegan was still there, but the black piercings on his nose were gone.
"Am I in Yahiko's body?" He muttered to himself.
However, he could tell that for now his abilities were only limited to Deva path. Not only that, but a piece of him as Nagato was gone.
"So I have become Pain."
It wasn't hard to figure out, as his compassion for Konan wasn't that much, as Nagato had. That didn't matter, as his goes didn't change.
The world needs to know true pain.
That was all to it.
Even so,
"Just where am I?"
If he had died when he destroyed the Leaf, then this place would be the afterlife, but he could tell that wasn't the case at all.
He knows he was reborn, but where?
The sea in itself is weird. There is no wind at all.
He could walk to the next island, but flying would be easier. All he needs to do is wait for his Chakra to recover, and then he would show this world true pain.

However, a loud roar came from underneath the sea and the water started to rise up. Pain raised a brow at the way this world greeted him.
After a few seconds what stood before him was an enormous sea serpent. One of the thousand sea kings that are found in the calm belt.
He stepped a few inches back to make some distance and asked in a slightly flustered tone, "Is it a Summoning animal?"
He did think that, but this green creature was not that intelligent. It was more like the ones Animal path summoned. The only difference was that this guy acted on instinct, not orders.
"Your hunger doesn't even compare to what I have gone through."
The sea king didn't care. It needed to finish its prey before the others arrived. As one of the weakest, its food was being stolen lately.
Roar—!
Wide opening its mouth it charged at the man miraculous standing on water. At the moment Pain could only depend on his taijustu.
Jumping up from his position, Pain launched a dropkick on top of the sea serpent. However, his attack only enraged it in the process.
Roar—!
The sea king tossed the man off from its head. It quickly tried to attack him while he was still mid away.
Even though, the attack was a brave calculation on its part, the opponent managed to kick its jaw.
Pain landed on the ground as the sea king groaned. His rinnegan quickly noticed something on his leg.
It was blood.
He couldn't remember the last time this body got hurt. He was not knew to pain, but the part of Nagato in him made him feel enraged.
Yahiko's body was way too precious.
With frowned brows, he declares, "I will show you true pain."
He didn't care whether the creature before him was human or not. Everything looks the same in the eyes of a god.
Taking out a Chakra receiver he charged straight at it. The sea king did the same, it had to feed its belly.
Clang—!
A loud sound echoed in the air. The serpent's front fang clashed with the Chakra receiver. The water in the ocean cleared a bit from where there were standing.
However, the fang soon got broke into bits, and it didn't take a second for the Chakra receiver to stab its mouth.
Tru—!
Blood came gnashing out like a fountain, and Pain made more Chakra receivers. He needed to show it the true meaning of what pain feels like.
The monster didn't have time to scream, as it continued to be stabbed endlessly. After a few minutes it's blue eyes finally lost all life.
Pain stepped back. However, the moment the sea king few back into the sea, a cannon came flying towards his way.
Boom—!
Thanks to the ability of his rinnegan, he was able to block the attack. He then looked at the ship that had dared to attack him.
"Universal pull."
