Chapter 45: Chapter 45
"Jigokudō."
Cannons were flying over to Pain's direction. However, there were easily blocked, as he nailed the Chakra receiver into Momonga.
"Vice Admiral!!"
The Marines called out, but he didn't open his eyes and only got stabbed even more. They had already called for backup, but it was taking too long to arrive. It was only five minutes, even so it felt like a whole day has passed to them.
Boom—! Boom—!
They kept on firing the cannons. They couldn't get close to Pain, because he took out someone like Momonga without even trying. The Vice Admiral was someone who could defeat a sea king by himself.
Another minute passed and Momonga's body finally opened his eyes as Naraka Path (the one who can summon the king of hell).
He turned back to look at the Marines with his rippled purple eyes. The Marines noticed this and turned pale.
"Vice Admiral what happened to your eyes?" Marine D asked with a dull voice lacking any life, "Just what are all those piercing?"
"What have you done to our Vice Admiral!!!?" The Marine Captain let out a furious outcry, that made the water wave a bit.
Pain's voice spoke through Momonga, who was now Jigokudō, "The Vice Admiral has been enlightened by god, and has now become a part of me."
The Captain let out a few tears and cried out, "Everyone aim fire!! That man is no longer the Vice Admiral!! His body has been taken over by that god fruit user!!"
Damn those god fruits!! Their abilities were annoying as it could be. This one to control people was worse. However, that wasn't even enough to be called the tip of the iceberg.
Pain had more abilities in his arsenal than anyone else.
Naraka Path is for interrogation and restoration. Even so, the Vice Admiral's body was a gem that was built for fighting, he had to taste it out.
Swish—!
Unsheathing a sword felt natural with Momonga's body. Thanks to the rinnegan, the body could use Chakra now.
Boom—! Boom—!
Crack—!
The incoming cannonballs were sliced into tiny pieces, which made the Marines open up their mouths a bit.
'When did the Vice Admiral get that strong?'
They didn't have the pleasure to think that, as Jigokudō landed on their ship like a rocket.
Bang—!
"Your deaths is the starting point of bringing true peace to this world."
"Fire!!" The captain shouted.
Such words wouldn't come from the mouth of a respected Marine such as Momonga. This is also why the Marines didn't hesitate to shout.
Pew-! Pew-! Pew-!
Pain raised a brow at this new type of technology he was seeing for the first time. However, that was only it.
The rinnegan didn't make things slow down like the sharingan, but Jigokudō's could perfectly see where the bullets were going to hit.
He made a silent horizontal swing and cut them all in half. The Marines didn't have a second to drop their jaws as they kept on attacking.
Pew-! Pew-! Pew-!
Even though their attacks were relentless as they could be, they didn't even reach an inch close to hitting the Vice Admiral.
Seeing the bullets falling to the ground the captain body grew weaker. Dread had washed all over his existence.
Using a smoke screen was useless to someone with observation haki like Momonga.
A light bulb appeared on top of his head, as he just realized something.
'This is no longer the Vice Admiral! His will is already lost!'
He shouts, "Men use smoke bombs!"
Jigokudō muttered in an apathetic tone, "Play time is over."
Boom—!
Smoker covered the area he was standing. However, his eyes were the real Pain standing at sea.
Pew-! Pew-! Pew-!
He moved his sword to the right and made a horizontal slash going to the left, cutting all the bullets coming at him.
It was time to make this Mortals experience the true power of a god.
Cracking the ship's floor with his feet, Jigokudō charged at the Marines next to him. With the sound of cutting wind, he slit the throats of eight Marines at once.
Slam—!
The dead bodies fell to the ground, but he didn't have time to worry about it, as several cross swings cut the other Marines into chunks of meat.
"Ahhhh!" The captain screamed in fury.
He couldn't just stand by and watch the other Marines being butchered like that. Pulling out his sword, he rushed over to the body of his former boss.
"Ahh—!"
His war cry ended in half, as a single vertical slash separated his body into two. His blood dripped over to the ground, together with the two parts of his body.
Pew-! Pew-! Pew-!
The Marines had tears of fear and anger streaming down their faces, but they didn't stop attacking.
It was a futile attempt, that ended up turning the ship's surface into a pool of blood.
"Well done Jigokudō." Pain complimented, as he landed on the deck.
He didn't need to say that, as he was the one controlling the body. He just wanted to show how impressed he was with this body.
"It seems it can use this so called Haki."
Hijacking the Marine ship, the two set out for Thriller Bark. As anyone could guess it was really silent journey
