Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Vampire Territory

"Yes, great Bloodborn, Sommerfeld Eli is at your disposal." A respectful smile appeared on Eli's face, she did not expect this Blood Descendant to be so approachable, before arriving she had heard from many senior necromancer teachers that vampires were usually cold and unapproachable, and the older the vampire the more apathetic they were.

However, this blood descendant of the vampire king who had survived for a thousand years in front of her didn't have this feeling.

"You woke me up from my slumber, what is the matter?" Lyle steadied his mind as he tried his best to bring in the vampire's perspective.

Though this in front of him, though cute looking, one look at the skeletal goat staff in his hand told him that he was a mage who toyed with corpses and necromancy.

And necromancers in western fantasy and magical movies and television, that are not good.

As an ordinary person who had just crossed over, Lyle was well versed in the way to save his life, which was to try to keep a low profile and ask more questions and speak less.

"Great Bloodborn, heir to the Vampire King, the once noble Shadow Beings have suffered from the oppression of the Empire, and we desperately need your guidance." Eli hastily begged Lyle.

"Hmm, the Empire? " Lyle pondered slightly, pretending to be deep in thought, but in fact, he couldn't understand what the hell was going on with the empire at all.

"I'm sorry, great blood, I forgot that you have been asleep for a thousand years and do not understand about many things well." Izayoi froze for a moment, and then realized.

She tried her best to use the shortest words possible to give Lyle an overview of the changes that had taken place in the past thousand years.

Ever since the Vampire King established the Vampire Kingdom with great power a thousand years ago and unified the entire continent, in the hundreds of years since then, humans, elves, dwarves, orcs, and undead coexisted peacefully, and magic and civilization prospered together.

However, since the vampire king suddenly disappeared, leaving only hundreds of blood descendants to divide up the territories, without the constraints of the vampire king, the blood descendants instigated a war in order to fight for the territories, and ended up exhausting themselves instead, and those who weren't wiped out were also greatly weakened.

Seeing this, the other races rose up against the bloods and began their own rule.

One of them, the humans, continued to grow and built a powerful empire, conquering the four corners of the world with knights, religion, iron swords, and firearms.

The undead were especially hated by the empire, and were subjected to constant strikes and extermination, and the empire set off a holy army conquest to bring the remnant vampire territories into the palm of their hands, and now there were only a very few vampire territories left, which were still in the hands of the undead.

"Here now, the Great Fortress of Orr is your territory, and the final resting place of the shadow creatures." Eli sighed softly, the Necromancers were especially pitiful, once captured by the Empire, they would immediately be tied to the stake and burned to death.

In fact, most of the necromancers were also skilled medics, they only slightly utilized some dead bodies to replace damaged internal organs for the living, and occasionally resurrected some of the walking corpses as their own slaves, but in the eyes of the empire it became an unforgivable sin.

"I see." Lyle raised his eyebrows lightly after hearing Eli's words, not realizing that he actually had a territory of his own after crossing over to become a vampire.

Lyle's curiosity kicked in, and instinctively wanted to go see what his territory looked like, so he stepped out of the coffin.

When Lyle stood on the cold ground with his bare feet, he didn't feel any discomfort, instead, he was surprised at his bouncing power and the perfect lines of this strong flesh.

"Hmm."

While Lyle was feeling the condition of his own body in detail, the little loli Eli's cheeks were blushing and she hung her head down, not daring to look up.

"What's wrong? "Lyle frowned, lightly ruffled the tresses of his hair, and it was then that he realized that he was naked.

The sky was as black as ink, the whirlpools formed by lightning swirled endlessly, the air smelled of death, and from time to time there were snowy flakes of ashes fluttering around with the wind.

"This is too horrible and evil, isn't it? " Lyle, accompanied by the necromancer Eli, stood in front of the gate of the undead fortress, his eyes gazing lightly as he secretly spat in his heart. Above the crooked spire of the main fortress, a number of undead floated around the spire, which could be dead humans or animals, or even other forms of creatures. These undead all looked frail, but they exuded a disturbing power. They floated without purpose, as if waiting for something

"Great Bloodborn, this fortress was the last refuge of the Shadow Clan, but even this place is not safe now." Eli sighed softly, a worried look on his face.

"What's going on?" Lyle curiously glanced at his side, the little loli necromancer, and asked curiously.

"According to historical records, this fortress long ago was nothing more than a place for the Vampire Kingdom to study necromancy, so there are many treasures and spells left behind, and the great tomb outside the fortress has many inhabitants buried in it, and under the blowing of the dark magic, occasionally some skeletons and walking corpses would be resurrected and burrowed out from the ground." Eli raised his small hand and pointed to a clearing in the foreign northeast corner of the fortress, where there were indeed many tombstones, and between the densely covered tombstones, some shadows shifted in the shadows.

"Oh?" Lyle let out a soft sound, and looked back at the fortress again, his heart was slightly moved, wondering if he was considered a thief if he went in and searched.

"But those greedy and damned Imperial Knights and Mages, on the pretext of destroying evil, often run here to make trouble and indiscriminately smash things up." Eli clenched his small fists with a face of indignation.

Lyle slightly jawed, but in his heart, he knew what it meant to harbor evil, and there was nothing he could do about it.

"So, why haven't they completely destroyed this place?" Lyle thought for a moment and inquired to Eli.

"When this fortress was first established, it had the function of self-preservation, in the underground of the fortress there is a crystal that can absorb dark energy, as long as there is an intruder, then the crystal will catalyze the dark energy and automatically wake up a large number of sleeping skeletons and walkers in the fortress to yang stop those intruders." Eli explained to Lyle.

"If that's the case, then it's enough to protect itself, so why do you need to wake me up? " Lyle continued to inquire with some curiosity.

"Because, the invaders are getting stronger and stronger and can no longer be fought off with the fortress itself, we need your guidance, great Bloodborn, and this fortress and territory was originally owned by the Bloodborn." Eli blinked his long-lashed eyes at Lyle.

"Dumping? " was the word that popped into Lyle's head, but I'm afraid it wouldn't have occurred to him to think of the vampire lord still sleeping in the crypt if they hadn't been able to manage it on their own.
