Chapter 19: 19. Wand

Tom examined the cracked wand in his hand, stirring up complex emotions within him. Despite having made this wand with his own hands, it didn't instill confidence in him. Perhaps this wand was a reflection of his own uncertainties.

"This wand should have been my finest work," Tom thought. "I had said to myself, 'It should outshine even Ollivander's wands.' But now, looking at it, this wand reminds me of everything but that."

He thought of the wands he had used in the past. Those wands symbolized his power and determination. But now, the wand he had made himself didn't give him confidence. This situation created a kind of disappointment and longing within him.

"I miss the power of my old wands, my determination," Tom thought. "When I was Voldemort, those wands were my strongest weapons. But now, this wand doesn't give me that confidence."

Tom reminisced about his old wands with longing. They were a part of his successes and triumphs in the wizarding world. But now, the cracked wand in his hand made him question his past strong stance.

Perhaps making a new wand could give him back confidence and power. However, this time, the wand wouldn't just be a tool but also represent his connection to the past. With these mixed feelings, Tom began to open up to the idea of making a new wand.

"Maybe a new wand shouldn't just be a powerful weapon," Tom thought. "Like Ollivander's, it should have a story of its own. It should represent my past and give me strength."

After leaving his cracked wand at home, he considered ideas for earning money. Selling his car might seem logical since he probably wouldn't need it while in a tangible form, but there could be other alternatives. What mattered most to him was how the money was earned. While resorting to illegal means was possible, one must not forget that Tom was an honorable man. Even if he didn't repay his debts, there was no possibility of Dr. Cullen harming him.

As it was the middle of winter, snow was falling outside. He decided to go out to get some elderwood from the forest. Walking quietly in the snow, he got lost in his thoughts.

"This wand could be a new beginning for me," Tom thought. "When I was Voldemort, the memory of my powerful wands will always live within me. But now, I must chart a new path. Perhaps this wand could be a symbol of a new beginning."

After leaving his cracked wand at home and taking his spare wand with him, he thought about his ideas for making money. It might be logical to sell his car because while tangible, he probably wouldn't be using the car. However, he wouldn't rush to sell his car; there might be other ways to get the money he needed. Since it was the middle of winter and snow was falling outside, he decided to go out and get some elderwood from the forest. He needed it to make a spare wand.

After preparing himself with warm clothes, he headed outside. The outside was very quiet, which was soothing for him because he could listen to himself. Actually, he could easily get the elderwoods by materializing next to them, but walking in the snow made him feel good. After walking quietly for a long time, he came to an elderwood.

When he wanted to take a piece of the tree, he saw that the tree was sick. A wand made from a sick tree could cause unpredictable things.

He continued to search for another elderwood. After wandering for a long time, he finally found an elderwood. When he aimed his wand at a branch of the tree and waved it, the branch was cut smoothly.

The cut branch was falling towards him, and he aimed his wand at the falling branch and cast the 'wingardium leviosa' spell. The tree branch fell to the ground. After materializing the tree branch in his hand, he was back home. A few hours later, he had made two more spare wands.

Although he didn't use all of his magical power, the wands I made couldn't withstand my magical power for a long time. Because the elderwoods I found were not at least a thousand years old like the ones used in the wands made by Ollivander, the trees I found were younger than 500 years old, so my wands were more fragile than normal.

Even though I didn't use all of my magical power, the wand I made didn't last long. I put one of the two wands I made in my inner pocket in case something happened to my current wand.

Tom had successfully found elderwood in the forest to make his new wands and completed his spare wands within a few hours. However, he still had doubts about relying on the wands he had made.

Compared to the durability of wands made by Ollivander with his expertise and the materials he used, the trees Tom used were younger and therefore less durable. Arriving home filled with these thoughts, Tom carefully examined the wands he had made in his room. Initially, he seemed satisfied, but deep down, he wasn't sure how powerful his wands were.

Perhaps he should find a sturdier material. As he spoke to himself with these thoughts, Alice's face suddenly appeared in his mind. He used to encounter her frequently at school, but why hadn't he seen her at all after leaving his job? This thought began to bother Tom.

Why couldn't he stop thinking about Alice? Tom sat quietly in his room for a while longer with these complex thoughts swirling in his mind. Then, setting aside the wands he had made, he left his room and headed towards the living room.

Perhaps he wanted to go out for a while to clear his mind. While sitting in the living room, he picked up a book from his library and started reading. However, he couldn't distract himself from his thoughts. He began to question why Alice couldn't get out of his mind. This strange attraction he felt towards her stirred up different emotions within Tom.

After some time, he closed his book, and his eyes began to droop from tiredness. He lay down in bed and drifted into deep thoughts for a long time. As he tried to understand why Alice couldn't get out of his mind, he continued to question the power of his new wands. As his eyes slowly closed, Tom fell asleep with complex emotions swirling within him. However, his thoughts wouldn't leave him alone for a while longer.
