Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Jon Hammond

Upon hearing this warning again, Maverick covered his head somewhat speechlessly and said, "This is really damn annoying. It's already hard enough to accept having a bomb in your head, and now the bomb's safety has been pulled."

Venom patted Maverick's shoulder reassuringly and said, "Relax, even though the situation is not ideal, it's not that bad yet. So, in the future, you still need to maintain a good attitude, don't get too excited, especially angry."

"First, calm your emotions and spirit, and then try to control it. Otherwise, even if your body is getting stronger, it still won't be able to keep up with the potential speed of your mental breakdown."

"So, take advantage of the fact that your body is gradually getting stronger and try to control your mental power well. This may even push your body's growth rate to become faster."

"In short, while controlling your emotions, explore well and try to control your mental power as soon as possible. After all, our exciting life has just begun, and I don't want it to end before we've gone far."

Maverick thought Venom's advice was good. In order not to die young, he decided to try some methods to control his mind, such as meditation or breathing exercises.

Originally, he thought Venom's talk about yoga was a bit far-fetched, but after searching, he found that these were the only things available now.

After all, he could only think of so much for now, and he could only try by himself through books and the internet.

"Sigh, still don't know Jon Hammond's information and address, otherwise, I would have just gone and finished him off, and everything would be over," Maverick sighed to Venom.

Venom also said, "Yeah, and it's been two days now, he must have realized that his brother is dead, making it even harder."

"Two days have passed already! Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Maverick exclaimed, jumping up from the bed. He hadn't realized he had been unconscious for two days.

Venom shrugged helplessly, "You didn't ask me, and there were too many things to say just now, so I forgot all at once."

Maverick sighed, holding his head, "This is even more troublesome now. He must have already started investigating."

"Definitely, after all, it's already been reported in the news," Venom added after hearing Maverick's words.

"The police said they've never seen such cruel and inhumane methods of murder before. They even named the unknown suspect, which is you, the 'Bomber,' because the scene looked like someone was blown apart without leaving any clues."

"But this name doesn't sound good at all. What's with 'Bomber'? It's too basic, just like 'Bomb Man,' lacking any depth. In my opinion, these people have no creativity or depth at all."

Whether it's because of being attached to Peter Parker before, Venom's words are often plentiful, especially when he starts to criticize things.

Listening to Venom's news and criticism, Maverick felt numb. It seems like everyone already knows about this incident, so as long as Harvey Hammond isn't blind or deaf, he'll definitely know.

The plan has been disrupted again. No, his plan doesn't seem to have been disrupted in the first place, and a new one hasn't been formulated yet.

Headache. What should he do?

°°°

In a villa on the outskirts of New York, a man in his forties with blond hair is sitting on the sofa with his eyes closed, seemingly meditating.

His short golden hair is a bit messy, and his beard seems like it hasn't been groomed for a few days, giving him a slightly disheveled look. However, even so, you can still see the handsome and resolute face he possesses.

This man is Jon Hammond, Harvey Hammond's brother. He has a completely different temperament from the tall and burly Harvey, exuding an air of dignity and authority.

This sense of authority is fully displayed at this moment because there are many people standing behind and beside him, but they all remain silent with tightly closed lips.

Finally, this low-pressure silence is broken by the sound of footsteps gradually approaching.

*Dud, dud, dud.*

The sound of leather shoes stepping on the floor echoed crisply as a man stopped beside Jon Hammond.

He was dressed in a well-fitted black suit, his chestnut hair meticulously styled with gel, and beneath his gold-rimmed glasses, a pair of blue eyes looked mature and steady.

"Boss, there has been no progress in the police investigation. The person left no traces. However, I've obtained some information from within your brother's organization," the man said.

"This information may seem insignificant at first glance, but I feel it might be related to this incident because there have been no other anomalies besides this."

"This is the report I've compiled," he said as he handed a paper report to Jon Hammond.

Jon Hammond slowly opened his eyes upon hearing the man's words. His blue eyes were bloodshot, filled with exhaustion and suppressed anger and frustration.

As he sat up straight again, an invisible aura of authority radiated from him, silencing everyone in the hall.

They all knew their boss had been extremely irritable these past few days, leading to dozens of unfortunate souls losing their lives. They definitely didn't want to be the next.

Jon Hammond straightened his posture, took the information from the man, and began flipping through it, sipping from the glass of wine beside him.

"So, Harvey instructed his men to handle a college student who delivered takeout a few days before the incident," he said.

"And this student seems to still be alive, but my brother is dead."

Jon Hammond's voice was flat, to the point of being terrifying. The man standing next to him pushed his glasses up and added an explanation.

"The key point is that your brother delegated this task to his subordinate, Paul Mark, who then assigned it to someone specializing in such activities, a man named Rick Frey."

"He orchestrated a car accident, but the delivery guy was lucky enough to survive. After that, both Rick Frey and Paul Mark went missing. Their friends and other subordinates couldn't reach them until two days ago when your brother was unfortunately killed."

"From this series of events, it's reasonable to conclude that the delivery guy is involved in these incidents one way or another. If he didn't do it, he must know something. Otherwise, these events wouldn't have been so coincidental."

"If he did it, it's likely for revenge, because although he didn't die in the car accident, an old man did. That old man had raised him for several years."
