Chapter 34: Cultivating!?
The rest of the meeting was a information release on the Orc Lord and his skills plus the general abilities the Lord granted to the other Orcs. Rimuru was surprised by the powers it bestowed, understanding that 200,000 Orcs were constantly eating and adapting to new genetic codes that were beneficial to them. Attrition wouldn't work. From there it was some law on Demon Lords and some small details surrounding the capabilities of the Dryads in the fight.
Treyni had offered to summon some Treants for the conflict as well as some background logistic support. Rimuru accepted because of the scale of the combat and the risk that we would all be taking. At least, that is what he was thinking about, i could tell from looking at his face. All he realistically needed to do was kill the Orc Lord and the rest of the Orcs would surrender. The Orcs were important to Tempest's future as they would contribute a fuck ton of labour and construction work.
"Rimuru, Instead of going for a protracted battle, cut the head off of the snake... I do not believe the Orcs are doing this because they wish to. They are most likely influenced by the Orc Lord's Skills and are thus following the skill's nature." Treyni, Benimaru and Rimuru looked at me and nodded a little in thought. Benimaru turned to Rimuru soon after my little suggestion.
"She is right. We can't afford to defeat all 200,000 Orcs... Even if we are powerful in comparison to them they will spread out like a blight and eat anything and everything in their way. Taking care of the Orc Lord would be the most logical and expedient answer to our problems."
Rimuru put his right hand to his chin as Treyni sipped at her tea, her agreement coming in the form of a small smile. I didn't really pay much attention after that. The most I picked up was that Rimuru was going to take the Orc Lord mano a mano and wished for us to fight the big dumb army. Benimaru smiled wickedly at that exact order, a small black and white flame sparking at the tips of his horns. He was getting way too into this.
From there the meeting was ended after finding out that the Orcs would reach the Lizards in three days. We would apparently be heading out tomorrow, Souei had secured the alliance between the Lizardmen and our Village, saving Gabiru who had gotten trapped against an Orc General; most of his men having been injured. Honestly Gabiru was okay after the whole rebellion incident in the anime but he wasted many of his people's lives and destroyed all trust and faith that his father had in him. It was better this way because I could whip him into line, alongside Hakuro. 'Hehehehe...'
Feeling that small spark of evil inside of me I set off back home, Shuna by my side. We didn't really speak much and just held hands as we walked. The season was slowly creeping towards winter so the wind was starting to chill and become a tad bit harrowing. Shuna stepped closer to me for warmth as I summoned a small flame for the both of us. I was very comfortable with this, my relationship. It wasn't too intense but it was also very warm and fulfilling. We hadn't done the 'deed' yet but it was only a matter of time...
In a matter of minutes we reached my house, the warm interior lighting and rather vibrant colours of the wood it was made out of bringing a heat to the soul that screamed, I'm home. Stepping into the house we took off our boots and left them to the side of the door, the Japanese tradition starting to rub off on me a little. Shuna was super happy and stretched as we entered, grabbing her hair and tying it up in a ponytail as she turned towards me.
"What do you want for dinner Silviana?" I smiled at the missed innuendo I could have made but moved on from there with a cool head.
"I'll eat whatever you make, it's all delicious." A small blushing grin spread across her face as she turned quickly and made for the kitchen. She mumbled some words before she disappeared further into the house. I followed after but diverged towards the main living space, finding nothing but books and a fireplace. TV didn't exist and Games were rather bleak in this world. I could have asked Rimuru to make some Manga for me but I wasn't exactly the type to read and eat. Ignoring the sensation of boredom that swept over me I sat down on the couch opposite the fireplace, sitting down in a lotus position.
The position looked uncomfortable to do but as I did it there was something about it that seemed comfortable and right. The Chinese cultivation novels were usually full of bullshit regarding young masters and their lackeys but it seemed some things may have been correct. Along that same train of though I considered the black magicules that I had seen when I first got my dragon-eye amulet. Chinese cultivation stories always had the main character gather Qi from their environs and circulate it in certain patterns around the body, effectively connecting oneself to the 'Heavens and Earth'. I didn't believe most of that shit but I figured that It wouldn't hurt to treat these black magicules in the same way.
Closing my eyes I extended my senses outwards and created the image of those same magicules that i saw this morning. The image in my mind was very vivid, the small Magicule spinning on its x axis as black light spewed outwards before arcing back into the small particle. As that image circulated I extended my own Magicules and created the image of my mouth breathing in, a suction force pulling the Magicule into my body.
Then, as if I had finally taken a breath after coming out from below water, adrenaline and energy permeated my being.

I was stunned that I gained stats like this, I was used to getting it daily not this quickly... 'What if I could do this all day?' I tried another round but instead spread out my own Magicules further and generating the image of multiple black Magicules being swept into my mouth. Another bout of energy fluctuated throughout my body, specifically centred on my mind.

'Damn! This shit is good!'
'Wait... What if I focus on certain parts of my body and create the image of the Magicules flowing to there?' I attempted it and soon found that my hypothesis was correct, in fact, I gained more when I focused on a certain part of my body than I did by just consuming the magicules.

I ignored the Super Speed Unique Skill and started to continue my Cultivation, changing the areas I was focussing on. At one moment I focused on my muscles, then my Brain, my Heart, my Stomach.

Right as I felt like I should continue Shuna came in and set down a plate of sautéed beef with a lovely looking mash potato. I salivated just at the sight and immediately lost and will I had to continue. Cultivation could wait whilst I enjoyed my time with Shuna...
'What if Shuna could do it too?' The thought made me shiver in excitement but I started to eat, talking to Shuna and having a dinner 'date' with her. She was super excited for us to be alone finally and have this moment together. I had to admit, so was I...
