Chapter 7: DCGB EP 07 - Got grimoires, Meet Arrogant protagonist

Yuji: then , Let's start with the first volume so we can get a better grasp of things.

Frieren: Is this a manga? Wow, it's amazing!

Frieren: that grimoire is like a wand! It seems to serve as a medium for using magic and even enhances the power of magic!!

Stunk: Wow, it's that impressive, huh?

Stunk: Well, count me in too. But just to be clear, I swing swords, not spells.

Yuji: All right, agreed. Shall we go together then? If it goes according to the manga I sent, you might gain some magica after completing the mission.

Maomao: If that's the case, then I'm in !!

Frieren: That sounds great! I also want to go.

Stunk: Okay then, Frieren. Letting Maomao go might be a good option since she just a regular doctor. Plus, if it's as Yuji said, Yuji should be the only one who knows how to get the mission done.

Frieren: That's right.

Yuji: No problem, Frieren. After the mission is over, we'll be able to teleport to that world, but it'll cost points, haha.

Frieren: Hmm, I don't have many points to spare.

Stunk: From what I've found, it seems we can teleport to the world of the chat group members as well. Plus, the points required are reasonable.

Yuji: That's cool, Frieren. Since you're a mage, can you teach me some of your magic after the mission?

Frieren: I can, but I won't teach you for free.

Yuji: No worries, I'll pay as usual. But what will I pay with?

Frieren: Magic scrolls.

Yuji: ugh, I don't have magic scrolls. Can I pay with chat group points instead?

Frieren: yes.

Yuji: @ Frieren Excellent. @MaoMao, get ready. In another 30 minutes, let's come back and accept the mission together.

MaoMao: Understood. But I'm always ready because I'm about to hit the hay now.

Yuji: Okay.

Yuji closed the chat group and pondered about what to prepare. He then turned and walked to the convenience store to buy food and drinks for the journey. He bought so much that the staff looked at him, wondering if he was serious. Afterward, he quickly left the store with bags full of food and drinks he purchased before heading back to his apartment.

When he arrived at his apartment, he unlocked the door and entered without hesitation. He laid out all the food and drinks he bought in the kitchen before going back to the convenience store to buy as much food as he could carry back to his apartment. He repeated this process four times until there was only 100,000 yen left in his wallet. After preparing his provisions, he quickly opened the chat group store to find essential items for the journey.

"Where is it..." Yuji muttered as he looked through the store's listings. His eyes then fixated on one item.

The item was a black ring that looked ordinary, but from the product description, it was clear that it wasn't an ordinary item because it was a dimensional ring. Yes, it was a dimensional ring capable of storing many items. This particular dimensional ring had a capacity of 20 square meters, equivalent to a small room. Although it wasn't very large, it could store a considerable amount of items.

Dimensional Ring (Black) - 50 pts

He didn't expect it to be this cheap. Perhaps it was because it only had one function. It was indeed cheap compared to other spells and abilities.

After obtaining the ring, Yuji stuffed all the food into the ring before grabbing two or three spare sets of clothes to put into the ring as well, thinking it would be better to have them on hand. The only thing left was money. In the "Black Clover" world, there was no way to use yen. So, he went to pick up four gold bars hidden in a large case under his bed.

"I've got everything I need," Yuji thought before opening the chat group and sending a message.

Yuji: @Maomao, I'm ready.

Maomao: I'm ready anytime.

Yuji: "Let's go."

As soon as Yuji sent the message, he accepted the mission and disappeared from this world, enveloped in a bright light.

--

When he opened his eyes, he found himself in a forest full of dense trees. As he turned to the side, he saw a Maomao is a flat-chested, petite girl who is both scrawny and short and has freckles on her face. She has dark green hair and purple eyes ,wearing simple clothes and avoiding makeup save for freckles she paints around her nose, which made him think she might be Maomao, a member of the chat group who had come to do the mission with him. He then spoke up.

"Are you Maomao?" Yuji spoke as he looked at MaoMao's figure before thinking, 'Quite flat, huh?'

"And you must be Yuji-sama, but please, don't look at me like that," she said with an annoyed look.

"Uh, sorry for zoning out a bit," Yuji said with an awkward smile, admitting that it had become a habit for him to stare at a girl's chest when he met them for the first time.

"Anyway, first things first, let's explore the area together," Yuji said before looking around and then walking straight in one direction.

"Let's go," Yuji said with a wave of his hand, calling Maomao to come along.

The atmosphere in the forest left Maomao feeling bewildered as she trailed behind Yuji, trying to make sense of the situation.

"Hey, Maomao ,are you the healer?" Yuji asked, leading the way through the dense trees.

"Yeah, that's me. Healing and antidotes are my thing," Maoao replied, keeping pace with Yuji.

"So, how are you feeling now?" Yuji questioned, curious about any changes Maomao might have noticed since they entered this world of magic.

"I can sense something, like a strange energy entering me," Maomao explained, feeling the subtle influx of magical power, though she couldn't quite grasp its nature.

"That's good. Just let it flow," Yuji encouraged, offering a reassuring smile. "That's magic."

"Magic?! Like, shooting fireballs from hand?" MaoMao exclaimed, her eyes lighting up with excitement at the thought.

"Well, it depends on what you can do, but yeah, magic is pretty amazing," Yuji explained, nodding in agreement.

"Wow, that's incredible," Maomao said, feeling a newfound sense of wonder at the idea of wielding magical abilities.

"Look, we've arrived at the Grimoire Tower!" Yuji exclaimed excitedly, his gaze fixed on the Grimoire Tower ahead. "Soon, you'll discover what you're capable of."

"Mhmm," Maomao replied, feeling pleased that she would soon unlock her magic.

With determination, they hurried towards Grimoire Tower, noticing a crowd of people converging in that direction.

Once inside, they beheld numerous children, their hopeful faces turned towards the countless books lining the shelves of the Guild Hall. Among them, Yuji spotted two figures whom he presumed were the central characters of this world.

The first was a young man of short stature. He has green eyes and messy, ash blond hair with bangs in front of his forehead and a single strand protruding upwards from the center of his head. He wore a plain-white tunic with a V-shaped collar underneath a dark blue jacket whose sleeves extend only up to his elbows. He sports a pair of matching shorts which has a stitch marks on the left side. Perched on his head was a small bird with black .The second boy was young man of average height with messy black hair, gold eyes and he has a lean build.. He wore a black shirt and brown pants.

"That's it! I'm going to be the Wizard King!" exclaimed Ashta.

"No, I will be the Wizard King, not you. " retorted Yuno, his tone defiant.

Yuji couldn't help but chuckle at their banter, finding it amusing to witness their spirited exchange in person.

And then...

"Welcome, young men and women" greeted an elderly mage, presumably the master of the Grimoire Tower.

"I wish you Faith, Hope and Love."

"I am the master of this Grimoire Tower" he announced.

"Now it is time for..."

"The Awarding of the grimoires!"

As he finished speaking, numerous books on the shelves began to glow brightly, floating towards each of the teenagers and hovering in front of them. Each book was a grimoire, except for...

"Um my grimoire's not coming" Asta remarked as he stood in a kneeling position, extending his hand in anticipation of the grimoire's arrival.

Everyone looked at Asta with confusion. The master of this Grimoire Tower intervened with a nervous chuckle, "Uh... Try again next year."

Laughter erupted among the crowd as they realized Asta would have to wait until next year to receive his grimoire.

But suddenly, a glowing book floated directly in front of Yuno, adorned with the symbol of a four-leaf clover.

Everyone stared at Yuno's grimoire in astonishment.

"It's... the legendary Four-Leaf Clover grimoire."

"The same grimoire that the first wizard king received."

"The grimoire that contains 'Good Luck'!!"

After Yuno received the Four-Leaf Clover grimoire, excitement filled the air. However, among the crowd, there were some who were not pleased with Yuno's fortune.

"That darned poor orphan...!!"

"This has got tobe a mistake!!"

"Just like in a manga! That guy is the real protagonist," Yugi thought to himself before turning to see Asta. Despite not receiving a grimoire, Asta's determination to become the Wizard King remained unwavering...

*flash

In front of Yuji, a bright light suddenly appeared, accompanied by the appearance of a white grimoire adorned with the emblem of a four-leaf clover, just like the grimoire of the first Wizard King. When he touched this grimoire, some information flowed into his mind. He discovered that all the magic he possessed was connected to this grimoire. It seemed he hadn't received any new magic after all.

As Yuji gazed at his own grimoire, the people around him were shocked to see that two individuals had received the coveted Four-Leaf Clover grimoires. But what surprised them the most was...

"That grimoire looks just like the one from the first Wizard King." the master of the Grimoire Tower, while people around him discussed.

"Who is that guy?"

"Judging from his attire, he's not from our kingdom."

"How is it possible that outsider got a Four-Leaf Clover grimoire?"

Then, Yuji turned to look at Maomao, only to find that she had also received a grimoire. However, her grimoire was dark green, with a three-leaf clover emblem surrounded by intricate vine patterns on the cover. Judging from Maoamo's grimoire, Yuji speculated that her magic might be related to plants.

"What about you, Maomao? Did you get any magic?" Yugi asked, watching as Maomao summoned plants onto her hand before responding, "I seem to have gained the ability to control plants."

Amidst the excitement, the master of the Grimoire Tower who oversaw the grimoire ceremony observed the discussions surrounding Yuji and Maomao before addressing them, "Well, the grimoire ceremony is over. You all can go your separate ways now. But you two stay. I have something to discuss."

After the master of the Grimoire Tower finished speaking, the crowd dispersed. It was a common occurrence for Yuji and Maomao to be called in such situations, as they were not natives of this kingdom.

Yuji and Maoamo followed the master of the Grimoire Tower to a room within the Grimoire Tower before settling down at the sofa inside. the master of the Grimoire Tower then spoke up, "Firstly, let's introduce ourselves."

"I'm Drouot, the master of the Grimoire Tower of this area" Drouot said with a smile, gently stroked his beard.

"I'm Hoshino Yui," Yugi introduced himself. "And I'm Maomao," Maomao added, hugging her grimoire.

"And where do you two come from? I've never seen your faces before, and your dress doesn't seem to match that of Clover Kingdom residents," Drouot inquired, his curiosity piqued.

"We're just travelers from a country located across the sea," Yuji replied earnestly.
