Chapter 8: 8| Pissing off an Alpha Lycan is In My Bucket List

The Alpha Lycan in front of me was sending off waves of anger and I could literally feel it. Some things were better left unsaid. Too bad I only realized that after I said them. Was I a stupid moron for annoying an Alpha Lycan?

Probably. Then again, I never said I was wise. But seriously, if I was gonna die today, I might as well have some fun. Pissing off an Alpha and a Lycan was on my bucket list, anyway. I could cross off both now.

He took a deep breath, as if trying to calm himself down. I raised an eyebrow at that.

'Someone seems to have an endless amount of patience.'

His eyes glassed over for a moment, indicating that he was mind linking someone. I was actually very surprised when I got a good look at him. I had to admit; he was the most handsome Lycan I had ever met.

The first thing that caught my attention was his icy blue eyes that were speckled with gold and seemed to pierce one's soul. His deep black hair with a tint of violet and accents of silver shined in the sunlight, giving him a heavenly halo. A straight nose and thin pink lips that were just perfect.

Flawless pale skin that looked ice cold to the touch looked refreshing, even in the summer heat.

He looked perfect for an art reference.

But that was not all of what caught my attention. His face it was blank! I couldn't read him at all! I never expected a Lycan, let alone an Alpha at that to have such a good poker face. The only time he reacted was when I provoked him. And even then it was nothing more than him gritting his teeth and taking a deep breath.

All the Lycans were volatile, and he just seemed so… collected. There was something off about him and it honestly made me want to run the other way.

"Ash," He said hesitantly. Like he was testing out my name.

"I'm not sure if that's your real name but, I'll let you go immediately when you answer my questions. If you answer them of your own volition, I'll even make sure that no harm comes to you." He wasn't lying.

His heart never skipped a beat. That much was sure. But that doesn't mean I was gonna answer him. I just looked at him, trying to memorize that amazing face of his so that I could draw it later.

"I give you my word," He adds after noticing my lack of response. Well, not a please but definitely good as one since that guaranteed that I could actually live to see tomorrow. If Jared, the son of my pack's Alpha, didn't get to me first. Probably wouldn't happen since I had a solid escape plan. I tilted my head in confusion.

Why was he being so nice to me? No, scratch that. Why was he treating me like a normal person even after knowing that I was an omega? I shook my head. I didn't want to get into that. I was just going to take what I got without questions.

I still couldn't read him, but I could see that he truly meant what he said. I mulled over his offer. It was not like I really had a choice here.

"You said when," I pointed out dumbly. He raised an eyebrow.

"Does that mean you will use, erm… other methods to attain the information if I refuse?" I asked with wide eyes. He just gave me a look that said what-else-did-you-expect-I'm-an-alpha. My eyes widened even further, if that's possible.

Shit. I didn't want to go through the kind of torture that Alphas used. I didn't even want to think about that stuff. Nope.

"You don't need an answer to that question, as I can see that you have already made your decision." His eyes look amused, but it vanished as soon as it came.

"Just keep in mind that I'll get my answers, no matter what. It's up to you to choose which way." The alpha looked at me closely, slightly squinting as he said those words.

"Don't even think about lying to me." He added.

"I don't even know what lying means." He glared at me and turned to walk away. Daniel, his brother and the other Lycan started to follow him. Eh? Did they just expect me to follow them to wherever the hell they were going?

I was not going to follow four guys, all of them more powerful than me, to a secluded place. Just how stupid did they think I was? Danny sensed my hesitation as he walked back to me while the rest of them walked away.

"Hey Ash, I know you're sceptical, but Alpha Zak would never harm a woman. Trust me on that one." I sighed in relief, noting that he was not lying.

"Unless you lie, then he'll hand you over to our chief warrior. She's the one who takes care of the unruly members in our pack," He added as an afterthought. I glared at him.

"That doesn't really reassure me, you know," I said, glaring at him accusingly. He chuckled.

"Then you just have to make sure that you don't lie. So… are you coming or not? It won't be really hard to track you if you decide to run." I gaped at him as he walked.

"Seriously dude, if that's how you people ask for answers, I don't want to know what you do to people who refuse you," I said, shaking my head and walking after him.

"Oh, wait. I actually do want to know. Do you think your Alpha or your big brother would tell me?" I asked curiously.

"Are you serious right now?"

"I'm dead serious." He looked at me weirdly, and then burst out laughing.

"What?" I asked, annoyed at him for laughing at me.

"No, it's just that–" He broke off into fits of laughter again, trying to stifle them as we neared a door. People stared at us curiously. I noticed that the number of people decreased with each step we took. The number of people was already low, and the few Alphas vanished as soon as 'Alpha Zak' appeared.

"Just what?"

He gave me an amused glance.

"It's just that I can actually see you discussing and exchanging ideas about the best way to torture people over tea with Darren and Alpha Zak, and it's just funny."

"Make that over hot chocolate, and it just might come true."
