Chapter 1: Chapter 1 - Snow Mountain

Once upon a time, in the snowy storms of Lumar, there lived a divine dragon known as 'Winter'. A group of heavenly people founded their city in Winter's mountains. The people were divided into eight groups, each representing a different trait, ranging from innocence to lust. The city had its rulers, and Winter soon realized that he was losing power to these outsiders. Instead of going to war, Winter decided to take the shape of a human, as pure as sunlight and as beautiful as the most precious flower and settled in the city. Winter was accepted by the rulers and met the generals, most of whom were driven by pride and wrath. Winter did not judge those who possessed pride but was rather impressed. After exploring the city and meeting those driven by lust and greed, Winter found a small dragon child and took him in, naming him Haku to resemble the purity within him. Winter raised and cared for Haku, granting him immortality for years. As Haku reached the age of 4310, Winter had to let him go.

In present times, Winter sat at the altar, with candles lighting up his face like pure rays of sunshine that danced on his pearly white skin. Winter blew out the candle, a light waft of smoke filling his nostrils as he breathed it in. A sudden knock snapped Winter out of his trance, he turned his head towards the noise, wondering who it was. In the door stood Haku, the now adult Winter had taken in to live with him as his own. ''Winter,'' Haku spoke, his voice an irritating interruption of Winter's solitude. ''The other dragons have arrived,'' Haku added, gesturing towards the town with one hand. Winter followed Haku's movements, his eyes landing on the visible commotion outside. ''I see... I'll have to welcome them, no?'' Winter replied while getting up, giving the alter a short glance as he walked out the door, Haku following behind him.

Outside, in the middle of town, a few dragons had gathered up, all in their human-like forms. These dragons all seemed to serve each 'sin.' One was a child dressed in green, all glammed up with the most expensive gems... that must be the dragon resembling greed. The others were similarly dressed to fit their so-called 'sin.' This child stepped forward, seeming to recognize Winter. ''There you are! I was starting to think you weren't going to welcome us.'' The child-like dragon spoke, igniting a short huff from Winter. ''How could I not? I have not seen you for hundreds of years, Vamara.'' Winter replied, calmly speaking to this Vamara as a respected individual.

Vamara, despite the look, seemed to be well over a hundred years old. ''Come, I'll show you to your temple,'' Winter told Vamara who eagerly followed, excited to see those who praised him. Winter stopped in front of a temple decorated with riches and strings, he held his hand out, gesturing to the temple. ''Huh... not bad, I guess this temple is worthy of being mine,'' Vamara commented and stepped inside, admiring the countless offerings that decorated the already shiny interior with gold and gems. Winter turned to leave as he left Vamara in the temple. ''Hm, I suppose I should divide the rest,'' Winter spoke to himself, looking at the remaining 6 dragons doing different things to pass the time.

After dividing the remaining 6 which were... Valentino, the red dragon, for the sin: lust. Ehert, the black dragon, for the sin: wrath. Rya, the blue cloud dragon, for the sin: sloth. Arath, the purple dragon, for the sin: Envy. Elysia, the yellow dragon, for the sin: Gluttony. And last but not least, Lynx, the sky dragon, for the sin: pride. Winter had finished his daily duty. He returned to his temple, followed by his apprentice, Haku.

As they returned to Winter's temple, a shadow portal appeared. Out stepped a black rider who had their head held high. ''Winter, I came to warn you. An approaching danger has made its way into the mountains, one that you will find to be... quite unexpected.'' The black rider spoke, alarming Winter of the approaching danger. Winter shook his head, seeming to think otherwise. ''You might think that's true, that there's just trouble ahead... well, you're wrong,'' Winter replied, walking right past the black rider who couldn't understand Winter's immediate refusal. ''These mountains are all divided to keep danger from reaching its heart,'' Winter added once more as he turned towards the black knight. ''My apologies, but I need you to make sure no harm reaches the mountain's heart. No matter how safe you think it is.'' The black rider spoke again, this time leaving no room for questioning.

And with that being said, Winter knew he had no choice. After the black rider left, Winter set out to find the meaning of this danger and just who would bring it.
