Chapter 2: Chapter 1

Lasiya jolt up from the bed. Her body succumbing to the sudden movement. Her heart beats vigorously. She inhales and exhales again and again, trying to catch her breath.

What was that?" She thought to herself. Every line between blurred. A minute ago she felt pain through out her face. Her body succumbing and numbing to the poison in her system.

Sevverl's laughing sound still echoed in her ears. Her body is sweating profusely. Was it just a nightmare? She asked herself but there's no answer.

She put her palm om her forehead. Her head chilled from the sweat and chilled wind coming from the open window. At that minute, she realized it was already morning.

The sun blazed through the window, the golden light hitting her face. She let out a deep sigh and let her body fell to the bed.

She gazed at the ceiling. The sky blue paint mixed with the golden light looked majestic.

There is a knock on the door. Lasiya holds her head up to look at the closed door.

"Good morning, miss Lasiya." The maid called out to her, seeking permission.

"Yes, come in." Lasiya sighed again and drags her body up.

She moved to the edge of bed. Her feet touched the cool floor. Her foot fingers twitched.

"Did you had a good night's sleep?" The maid smiled at Lasiya.

Lasiya gasped. The words. It felt she had heard already. The maid walked toward the dressing table.

Lasiya gaze followed the maid, not even taking time to blink. Her eyes starts to burn but she couldn't dare to blink. As if she blink, the maid would dissappear.

The maid turned toward Lasiya while her right hand tried to reach something.

The perfume? Lasiya thought as if she already knew it. Her pupils dilated.

"Um— Miss?" The maid looked confused.

As she reached the perfume bottle and tried to hold it in her palms, the perfume bottle slipped from her hand.

The bottle shattered on the floor. The pieces tattered around the place. Lasiya's body locked. What in the world is happening? Why my brain remembers it like it had already happened once? That wasn't a dream then?

She inhales deeply but felt like the oxygen didn't reached her lungs. Cool. Its just a coincidence. If its true, she will have her palm cut by the glass. Her eyes followed the maid's hand movement.

Just like she predicted, the maid's hand cut the glass piece. The maid hissed, blood burst from the wound.

"It's f*cking happened..." Lasiya whispered.

The maid looked up, confusion on her face. "Yes?"

Lasiya's lips twitched up, lighting up a smile on her face.

"I'm back— Hyra, what day is it today?" Lasiya asked.

"Um... 19th July?" It was a question but not a question. Its a way of showing her confusion.

"The year?" Lasiya asked.

"343..." Hyra replied.

Lasiya pulled the drawer near her bed sight and pulled a ointment and a bandage from it. She tossed it to Hyra.

Hyra watched it and looked up at Lasiya. Lasiya stands up while laughing.

The pain on her hand wasn't a big thing from the maddening laugh of Lasiya.

"Are you alright, miss"

"I'm perfectly alright, Hyra."

Since my death happened two years from this day, I still have time to change everything.

Lasiya walked through the corridor. Her long dress dragging on the floor. She looked majestic in the black and gold gown-like-dress.

"The emperor is here." The guards choruses together.

Lasiya dragged herself to the side. Sevverl walked toward her with the guards following behind. Lasiya holds her breath.

The sarcastic laugh of Sevverl ringing in her ears. The heartbeat raises in the presence of Sevverl.

Once she held love in her heart for him. Looking at him made her the happiest in the earth.

But now, all she could feel was dread in her heart. The heart feeling void instead of love. She gazed at him. The line between past and now mixing together. Lasiya remembered the last moments with him.

She tastes the smell of his boot in her mouth.

Just then she realized the priority. She have to save herself first from him.

Sevverl stood in front of her. His face showcasing a gentle demeanor. It masked the cruel essence within him.

Lasiya pushed her head down. "Your majesty." She bowed down.

"Lasiya, you're here. I was on my way to visit your chamber." Sevverl poured out his words like honey.

Once, she felt excited hearing his words. Now all she feel was cunning essence in his words.

"Oh..." Lasiya looks up but pushed her head down once again. Not holding the gaze.

Sevverl felt something was wrong. His eyebrows furrowed. "Are you feeling well?" He reached his hand toward her cheek.

Lasiya jerked back. Her cheek stings from the little touch. "Your majesty..." Lasiya looked behind Sevverl and looked down.

"I'm fine." She smiled gently.

Sevverl realized what she indicates and withdraws his hand. Sevverl let out a clumsy laugh and joined his both hands together, massaging it.

"Well, thank you for the information, Lasiya. You once again proved your loyalty." Sevverl said.

"Yes?" Lasiya's brow twitched together, confusion arising in her face.

What did I do? Her pupils moved each side. Searching through her memories.

No avail.

"Because of your information, we found the hideout of the Moon clan's quarter." Sevverl smiled.

Lasiya's eyes widened but she stopped from showing it. She manages a smile. Her heart saying otherwise. Sweat gathers on her neck. Her body vibrates from the anxiety. "Thank you, your majesty. My loyalty lies with you."

She bowed again. Loyalty, my foot. She curses in her head and it did somehow relaxed her a bit.

"Oh, yes. Would you like to join the meeting today? I thought it would be okay to let you join." Sevverl hold out his hand to her, seeking permission.

"No, your majesty. It isn't the right time to join it. My loyalty isn't proven yet. Remember, I was once a assassin sent to kill you." She said.

Sevverl's smile disappeared. He looked gloomy in this demeanour. "It's a long time ago. It's not easy to tell about your sister's hideout. And you did. You proved your loyalty."

"No. This isn't enough. You have to understand, at least for me." Lasiya gave a sad look to Sevverl.

His face softens and he sighed. "Okay, I'll meet you at the lunch."

"Yes, your majesty. I'm waiting for the lunch time."

She gave a big wide smile to Sevverl before departing.

The night has arrived with a full swing. Basking in the moonlight, Lasiya Cross sitting against the window. Her left hand hold her chin's weight. She sighed.

Worriness painting her face, "How dumb I was once—give out my sisters to secure this bullsh*t."

Her palm hit her forehead severely, waking a red mark around it. "I should do something to stop this madness." She searched through her memories of the future.

Her face lit up, remembering something. "Ah—him. He would be a perfect choice."

Her face crumbled once again, remembering another thing. "But—would he help me? After all, I was the reason for his misery."

She scratched her head to find another but there is none. After a lot of silent breathing, she decided to try it.
