Chapter 1: First Feelings

"Freedom is a right taken from humans, just like the wings of a bird's most valuable feature are broken. However, when those wings are repaired, that bird rises to the sky again and rediscovers the true meaning of freedom."

The fractures inside me are so deep that sometimes they are damaged beyond repair. The fatigue I have accumulated over the years has almost destroyed me. Deep despair blooms at home wondering how I can cope with so many difficulties.

And a goosebump-inducing, biting cold made me suddenly open my eyes, as if waking from a dream. The stupor around my head from yesterday was still a residue.

The dim light filtering in intermittently through the bars on the window made me squint my eyes. In this cold room, every breath The uneasiness that filled me during my shopping made that moment even more real.

The weight of the chains embedded in my body rattled every time I shifted my wrists, further increasing the silent unrest in the room.

At least I could make plans to escape until he arrived. Maybe the creak of that little door would revive the hope of escape.

My heart was beating wildly like a wildfire as my eyes followed his emerging silhouette. I felt every nerve screaming to run away from him, but my body was bound by chains. I took a step back, but the creaking and straining of the chains felt like they were pulling my body towards him.

His dull golden irises followed every movement of my body as his wheat-colored hair danced in the gentle breeze. The insane grin he had been showing me for the past few days only increased the feeling of disgust that had accumulated in my eyes. His grin was starting to look like he was playing a trick on me.

Why did this happen?

Perhaps it was my greedy curiosity that was behind this strange situation, or perhaps it was the disorder that lay within Grey's mysterious soul.

I felt truly sorry for him when I saw that his core was broken when we first met. Afterwards, the riveting journey of our temporary meetings was filled with the hope of getting to know someone for the first time after my brother.

This hope took root in Grey's being and became the fundamental principle that determines our relationship with him: reaching that pedestal.

Despite her cold personality towards others, she took care of me during the days we spent, taught me and sometimes made me laugh, down to the smallest detail of a painting, our last few months together were wonderful.

So why did everything come to this point? I asked myself again

Gray's lips twitched as Ben drowned in a flood of emotion, almost seeming to adopt a caring expression, but Caera could sense the coldness underlying it. "Isn't it cold in there, Lady?" she said, her voice carrying a mocking coquetry. His eyes were fixed on Caera with a piercing gaze, as if he were about to penetrate deep into her depths and reveal her every secret.

I was filled with deep inner pain, seeing him in such a light was tearing me apart inside. I was contradicting myself, because my pain for him was drawing me in as I was lost in the dark corners of his secret world.

I leaned my back against the cold surface of the wall and he slowly approached me. As he stood before me, his eyes, flowing through vertical slits, looked directly into my soul.

My lips were parched with thirst and curled in anger. While he was afraid to speak out because of the punishment he would inflict, he was still there. My words came out in a whisper: "Why, Grey? Why are you doing this to me?" I continued sobbing, my body shaking

Gray observed Caera's vulnerability and remained silent for a moment. He leaned towards her with his deep, penetrating gaze and spoke in a cold tone: "I want to protect you, Caera. This world is a cruel and dangerous place. I do my best to keep you safe." The harshness in his voice could be felt as he tried to hide his concern.

"Liar! What are you protecting me from? You're the one who really hurt me!" I shouted, but before I could continue Grey's strong hand grabbed Caera's chubby cheeks.

"Now, darling, you remember the rules, right? You should know how to talk when you want something from me," Gray said in a calm voice, his eyes fixed on me.

Grey's approaching presence made Caera's heart beat faster and her breathing deeper. As she stared at Gray with fascination, she could smell the alluring scent of the expensive perfume she had chosen for him. However, the allure of the scent could not suppress the anxiety and fear inside him.

"You asked me what I should protect you from, right, Caera?" Gray said, his voice calm and determined. His golden orbs began to soften as he slowly shook his head. "First of all, from myself, of course. Now, you may think I'm hurting you, but when you woke up, I slowly started to doze off while his hand was targeting the nerve points on my neck. My heart rate started to drop, my breathing started to become heavy."

Gray kept his composure when he saw Caera faint. With a thin smile on his face, he approached her and gently untied the chains attached to her body and placed her on the couch. There was no sign of remorse or concern in his expression, just controlled determination.

Gray was lost in thought as his fingers ran through the strands of Caera's hair as he watched her peaceful sleep. He noticed that Caera still had a pleasant scent, even though she hadn't bathed in several days. She thought he wanted to comb her hair and take care of her.

His lips turned up and a mocking expression appeared on his face. "There are still many things among the gods you do not understand, Caera," he said quietly. "It's just as hard for me as it is for you. You have to understand, I'm doing everything for you. So that I don't lose you again." With these words, he emphasized his devotion to Caera and the deep feelings he felt for her. However, in the midst of this emotional moment, painful memories from the past also flooded his mind and he sighed, letting out a few giggles.

"Yes, I will definitely make you love me, Caera, you will be mine only."

Flashback

"If you're down there, Goldilocks, keep getting up," Regis hissed anxiously into my mind.

"Huh! What are you talking about?" Before he could say anything more, Regis interrupted again. "There are people coming. Stay dead on the ground!" he warned. My Asura senses came into play as a beam of light shined at the entrance of the oval gate. My nerves began to fray, but what could I do? As Regis said, I was as good as dead.

With the dim light filtering through my bangs, the silhouettes of three figures began to appear. One had a strong appearance, the other was fragile and tall. However, the most striking was the woman who stood out with her hair resembling her chest at night.

Even though I don't have any passions worth living for, I couldn't help the feeling of panic that rose inside me when I felt them approaching me.

calm down. "If I see they want to do something, I'll let you know," Regis said.

The brown-haired man warned when there were a few steps between us and the blue-haired woman. "Be careful, Lady Caera may pretend to be unconscious and attack us," he said, looking around with alert eyes. Suddenly, a metallic sound echoed in his chest, and he unsheathed his sword and pointed it at me with its shiny tip.

As the big muscular man raised his mace and prepared to attack me, the blue-haired woman suddenly intervened. "Come back!" in a sharp tone. he said while watching the man with big eyes. "But are you sure, My Lady? It might be useful to dispose of this girl now," the man asked confidently. The panic inside me increased and I started to think desperately about what to do.

The woman calmly leaned next to my head and began to examine my face with her delicate, warm hands. She said with a small laugh, "Yes, I'm sure." "Besides, he's a man, not a woman," she then pointed out. "Worse still, I don't think he could be a threat to any of us with his core shattered." There was determination and confidence in his voice, which reassured me a little.

Considering my dragon bond and our intercontinental struggles, I should feel anger towards these strangers. But strangely enough, I felt particularly attracted to the woman in front of me. The reassuring melody in his voice echoed in my ears. When I squinted my eyes slightly through my bangs, I could see the details more clearly.

In the darkness of the night, the woman appeared like a ghost, with her white skin shining like the light of the moon. Her hair was swaying slowly, midnight blue, as if following the rhythm of the flowing water. Her extraordinary crystal-like eyes were wandering over me with curiosity and a slight smile, as if she were lost in the depths of a mysterious sea.

When he tilted his head slightly, I quickly closed my eyes. For a moment, I didn't want his hands to leave my body to feel his warmth. I looked for a trace of his existence in every cell of my body. When I opened my eyes, I felt the faded rose inside me come alive again in his presence.

As I watched them turn their backs and walk away from me, I thought there was a real difference between love and the feeling I was experiencing right now. While Tessia was an elegant and fragile being that I had to protect, it was as if this woman I had just met had turned into a soul whose freedom I had to defend.

As I let out a sigh of disappointment, I suddenly noticed the woman's head turning towards me again. Standing next to him in his thick armor, Taegen raise one eyebrow and asked, "Is there a problem?"

"No, there is a rest area nearby. Let's wait a while and then we can continue our goal," the woman said with a sigh. They disappeared again with a flash. My feeling changed from excitement to reluctance.

I cursed, raising my arm to my forehead. Why was I feeling this way? My face was already starting to get hot. Was it that bad to crave his touch?

"Kukuku, you're in love, lover boy!" Regis burst out of me with a rush of excitement.

"What did I say?" Suddenly lifting my body off the ground, I realized my voice was too loud.

"No, no, I am absolutely jealous of you, Princess. Every man desires a woman like Lady Caera; her assets suit his sensitive heart." "Regis!" I intervened. I didn't know why, because I stared at the round ball shape with my cold golden orbs, but it bothered me to think that anyone other than me saw it that way.

"Oh, cowboy, is someone jealous?" he asked in a sarcastic tone, his eyebrows bobbing up and down. "No, I-" I started to answer, but Regis interrupted again. "You know I can feel your emotions, right?" he said, with a mysterious glint in his eyes.

I clicked my tongue in anger, and after a few moments of silence, Regis spoke again. "If you want to see her, you've got to get your ass out of there," he said.

I slowly lifted my body off the ground and stretched. Then I approached the clear water and looked at my appearance. I started to feel nauseous. I looked incredibly similar to my dragon bond, except I was more mature. My thoughts were ebb and flow like a complicated sea, I brought my smooth milky hands to my cheek where the woman touched it. My hands bore the traces of his touch. "I want," I whispered, my voice shaking slightly, but the desire inside me was becoming more obvious.

"Huh, what do you want?" Regis said, floating next to me. Ignoring him, he asked, "What was her name, Regis?"

"Name" looked at me confused, then continued. "Oh, you mean Lady Caera," he said.

"Caera," I repeated, ignoring Regis's question. After repeating the girl's name over and over again, I burst into laughter. The atmosphere of that moment overflowed like a melody that cut through the silence around me.

Arthur, I understand that you are in love, but... are you okay, my comrade Regis asked hesitantly with a slight smile. Yes, yes, I'm fine, I waved my hand casually and even said, "Regis, I'm better than I've ever been." I forced the turmoil inside me down and mentally put some distance between us. I didn't want him to know my thoughts right no
