Chapter 9: Ruler VS Predator

"Forget about him." Jingo Raichi huffed.

Seeing the problem was kinda resolved, everyone returned to their position for the next kick-off.

Team Z kick-off, but they were still fighting each other for the ball. Believing they could score. Team X, with their coordination, easily took the ball off them.

Team Z players tried to get the ball back, but it was too late. Baro had the ball, and once he had the ball, he was practically unstoppable.

"No, stop him. Stop him." The players of team Z shouted.

They were far behind they were not catching up to Baro.

Baro sped ahead, easily running past the few that tried to stop him.

Once again, all that stood between him and the keeper was Toshiro.

After witnessing Toshiro's earlier performance, Baro wasn't worried.

"I am King. I am unstoppable." He declared." Now, move peasant!"

And as Baro had ordered, Toshiro moved.

Rather, he fell forward.

This surprised Baro, but he didn't stop he continued forward. Why would a king worry about the actions of a peasant. If Toshiro did not know his place before him. He would beat into submission.

Baro drew closer, and Toshiro was midway through falling face first on the ground.

But before that could happen, Toshiro's stepped forward and stomped on the ground.

*STOMP*

Then sped off, leaving behind a trail of hot white mist.

Charging at Baro.

Seeing this, Baro prepared to execute some manoeuvres to dribble past Toshiro's pitiful attempts at an attack.

But suddenly, Toshiro sped up again and at a speed that would cause a collision between the two.

Baro couldn't believe his eyes. This guy was crazy. He was going to crash into him just to stop him.

Baro reflexively closed his eyes in fear of the incoming impact.

Other players watching shrunk back in anticipation of the collision.

But right when Toshiro was in front of Baro, he lightly tapped the ball, then he spun around Baro with great fluidity and speed it made a smooth snake like zig zagged past him, like the dance of smoke. Leaving nothing but a curved trail of steam.

[White Serpent]

Not feeling the expected collision, Baro opened his eyes to find no one in front of him. He was alone in front of the goalkeeper.

Despite his confusion, he knew what was important, so he looked down to check on the ball only to find that the ball was gone. All that was left were fading vapours of steam around him.

He came to a frightening conclusion, his eyes shunk in horror at his guess. He hasty turned to look behind.

All he saw was the fleeting steam filled back of Toshiro running towards team X's goal, but more importantly, was what was at his feet.

Cause at Toshiro's feet was something that he had declared was his. At Toshiro's feet was his, king Baro's ball.

Everyone had just seen Toshiro steal the ball off Baro, much to their amazement.

"CHANCE!!!" Screamed a player from team Z. Reminding the team to charge towards team X's goal.

One person in particular was very excited about Toshiro's charge. That person was nome other than Jingo Raichi.

He ran up to Toshiro and shouted at him to pass the ball to him as though it was his to being with.

To his disappointment, Toshiro just ignored him and continued onwards.

Jingo realised that he was not going to get his pass, decided to get it himself, and tried to kick the ball from underneath Toshiro." Well. Don't blame me." He said mid act.

Unfortunately for him, as though Toshiro had seen this coming, he easier jumped over Jingo's sneaky leg sweep with the ball.

After landing, Toshiro continued onwards with the ball, not even sparing him a glance.

Seeing Jingo's attempts to steal the ball. Igarashi, who was close by though, 'So that's what we're doing. Then don't mind me.'

And got ready to make an attempt at Toshiro. But before he could, he felt a sudden intense pressure fall on him, pushing down his very soul. He looked at the source and saw the eyes of what could only be a wild animal, hidden in steam staring back him with what felt like bloodlust.

In that moment, Igarashi found himself remembering Kira and what had happened to the last person who had pissed Toshiro off.

Under the pressure, he stumbled and fell back. Allowing Toshiro to pass.

At this point, Toshiro had made it past the first half of the pitch and was now in the second half.

The forwards of Team X were trying their very best to catch up to him.

Two of Team X's defenders charged at him while two other defenders stayed back just in case.

With minimum movement, Toshiro easily slid through past them.

The two behind went up to try to steal the ball, but Toshiro performed an effortless heel flick, sending the ball into the air over them and slipped through the two, landing where the ball would land.

He was alone with the keeper. He was in striking distance.

All his weight was transferred onto one leg, and the other leg pulled back. His body rhythmically flowed into their ideal positions.

The ball fell from the sky, and his leg kicked forward. The two aligned perfectly. The foot hit the ball.

[Killshot]

*BOOM*

Like the explosion from a cannon, the ball blasted out.

It moved so fast that the keeper did not even know what had happened until the score changed.

All he had heard was a loud boom, then a voom past his side.

[GOAL 3:1]

The board announced. However, the field was silent.

"We scored?"

"Did he score?"

"I think he did."

Team Z asked each other in disbelief.

"GOALLLLL!!!"

"We did it. We finally managed to score."

They celebrated after realising.

Some of his team Z teammates run up to him to congratulate him, but Toshiro just ignored their praise.

Toshiro did not celebrate. It was far too early to celebrate. He wasn't done yet. The hunt was just starting.

On his way back to his position, he encountered Baro, who was standing in his way.

"Oi" Baro growled out angrily. looking at Toshiro. The man who dared to steal his ball from right underneath his nose.

Baro felt his rage, embarrassment, and shame reaching a peak. This peasant didn't know his place. He stared at Toshiro with a burning hate and clenched his fists.

Through gritted teeth, he swore "I'm going to kill you."

The two foes stood in each others path, refusing to yield. They were going to clash with he the sole intention of destroying the other. This was no longer a simple match. It had transformed into a battle.

For one, it was a battle of survival and the other a battle to protect his dignity.

This was a fight between a beast and a king.
