Chapter 18: 18 Now Theres Spirits from Date A Live?
"No good..." Otto had been trying to figure out how to use the Reverse Cursed Technique for a week now, trying to find inspiration while walking around the forest.
"What about the letter?" Brynhildr who was silent for two weeks now after he had been defeated by Inshun, finally sounded her thoughts.
"Oh... Right." He had completely forgotten about that.
"But where are these people even staying?" With no written address, Otto doesn't want to wander the entirety of Japan just to deliver a damn letter. He finds it a waste of time and would rather look for stronger opponents.
"Why not look for them, while training along the way?" Brynhildr was conflicted about whether or not she should encourage her master to continue to fight strong opponents, as the way he fought was so reckless against his masters.
She hoped that her master would soon get a reality check, and get how weak he truly is. After He had killed Ryouma who already had passed his prime. Otto's ego soared high and thought that he could take on anyone with just his brute strength and immense magic alone...
Since fighting Inshun wasn't enough to wake him up, she hoped that the next person that her master was going to fight would teach him a lesson that he was willing to listen to and not let it fall on deaf ears.
"To where? These people might just be staying in a different country." This is also why he didn't want to waste his time looking for them in Japan.
"Then what are you going to do?" She asked since he didn't want to deliver the letters for the time being.
"I'll get famous, and then...." Otto thought for a moment, that it would be easier if he would just say it on a live broadcast on a TV because chances are the old man might be just watching the daily news. But quickly abandoned that idea as he remembered that there was a character he knew that had a connection to Nangou Torajirou.
"Then?"
"Wait... Where is the Hagun Academy?" He looked it up on the internet on his newly bought phone.
"Is he there?" She asked.
"No, but his disciple is," Otto remembered that the old man had a disciple working at the Hagun Academy as a teacher by now.
"Do you know that person?"
"Nope, not one bit. Her name was Nene if I'm not mistaken... Nene Saikyo that's it." He looked her up on the internet, as she is well known as the Yaksha Princess.
"Oh, so you'll travel there?" She sounded happy as she had gotten bored in watching Otto trying to achieve nothing.
"Yes, we'll be walking, because as you said. Train along the way." As he stood up pointed at the north direction.
"I see...." She reverted to her monotone voice, as she'd expect Otto to fight some random thugs as a challenge.
"Yup, we're going to the Kanto Region of Japan, where Hagun Academy is located." And of course, Otto was going to challenge several dojo's along the way and come back to the Nara prefecture once he's stronger to settle his second round with Inshun.
Which Inshun doesn't currently know, as he only views Otto as some kind of a rat, that can be easily removed.
...
After Otto had arrived at the Mie Prefecture, an unexpected explosion-like phenomenon occurred, creating an earthquake with a magnitude of 8 from the shockwave that lasted 10 seconds.
"... What a strong earthquake," Otto said as he punched the ground as a joke to refer.
"Why'd you do that?" Brynhildr didn't understand what he was trying to do as stopping an earthquake with a punch won't stop it.
"Nothing. And of course, I'm not the strongest creature in this world just yet." He said as it confused Brynhildr even further, at how strange her master is.
"Ummm. Master?" Brynhildr seemed to notice something was amiss.
"The fuck?" Just as Otto had turned to the corner, a massive crater was present that probably have taken 20 buildings if it had occurred in the City. Thankfully it was only the environment that was devastated, since he was currently in the Kihoku area which, is a tourist area full of beautiful scenery.
"Did someone test a miniature nuke here?" Otto muttered.
"I think it's related to spirits from the neighboring world." She said.
"What's that now!? Spirits? Another world?" He thought that this sounded like another setting of a different anime.
'Is it Date a Live?' Otto thought that there were spirits in that anime and it was from the harem genre. Though all of them are just magical girls with somewhat broken abilities, like doing some reality warping and time manipulation bullshit.
"Right... This is your first time in Japan. So I'll just explain it briefly." Brynhildr sighed.
"The chances of these craters being caused by a spacequake are high. They are phenomenons that are caused by the arrival of a spirit."
'Yup, this sounds like a Date a Live setting.' He guessed right.
"And Spirits are extraordinary beings that originated from another dimension, and each time they come to our world, voluntary or not, they would cause these explosions that make a huge crater that would obviously annihilate everything that got caught in it."
"Hmmm... That sounds, interesting... So who would win, the you in your prime or these spirits?" He sounded interested as he didn't know the full capability of Brynhildr if she was in her prime as a Valkyrie before she sealed herself in the sword.
"Well, if they transform to their Inverse form, then I would be in trouble... So, I would certainly lose." She answered honestly as she had seen the capabilities of a spirit that transformed to their Inverse form in the past.
"Then how about if they didn't transform to the Inverse form? Would you lose too?" He asked.
"No, I'd win." She was confident, so long as it wasn't the first spirit from 24 years ago, as she heard that the first spirit had the ability of all spirits.
She learned this information from her previous master who was the chief God.
"..." Otto became silent from her response as the like sounded familiar.

"Is that a pers-, spirit?" He squinted his eyes to see the person in the middle of the crater.
"Possibly..." Brynhildr sounded worried, as Otto might try to pick a fight with them.
"You sound like I'm going to fight the spirit..." He said as he wasn't dumb enough to fight a caliber of a spirit that is a town or city-level threat.
"You won't?"
"Maybe..." He shrugs and sees how the situation will go.
Otto cautiously observed the spirit from the distance, ready and willing to pull out Murasume and end it with 1 cut.
He didn't use it when he fought with Inshun. Because it might've been a meaningless victory if it was that easy to achieve it.
"What are they?" Otto muttered as armored humans approached the calm spirit.
"I think they will restrain her, before capturing her as a prisoner... Probably." Brynhildr guessed right as the armed personnel was trying to shoot down the spirit who was still confused at the situation.
"Say, Brynhildr..."
"Hmmm?"
"You said you can absorb souls so you can use their powers, right?" Otto had an idea, at this moment he didn't care whether or not he'd kill a heroine or protagonist, as he may find some of them unbearable to deal with...
Take Issei Hyoudou, the protagonist from High School DxD for example, he was just an unbearable pervert that constantly just thinks of boobs, to the point that he got noticed by the God of Breast or something. Otto was planning to plunder the abilities of Ddraig, while he was still weakened.
"I can..." She was starting to get what he was trying to do. Otto was planning to kill the spirit and absorb the soul.
"Let's kill the spirit... Sneakily of course." He continues to hide and wait for the soldiers to completely restrain her.
40 minutes later...
"It's taking a long time..." Otto getting impatient as the soldiers don't seem to do anything to the spirit.
He suddenly felt like a beast that was waiting for his prey to drop its guard.
After an hour, the spirit's mana shield was getting weaker, and weaker as she didn't even have the opening to launch a counterattack, since she had been surrounded from all sides.
"Pity... That many people want you dead." Otto mutters as he voluntarily summons Brynhildr for the first time.
Seeing that the people used some kind of special shackles to prevent her from using her powers. He took this chance to give her a clean and direct hit to the chest.
"Ah." She looked at Otto who suddenly appeared in front of her and had a teary eye as she knew her life was ending.
Otto's action caught the entire armed crowd off guard, as the spirit quickly was killed by an unknown man without hesitation, as he snagged the gem that acted as the source of the Spirit's powers.
"Quickly get him!" One of them shouted and prepared to fire at Otto, but was too late as their life had already been cut short by dual-wielding Brynhildr and Blade of Tathagata. As he slaughtered the nearby people who had the intent of killing him, before leaving the massacre scene he caused.
"..." Brynhildr felt slightly disgusted as to how could Otto kill humans that easily.

"Who are you?" A girl in crimson and black frills like a gothic lolita asked Otto who just recently escaped the bloodbath.
"..." Otto recognized that Lolita dress anywhere. She was Kurumi Tokisaki, also known as the worst spirit, as in dangerous to encounter.
"I'm Otto Apocalypse, The Aufseher Der Schicksal."
"Why are you escaping with the sephira crystal? If you don't have a good reason, I'll kill you on the spot." She threatened Otto, whose mind was a mess trying to find a way out of the current situation.
"I wanted to borrow it for a second for a personal experiment." He replied.
"What experiment?" She glared.
"On whether or not a male can become a spirit," Otto remembered that there aren't that many males that could use the powers of spirits in the anime.
"Personal gain?" Kurumi frowned as she looked at Otto's time with her left eye. Before something surprised her.
Otto took this chance to run away immediately towards the Odai town. Meanwhile, Kurumi seemed to be stunned for a moment.
But Kurumi just decided to let him go away, since to her... He felt worthless. She had seen that Otto didn't seem to possess any 'time' left like he was already dead...
"What a strange individual..." She muttered while going in the opposite direction from Otto's, as she felt like someone was watching her.
