Chapter 4: When It All Falls Down
Rina
"Why the hell are you calling?" Was the first sentence Rina said into the phone in accepting the call. The last person she wanted to speak to right now that everything concerning her was falling apart, was Sara.
Sara, who had remained silent at first, burst into a tinkering laugh, one which Rina got entranced with the first time she heard it. But this time, that sound grated on Rina's nerves.
Rina was annoyed and had been about to end the call when Sara began to speak.
"How's your life now? Bet it's all falling off around you one after the other."
Rina was shocked by that statement, and confused, because she was wondering how Sara somehow knew about what she was currently going through.
"You're probably wondering why I'm currently speaking with you right now. Well, the truth is, I'd like to let you know that from now hence forth, I'm gonna make your life a living hell."
Rina snorted on hearing those words. The Sara she knew couldn't hurt a fly, and even though she had caught her cheating on her, she still believed Sara was too kind hearted for anything harsh.
"Oh, yeah? And here I thought you called to apologize to mommy." Rina scoffed and Sara burst into another round of laughter.
"Here's the thing, Katerina. I said I wasn't gonna reveal this just yet, that was my agreement with your brother, but I can't hold myself back any longer. I love Dax, and I intend to get together with him."
Rina waited three heartbeats before responding. "Okay, good luck."
"Good luck?" Sara spluttered, clearly appalled, and that made Rina roll her eyes.
"Get off my phone, Sara. I have better things to do."
"You're gonna regret this, you're gonna regret what you did to me, I'd make sure of it." Sara screamed into the phone before ending the call, leaving Rina confused, because she didn't understand what Sara meant by her last sentence.
But she has other important things to think about, like why she was still getting more texts from her long term clients telling her that they're dropping her.
"Something is clearly terribly wrong." She said to herself before getting her stuff and heading out of her hospital.
She was driving when she realized she was being followed. That wasn't an unusual thing for Rina, due to her asassin job, but she usually easily outsmart the people tailing her. Which was why she felt confused after trying over and over again to outsmart the car, but it didn't work.
After the car grazed her car a bunch of times, she realized that it was tailing her to follow her or know her whereabouts, but was doing so to actually kill her.
Completely appalled, she tried her very best to outsmart the car and she barely made it out alive.
On getting home, she poured herself a drink and www chugging it down when her eyes bulged open at the first thing she saw on the television after switching on the tv.
It was a picture of her in her assassin uniform, plastered over the television, along with pictures of her in her doctor's coat. The headline of the news read.
'The famous villainess Crimson Blood, Nys Nightblade and The Devil's Bride, who is responsible for a lot of murders, is revealed to also be the doctor of this prestigious hospital. The country's security forces have shut down her hospital at once, and have charged Katarina Gonzale with over a hundred murders.'
Rina's eyes bulged open as she stared at the news on the television. The shock coursing through her veins made her frozen for the first few seconds before the glass of alcohol slipped from her grip and shattered on the ground.
She hurried to her phone and her eyes widened even more as she many messages rushed into her phone. She has missed a lot of calls from her assistants and managers from her hospitals and her panic increased even more.
Rina dosent panic, she's usually always in control, but this time, it felt like her life was flashing before her eyes, and she was really worked up.
She gathered a few things together and tried transferring money from her bank into somewhere else, but she realized that her bank has been shut down.
"Shit." She cursed underneath her breath, tugging on her hair.
Not having any time to waste, she hurriedly gathered the rest of some important things she'd need. As she worked, she wondered who could have done such a thing to her.
Only a handful of people know of her true identity and she silently asked herself if this was her brother's doing.
If so, then why?
Even though he had called and threatened her, Rina hasn't thought he meant that threat.
Why the hell would he chose to ruin her life like this? After she caught him sleeping with Sara??
It made no sense to Rina.
As Rina was making her way out of the house, she realized that the feds were on her doorsteps.
"Fucking hell!" She cursed underneath her breath and ran around the large house to the back door, but feds were waiting there as well.
"I'm so fucked. So, so fucked." She whispered over and over again as she hurried into the kitchen and shifted a large flower pot from a spot on the ground that led to an underground passage way.
It was situated there for whenever she'd ever be in a position like this, but she hadn't ever needed a reason to use it before, until right now.
She hurriedly went down the opening, using her phone's flashlight and once she arrived at the end of the tunnel, which led to an open arena with a slim door, where she was supposed to meet a motorcycle and some other essentials.
However, on stepping out of the dark tunnel, she came in contact with her brother, and Sara.
Rina was taken aback by their presence. They were plastered against each other, her brother's hand across Sara's waist, and Rina felt disgusted to the core.
However, Rina didn't expect the two of them to whip out guns and point it at her as soon as she scoffed and took a step forward.
