Chapter 19: CUTE LIKE A MOCHI

"You just did! Though your words!" Lia agrued with a big pout.

"Tsk… tsk… tsk… you didn't hear my words properly then, Miss Lia." Zeva shook her head and waved her finger. And then said, "Tell me, what did I tell Mrs Lee?"

Lia was having a pout on her face, as she sucked on the lollipop popped in her mouth, and stood there with holded arms.

On being as the question, she pulled out the candy, and said, "You told her that just like yours my parent's are also not in this world anymore. So what does it mean, what they have died?!"

Zeva shook her head, as she saw the little girl on the verge of breaking into tears. And she felt a little sad on having extended the topic. And Zeva just learned that parents are a very sensitive in anyone's life, be it humans or aliens.

"I absolutely meant the first line, but I did not say that they are dead, my dear. I told her that your are not there in this world, isn't it right? Given the fact, that you are basically an alien."

"…" Now when Lia thought about it, that's right! And her mouth became a big 'o', as she nodded her head.

Lia's eyes shone, as she looked at Zeva with an impressed gaze and said, "See, I told you this non- pious, bad girl things are made only for you. Look how easily, and sharply you lied! Now, what is beating up someone. That is a piece of cake for you, isn't it!" Saying so, Lia happily started walking forward sucking on her candy, leaving a speechless Zeva behind.

Zeva was standing there looking at the little creature walking away with a funny expression. At this point, she is doubting her own existence.

 ***

At the store, Zeva stood outside the trial room checking on other pretty clothes, and wondering which one to pick more.

Lia was inside trying another dress that Zeva had picked for her.

"Lia! Are you done?" Zeva called for her at the trial room's direction.

"No, not yet!" Lia said back. Zeva sighed and went on looking for more prettier dresses for the little girl. She was willing to help Lia, but the little girl was too shy. And wanted to do it by her own. 'What is she hiding? Her baby hot figure?' Zeva thought to herself and giggled

And she herself was also enjoying it. She felt a different kind of joy to shop cute dresses for a cute looking little girl and doll her.

After all, however sharp and sarcastically Lia talked, Zeva could not deny the fact that she was truly very cute. Just like a mochi!

"Ahh! This is horrible! You don't know anything at all! Stupid!"

Zeva heard someone yelling. And when she looked around to see what's the matter, she saw a kid, slightly older than Lia, maybe of four years old, throwing a tantrum.

And though Zeva was not trying to be judgy, but with only the first glance, she could tell that, that girl was a little brat.

She was shouting a salesgirl, because the dresses shown to her by the salesgirl who was assisting them. Zeva she saw the salesgirl. She was the one who had approached them earlier to help. But Zeva had politely denied her help because she wanted to look by herself. And the sales girl, was also polite enough by her words and behaviour.

On being yelled at, the salesgirl apologetically smiled and bowed her head and said, "I apologise, let me get something else for you that you may like."

The bratty girl folded her hands and twisted her mouth with such attitude, as if she herself owns the whole mall.

And Zeva pressed her lips when she saw that the girl's mother did not even say anything to her daughter to reprimand her daughter for her behaviour.

Zeva was never very much fond of little kids, and these bratty kids were the sole reason for it. And their parents were the bigger culprits. They should atleast teach their child that it is wrong to talk to elders like that, no matter what work he or she is doing.

But Zeva rolled her eyes away from it, as she decided not to get herself involved in the matter anywhere close.

But before she looked away, she caught the girl's mother look at her with a not so appreciating gaze.

Did she look at me, rolling my eyes at her daughter's tantrums? Zeva thought. But who cares! It's not that she fears anyone. And Zeva shrugged and went on minding her own business. As she had chosen another dress, Zeva knocked, and asked "Are you done, Lia?"

"Yes!" came an answer from inside.
