Chapter 36: A SMALL WORLD, ISN'T IT?
As Zeva and Lia left the university premises, they appeared stunned. Especially Zeva, she looked shocked to the core!
So easy?! How? Zeva was shocked with the fact that how everything went so smoothly and easily. She did not even have to wait in the queue to get to procedures done.
The office where the man took her had two other people who were working on the computer. They had handled all the admission and scholarship processes that had to be done. On top of it, they even asked her if she had a good place to live nearby, or did she want the university to help with the accommodation! Like seriously?!
And not to mention with how politely they behaved! As if like she was some VIP guests, instead of a student who had come for an admission. They had also brought Zeva a comfortable chair, and more packets of snacks and chocolates!
It felt like they were eager with their lives to take her into the university.
At first, when Zeva was called into a different office, she indeed felt a little odd. She was worried if something went wrong.
But in there, everything was going so right and in her favour that it felt wrong to her own self.
"Zeva? Wasn't it so odd?" Lia asked looking at her.
Zeca turned towards the little girl and nodded. "A little too odd."
Lia pursed her lips not knowing what to say anymore and after a while said, "Do you have an affair with any big shot of this college, that the authorities were so eager to take you in?"
"…" Zeva sighed and then said, "I wish I had. But unfortunately no, I don't. I have never had time before to think about having an affair or even dating someone. I was too busy with my own life. And the most important thing is, I have never met anyone yet to invest my feelings on!"
They had nothing more to think or say.
Lia casually threw her hands above and said, "Let it be. Whatever happened, happened for good. At least we got a good treatment. And I got lot of snacks for free too!" Free stuffs are always the best after all.
Zeva laughed and said, "Yes, at least the admission is done. What ever will happen, we will handle it later- aahh Ouchh!"
Zeva collided with a wall in front of her as she was speaking and looking at Lia. She took a step back, and rubbed her head, complaining, "Shhh! Where did this wall come from in between the path!"
Wait. Why does the wall smell so good. She looked at front. Wait! Why is it painted black? NO, wait. Why is it wearing a suit? Wait!!!
Zeva took a step back, and looked up to see the person. And her breath successfully got struck in her throat. W- wh- what/ Wow!
In front of her was standing the same person she had saved the life of. She looked at the man with big beady eyes, and the next second a bright smile emerged on her lips.
"Hello, mister! Do you remember me?" Zeva asked with excitement. Karl looked at the girl, and nodded his head.
"Of course, how can I forget you." He said.
And then, and there, Zeva got flattered, and she tucked a stand of her hairs behind her ears. Now come on! It is not everybody's thing to be remembered by a handsome guy, is it!
"Isn't it such a small world? We met just two days ago, and here we are again." Zeva said.
"It sure is." Karl replied with a small smile, that caused Zeva's heart to flutter even more. Oh! My! Heavens! He looks even more handsome when he smiles!
Meanwhile, Lia was looking at Zeva with pressed lips, not knowing what she should do with the girl. She was completely behaving like a fourteen year old in love.
Wait! Lia looked at Zeva with big eyes. Her human was not in love with this other human, right?!
Hurriedly, she shook her head. No! No! That may not be. But then again, there is nothing to not be too.
Ahhh! Lia was turning frustrated by her own thoughts.
There Karls's gaze fell upon Lia, and he stared at the little girl for quite some seconds. Zeva noticed Karl's gaze on the little fellow, and she introduced her, "She is Lia. My little sister."
Karl's eyes moved back to Zeva and he asked, "Your own sister?"
"…" Zeva shook her head, and answered, "No. I have adopted her. I found her in a very rural village. And she has no one of her own." Zeva just blatantly made up a story right there. Anyways, she would soon make Lia's documents in this world too. Now, don't ask how! She would look for connections. After all, nothing is impossible in this world. Specially, when you have money.
On hearing her answer, a smirk threatened to break out of Karl's lips. She said exactly what he had told to Liam.
"Then have you legalised it yet?" Karl asked to which Zeva shook her head again and replied, "no."
"Oh. So you should legalise it soon." Karl suggested to which Zeva nodded in agreement.
"If you want any help, I can help you with it, I do have sources." Karl proposed and that left both Zeva and Lia speechless for a second.
