Chapter 11: Bandits Of The Forest (Part 2)

Drew gave a small smirk.

'There are 13 of them,' Drew thought, 'Out in the open- might be more in the shadows too so I have to tread with caution…'

'And besides,' Drew looked at the eyes of the man that seemed to be the leader of the group, 'He will try going for the girl- he's the same rank as I am so I shouldn't think of finishing him quickly,'

The brown haired man jumped off the tree, his body disappearing into thin air instantly as he closed the distance between himself and Drew.

"Too slow," He said and slashed but Drew defended against the attack, sparks flying in the air as both fighters steeled their gazes. Drew pushed the sword back and slashed at the man.

'Since he's mid-air, he should not be able to dodge this and it's out of the range of his sword,' Drew quickly analyzed as he prepared to deliver a clean slice only for the air around the Cavalier to distort and push him to the right, missing his chance.

"Magus," He grunted under his breath as he saw one of the men on the trees, covered in a billowing cloak and his hands covered in a green magical aura, "A wind type,"

Drew could only smile as his gaze landed on the man that had landed on the ground, the tip of his blade released a glowing light- responding to his soul's cry for help and Drew moved forward, his sword radiating the power of his soul as he thrusted it forward…

Only for the man with brown hair to redirect his thrust, Drew gritted his teeth as he leapt backward to create some distance between himself and the man- the air rippled as the man shot forward and slashed diagonally at Drew's head but the Burly Cavalier raised his sword up and blocked the strike with ease.

"You are surely an experienced one," He said and his eyes released a slight glow.

"Same to you," Drew commented and steadied his grip on the Sword, "But this battle is far from over,"

While the both of them were locked in their standstill, An archer who lay behind a thicket with his crossbow in hand gave a small smile.

"You might be able to beat our captain… that's why I'm removing you from the battle quickly," He muttered under his breath as he was about to release the arrow.

Archers were also a sub-division of Cavaliers, a Cavalier dealt with the mastery of magical tools that would help them combat monsters… therefore there were many different kind of Cavaliers but the main fact was that they each possessed a magical tool.

The Crossbow was encased in a golden aura as the Archer prepared to release the bow and do away with Drew… once and for all.

The rustling of bushes nearby disturbed his concentration and it was getting closer, the rustling was slight but the Archer armed with his advanced hearing skills could hear it and something was coming closer. The Archer staggered forward and pointed his crossbow at a specific bush, letting loose a golden arrow which reeked of magical energy.

In a flash, the arrow fell out of the air and landed on the ground softly much to the Archer's surprise…

'Something hit it,' The Archer thought in alarm as a mysterious short figure appeared in front of him… it resembled a goblin but the air around it differed from that of a regular Goblin.

It was clad in green armor and it's aura was murderous, charged by a certain kind of Magic that the Archer was not familiar with.

'This is different from the monsters in the dungeon- and in all my years here, I've never seen such a Monster,' The Archer thought as he watched the Goblin raise the baton with purpose.

His hands subconsciously trembled as he clenched his fists, the difference in power was something else… but he wouldn't give in.

The Archer sprung backward and released 4 bursts of golden arrows, the attacks shooting through the air and finding their way to the marked Goblin soldier… only for it to vanish rapidly.

The Archer's crimson eyes strained as he felt the condescending feeling of death loom over him- he didn't understand, Where did the Goblin go?

His arrows landed on the ground and the Archer steadied himself as he saw the Goblin once again, bouncing around the ground and trees.

'I can't keep up with it's movements,' He thought as he gripped the Crossbow but the Goblin was faster, appearing right in front of him.

Tension was in the air as the Archer knew that a single smash from that baton wouldn't be able to kill him… a tinge of relief reflected on his heart but it soon vanished as the weapon began glowing.

It's figure distorted and morphed and the Archer's eyes widened as the Baton turned into a Magic Iron Sword, The Goblin stabbed it forward and pierced the man's heart in an instant- withdrawing the blade in a moment's notice and blood spraying across the ground as the Archer's body fell backward to the ground.

'Would the boys laugh at this…?'

'I got killed by a Goblin…'

His body landed on the ground and his sights dimmed, he was already dead and the Goblin reached over for the weapon, covering it in a pale green aura as it vanished instantly.

The Goblin looked at the Longsword and focused MP into it, warping it's shape into that of a small Dagger and springing into the air quickly.

#####

Rem was quite confused, His MP reserves had gone down by another 15.

'What the hell is that Goblin doing?' Rem muttered under his breath.

If it had been him from before, with his little MP- he wouldn't have been able to sustain the Goblin Soldier but he was a little stronger than before.

[Would you like to absorb 1 'Archer' Soul?]

[Yes / No]

As the screen appeared in front of him, a smirk appeared on his face as he tapped on Yes and a golden aura zipped through the air slamming into his chest and integrating with his soul.

[1 'Archer' soul has been successfully absorbed]

[You have gained 5 MAG points, You have gained 3 STR points, You have gained 3 AGI points]

[Special Archer item 'Heaven's Crossbow' has been gifted to the Host by Goblin Soldier]

Rem's eyes widened in confusion as he felt the familiar feeling of strength coursing through his veins but not only that, this Heaven's Crossbow… he could feel it within his very soul.

Rem extended his right hand attempting to bring out the golden weapon and as he willed it- a green burst of light shot out from his chest and materialized on his hand.

"You got to be kidding me," Rem muttered under his breath.
