Matthew and his agent, John, had decided to stall on negotiations with Barcelona and Juventus, waiting to see if Manchester United would make a bid. It was a risky move, but Matthew was willing to wait for his dream club.

Days turned into weeks, and Matthew heard nothing from Manchester United. He tried to focus on his training and matches, but he couldn't shake off the feeling of uncertainty.

John kept in touch with the other clubs, letting them know that Matthew was still interested, but that they were waiting for another offer. Barcelona and Juventus were getting impatient, and Matthew was starting to doubt his decision.
