Chapter 1: Chapter 0 I am a viking

"Have you ever thought of becoming a Viking in your life?"

The entity looked at us with a big smile on his face. He calmly unveiled the screen behind the screen curtains, showing a big TV with a figure of a man inside.

Inside the screen.

My life was a fulfilling life to me. I never struggled to make money and I had a great family that supported me from behind.

Honestly, I was born as a genius. I never had trouble understanding difficult math or science problems because I felt they were not so difficult.

Every decision of my life was for the greater good of my family and I never regretted making them.

I graduated from a prestigious university and I have a great wife and children. Although I regret not making time for my parents and grandparents, I am sure that they are proud of me in heaven.

" Mr. Henry, the board is waiting for you."

The secretary handed me a document of my new project that was prepared to be introduced at in upcoming event on modern technology. We have been researching how to enhance the human body and mind through artificial intelligence and we made a great breakthrough in the field.

" I understand, Jenny. Do I look good?"

Looking at my great beard and hair in the mirror, I didn't feel sad because I knew sooner or later I would die like my parents.

" You look great, father. I am so proud of you!"

The secretary smiled brightly when she heard my words as she fixed my tie while pecking my cheek.

This simple gesture softened my heart because I felt good when looking at my daughter who grew up to be an intelligent woman like her mother.

" Then, let's head out. Moan*"

Suddenly I felt tightness in my chest as my vision blurred. I saw the face of my anxious daughter who was holding my falling body in her arms as she cried out for help.

The tears in her eyes fell into my old face as I realized I was dying. Perhaps it was true that good people die early since I never harmed anyone in my life.

My mother used to tell me that God loves good people, so he always takes them away early before they suffer more.

" I love you, Jenny."

The hoarse voice of mine barely let out these words as I felt my vision blackening. So this was the death that we feared so much. A space where nothing could be seen or heard.

Meanwhile in another world.

" Hang in there, Freyja. He is almost out."

The old woman wiped the sweat from the woman who was giving a new life to this world. She was yelling hard due to pain but her consciousness remained firm out of persistentence.

" Wife, you can do this."

A big burly man with blonde hair held her hands as he prayed to the gods to save both of his wife and child. His heart beat louder and louder, knowing his wife having a tough time due to the harsh winter.

" Ah!"

Finally, she let out a gasp as the cry of the newborn reached their ears. Her weak arm slightly moved to signal him to bring her child.

" My son! Halfdan Magnusson."

The strong man gently placed his son next to his mother as he trembled with joy. The white vapor slowly seeped from his mouth while he looked at them with love and tenderness.

" My child."

The woman gently stroked his face with love, knowing he would reach great heights someday because she saw him in her dreams. She saw the one-eyed man guiding a powerful thunder to her body as it entered her body to energize her.

" Congratulations, Jarl Magnus. You have a strong healthy boy."

The old woman smiled with a gentle face while cleaning the room with other women to ensure the safety of their family.

" Thank you, Mother Juna. I will never forget today's debt."

Magnus bowed his head to the old woman despite his rank. He never regarded them as peasants and he never would allow someone to do that.

" Give your wife time to recover. Even though she has a strong body, the child was born in harsh conditions. She must be exhausted from the labor."

Juna reminded him to leave her because she was tired.
