Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Savoring the Moment

The pasta was a masterpiece, with a rich, creamy sauce coating the al dente noodles. The aroma wafting from the plates was heavenly, a savory blend of garlic, olive oil, and parmesan cheese. As they dished it out, the steaming hot pasta filled the kitchen with an inviting warmth.

Roman and Bianca dug in, their forks twirling in unison as they took their first bites. The taste was sublime, the flavors melding together in perfect harmony. Bianca's eyes closed in rapture as she savored the dish, a soft moan escaping her lips.

Mmmh~

"Roman, this is incredible!" she exclaimed, her voice full of delight. "You're a genius in the kitchen!"

Roman beamed with pride, happy to see his sister enjoying the meal. He was about to share his surprise about the car, but something made him hesitate. He decided to keep quiet, wanting to see the look of surprise on her face tomorrow when he revealed the news.

As they continued eating, the only sounds were the contented sighs and the gentle clinking of forks against plates. The pasta was a hit, and the siblings relished every bite, savoring the moment and each other's company.

Bianca looked at Roman, and questioned him, "So Roman, when are you introducing me to your girlfriend?" her tone was strange, but Roman didn't pay attention to it.

"What girlfriend?" Roman wanted to avoid that question.

"C'mon, you recently went to a party and you said the host was a 'she', and you spent the night there" she had a smug look on her face.

Roman's face slapped his forehead, shaking his head. "Bianca, you're totally misunderstanding! I didn't spend the night with anyone, I just...uh...crashed on the couch because I had too much to drink, that's all!"

Bianca raised an eyebrow, her smug expression still plastered on her face. "Save it, Roman. I'm not buying it. You're not exactly the couch-crashing type."

Roman's face turned bright red as he realized his sister was onto him. He tried to deflect, "Bianca, drop it, okay? There's no girlfriend, I swear!"

But Bianca just chuckled, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Oh, Roman. You're so transparent. I'll find out eventually, mark my words."

Roman shook his head, laughing nervously. "You're being crazy, Bianca. I'm telling you, there's nothing to find out!"

Roman suddenly said, "And why are you obsessed with my love life?" raising his eyebrows.

"Who said I'm obsessed?" Bianca replied, looking proud of her quick response. "I'm just, uh... looking out for you, yeah, that's it. I'm looking out for you."

Roman chuckled, a hint of amusement in his voice. "Looking out for me, huh? That's a good one, Bianca. You're like a detective trying to crack the case of my love life."

Bianca smirked, her eyes sparkling with playful defiance. "Hey, someone's got to keep you in check, Roman. And besides, I'm just making sure you don't end up with some crazy girlfriend who'll drive us all nuts."

Roman laughed, shaking his head. "You're something else, Bianca. I'll make sure to keep that in mind. No crazy girlfriends for me, I promise."

Bianca grinned, looking satisfied with herself. "Good, I'm glad we have an understanding. Now, let's finish dinner before it gets cold."

Roman suddenly asked, "Hey Bibi, you good? You seem to be thinking." Bianca looked like she was in deep thought, her expression troubled.

"Hey Roman, how would it be if I got a part-time job?" Her voice was low, hesitant.

Roman looked at her, sensing that this wasn't a casual question. "As long as you like it, then that's fine," he replied, trying to sound supportive.

But Bianca's face fell, clearly not the response she was hoping for. Roman saw this and asked, "What's the real reason you want that job, Bibi?"

Bianca's eyes dropped, her voice barely above a whisper. "I want to help, Roman. I want to help lessen your burden. You've been working so hard to take care of us, and I feel like I'm not doing my part."

Roman's face darkened, his jaw clenched in disapproval. "If I let you work, Bibi, I've already failed," he said, his voice low and rough. "I'm a man, it's my job to provide for this family, not yours."

Bianca's eyes flashed, a spark of determination igniting within them. "That's not fair, Roman! I'm not a child anymore. I can help, and I want to."

Roman's expression softened, his eyes filled with a deep concern. "Bibi, I know you want to help, but I can't let you do that. I'm your brother, it's my responsibility to take care of you, not the other way around."

Bianca's face fell, her shoulders slumping in defeat. Roman could see the disappointment in her eyes, but he knew he had to be firm. He couldn't let his little sister sacrifice her future just to help him out.

"Bibi, listen to me," Roman said, his voice gentle but firm. "I appreciate your willingness to help, but I won't let you work. I'll take care of everything. That's the way it's going to be."

Bianca nodded, her eyes downcast, but Roman could see the resentment simmering beneath the surface. He knew he had to find a way to make it up to her, to make her understand that he was only trying to protect her, but for now, he just hoped she would accept his decision.

Roman approached her and hugged her tightly, trying to comfort her. He lifted her up, and Bianca wrapped her legs around his waist, her arms around his neck. Roman consoled her, stroking her hair and whispering soft words of reassurance.

"It's okay, Bibi. I know you want to help, but I can't let you work. You're my little sister, and it's my job to take care of you," he said, his voice full of warmth and love.

Bianca nodded, her face buried in his shoulder, her body relaxing into his embrace. Roman held her for a long time, feeling her tension melt away, feeling her trust in him.

As they stood there, Roman realized that this was what it meant to be a brother - to protect, to provide, and to love unconditionally. He knew he would do anything to keep Bianca safe and happy, and he was grateful for the trust she had placed in him.

Roman joked, "You know, you're a bit old for me to be carrying you like this."

Bianca giggled, her face still buried in his shoulder. "Hey, I'm not that heavy!" she protested, her voice muffled.

Roman chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Oh, I'm not saying you're heavy, I'm just saying you're a bit...grown up for this sort of thing," he teased, his voice playful.

Bianca pulled back, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Hey, watch it, Roman! I'm still your little sister, no matter how grown up I get!"

Roman grinned, his eyes warm with affection. "That's right, Bibi. You'll always be my little sister, and I'll always be here to take care of you...even if it means carrying you around like a kid!"

Bianca rolled her eyes good-naturedly, her face still flushed with happiness. "Yeah, yeah. Just put me down before you drop me!"

Roman laughed, gently lowering her to the ground. "Don't worry, I've got you. You're safe with me, always."
