Chapter 18: Flipping The Switch (Edited)
(Erik POV)
Kol, in a grey traveling outfit, Finn in the same outfit, but in brown, Sage wearing a green dress that she split down the side of her left leg, and I in my black boiled leather armor enter the room I left Juliette in. I saw her wearing a red dress fit for a queen, sitting in a chair surrounded by the dead bodies of the 20 guards just as a gasp was heard and I looked at Kol and asked.
"Brother go fetch us some servants for our friends here to feed on. Might as well as bring 4, at the least."
He does so as I walk to Juliette and tell the guard that has awoken.
"Stay quiet until your friends are awake and I'll explain."
He looks fearfully at me and Juliette but does as requested. In the following minutes, till Kol came back, the rest of the guards woke up.
When the guards were all fed, I tried my hand at mass compulsion.
"Stop moving and look at me."
13 of the 20 locks up like powered-down machines and look straight at me and I look at Kol and Finn who compel the last 7 with the same thing I said.
"When you lot, leave this room, you will feed anyone you see your blood. Before killing them until everyone in this castle is dead. Then bring their bodies to the throne room. There you will wait for me... The only ones you can't touch are these 4 that will feed those you bring into the throne room."
The 20 guards do so, and I look at the 4 servants and compel them.
"Go to the throne room and wait for us. Go now."
They do as I said. like mindless robots. And Kol asked.
"What now brother? Do we wait for your evil minions to get our job done?"
I smile at him before I become serious.
"No brothers. I am going to check if what I think happened has and if so... I don't know what I will do."
I take Juliette's hand leading all 4 of them down the hallways of the castle until I am in front of Aurora's room and enter it to see her quickly packing her bags. She looks at us and says.
"Brothers, what are you doing here? We have to leave quickly."
I sigh sadly as Finn, Kol, Sage, and Juliette look at her confused. Before I blur in front of her, then take her head in my hands and siphon the compulsion away. Causing her to grunt and scream in pain.
"AARRRGGGHHHHH."
When I finished, she slumped against the floor panting and beginning to sob saying.
"Oh god no I.... I couldn't stop myself. Klaus no, please no."
I speed over to the wall and slam my fist against it.
"Damnit, I warned him when he killed them that if he did this, I would make him wish for death."
I start nodding to myself before looking at Aurora and demanding.
"What happened? What did Elijah do?"
That shocked my 4 companions, but Aurora looked at me and mumbled to herself before saying.
"I was in Tristan's room talking to him for what I thought would be one of the last times. Elijah knocked on the door, then without saying a word fed Tristan his blood then snapped his neck. Before entering dragging my brother's body back into the room when he saw me and closed the door."
(Flashback)
"Aurora you weren't meant to see this."
I look from Tristan's body to him with tears of joy forming in my eyes as I say.
"What are you doing Elijah? Are you turning him into one of us?"
He shakes his head and says.
"My family and I are leaving. Lucien and your brother have a job we need them to do."
I look at him and say.
"I haven't heard anything about this from Klaus. Let me pack my bags and we will be off."
As I went to pass him, he grabbed my arm and said.
"Only our family are leaving. None of you 'sired' are coming with us."
I look at him and say.
"You have to be joking. You think Finn will leave Sage, or that Klaus would leave me, and let's not even mention how Erik will react to you telling him his lover can't go with him after what you did to the last one."
I saw severe guilt in his eyes and he flinched when I mentioned Erik but still said.
"You are not going with us."
Getting angry I sneered at him.
"I know Klaus better than any of you. Only I know his closest guarded secrets. I know what is in his heart and you don't have the power to decide what we do."
A gleam is seen in his eyes as he grabbed me by the throat and said.
"What do you know about Klaus that I do not?"
I tried to deny him saying.
"I will never betray him or the secrets of his heart."
He screamed and I saw his pupils shrinking as he yelled.
"TELL ME."
(END FLASHBACK)
"Oh God, I told him.... I told him Klaus's secret."
I look at Aurora and say
"You will go find Klaus. He should be at the stables. Tell him what happened."
She nodded with tears in her eyes then sped off. I turned to Finn and Kol who said.
"What is going on brother? Why did Elijah compel Aurora and why do you seem like you're ready to kill him?"
I look in between both of them and my eyes glaze over with grief and say.
"After Elijah kill- Killed Tatia, I had the chance to kill him. Hell, he begged me to, but I told him that I wouldn't kill him. But if he ever betrayed Klaus again, I would make him wish for death... For taking them away from me."
They both look confused at what Tatia has to do with this, but Sage who heard the last part says.
"Who is them? I mean... I know Elijah killed Tatia, but who else did he kill?"
I swallow hard as a tear falls from my eye and say.
"Tatia was.... She was pregnant with my child... When Elijah lost himself to the bloodlust and bit into her, she was begging him to stop... I arrived right as she told him she was pregnant in a desperate attempt to save herself."
Kol, Sage, and Juliette have tears forming in their eyes. But Finn has a conflicted look. Like he is both sad and relieved the child died. No doubt fearing what Dahlia would do. I disregarded it as I was practically spilling all my emotions that I have kept bottled up inside me. Trying to move past it and keep the Mikaelson family together. Knowing this would destroy the family.
"I was so scared and mad that I sped over to them and I... I ripped him off of her. In doing so I... I ripped her throat out... If I would have been more careful or brought that damn water skin, she would still be alive... She was my first kill. She is the very reason I have my wolf... No matter how much I blame him for what happened. The very fact that the second she died in my arms, and my eyes changed means that my actions killed her, not Elijah. Not the devil whispering in his ear. I killed my first love and unborn child."
Kol had a look of horror and Juliette slammed herself into my chest, whispering that it wasn't my fault. While Finn holds Sage, who holds her mouth in a failed attempt to cover a gasp of sadness.
"And now Elijah has betrayed Klaus again. The only person that stopped me from using a broken branch of white oak to kill him. When he took them from me, and I Promised him if he did, I would make him wish for death."
After I finish talking, I close my eyes and search for my switch to my emotions. When I find it in the back of my mind, I turn it off. And pull away from Juliette saying.
"It's okay sweetheart. I'm okay now. I just need to have a friendly chat with my brother... And everything will be sunshine and roses."
Finn.... first to notice my change in emotions says.
"Brother, what have you done?"
Without answering I disappeared from their view with an invisibility spell and sped away.
