Chapter 6: Chapter Six

Do you know what sucked?

Being a hero, it sucked, very much so. Mostly because people expected you to be good and not get rid of the trash of the world permanently.

I whipped the blood on my hand away with a napkin.

"So... have we come to an understanding?"

I asked, looking at the crumpled man in front of me, who nodded. He was already healing, especially since I made sure to cleanse him of any residual magic that was remaining on him.

"Good talk, Superman."

I tossed the napkin in my pocket space and turned around, grabbing the floating cane and the tophat as I walked out of the training room of the watch tower.

"Was that necessary?"

I glanced to the side as I exited the training room, eyeing Wonder Woman in all her glory, arms crossed. I hummed, dusting off my vest.

"Someone had to bring him to his senses, and you people care about feelings too much to do it."

I shrugged, not really caring what she thought of what just transpired.

"He would have come around."

I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Really? Well, it's too late now, not like it would take him too long and would have made superbly resentful of him for ignoring him for so long, you know? Let's forget that he is an artificially grown child with no understanding of his own body, and the only one that he can see as a father figure due to literally having half of his DNA is flat-out finding excuses to ignore him."

I stared her in the eyes, the hollow holes of my illusion baring into her soul before she looked away.

"I rest my case... Also, please teach him how to fight, that showing was pathetic."

With that generous piece of advice, I teleported out from the circus that was the Justice League.

__

"No, no, no."

I say pointing at the Rune on the paper.

"This one will absolutely mess up the magic circle, and trust me, an explosion in your face is not pleasant."

Rachel looked down at the magic circle she drew, it was shaky but hey, I wasn't an artist either.

"Then...?"

I hummed observing the few simple runes in the magic circle, it was simple, she wanted to make an elemental wall, and she chose fire, I could understand that making an ice wall was the first thing I did.

"You see, making the wall out of fire is more complicated than doing so out of mana. When making it like this, there is basically a wall of mana that turns into fire to make a fire layer, so just take out the fire and make a Mana wall first."

I point at the rune again.

"If you take this out, you will conserve mana until you figure out a Magic Circle algorithm that works for you to do the same thing that I did."

She nodded and took another paper. I leaned back on the sofa, looking at her as she worked for a moment before opening up my book to continue reading.

A few minutes later, she handed me the paper and I looked over it, observing it before nodding.

"Good job Rachel."

She took the paper back and looked at it for a moment.

"How do I... Make this like you do?"

I eyed her for a moment, raising an eyebrow and chuckling, reaching inside the pocket dimension, I took out a paper and created a magic circle, pressing it to the paper and imprinting the mystical creation on it.

Looking it over for a moment, I hand the new paper to her.

"Just channel your mana into it, it will shape itself and you will only have to memorize that."

She nodded and put the paper on the table, pressing a hand on it.

While she did that, I grabbed a thermos from my pocket dimension, taking off the head I placed it on the table and poured the tea inside.

Taking the head that acted as a cup, I took a sip. Alfred's tea was the best.

"This is a lot more complicated than I thought it would be."

She muttered and I nodded absently. Magic circles were very effective, but figuring them out could be a pain sometimes.

Like the ones I was in the process of making.

Figuring out different algorithms for everyone was menial, but it would pay off.

There was a knock on the door and I looked over, seeing Aqualad standing in the doorway.

"Batman has a mission for us Sentinel, he requested we gather."

I sighed and nodded, standing up and looking over to Rachel, motioning her to follow.

She stood up and followed me as I walked out.

"Are you sure it's wise to bring me on the mission?"

I glanced at her, raising an inquisitive eyebrow.

"I don't really have much experience..."

I snorted.

"I can't download experience to your mind, Rachel, you gain it, and you gain it by doing things, like messing up on a mission so bad the world is torn apart."

I smiled at her, getting a blank look in return.

"That's reassuring."

I just patted her head.
