Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Building a Tourist Island? No, I'd Rather Found a Nation

At twelve o'clock, the airplane took off.

Three hours later, the airplane landed in Incheon, where the connecting flight awaited.

Chen Yang took advantage of the time at the airport to take a break, having some food and hydrating to recharge his energy.

Six hours later, Chen Yang boarded again.

As he entered the plane, he put on a sleep mask and tried to rest for a while.

Upon waking up, the arrival announcement was already being broadcast through the speakers.

Like an anchor who spends a lot of time editing videos from external sources, Chen Yang had sufficient language skills to communicate normally in foreign languages. However, considering he would need to communicate with people around the world in the future, he acquired the [Language Master] skill in the system's store.

He removed the mask and checked the time. It was already past five in the morning.

The plane would be landing in Saipan in half an hour, where the local time zone was two hours ahead of Huayuan, indicating it was 7:30 in the morning in Saipan.

He noted the time on his phone, aware that he would soon have to adjust to the rhythm of this new island.

Half an hour later, the plane touched down at the airport.

Chen Yang disembarked and contacted the island's vendor.

After arranging a meeting place with the other party, Chen Yang took a taxi there.

Saipan, being a tourist island, has a population of only 50,000 to 60,000 people, a third of whom are from the Dragon Kingdom.

In about half an hour, Chen Yang found the seller in a café.

The man was tall, white, approximately 1.78 meters tall, and about 50 years old, wearing beach pants and exuding an aura of tranquility.

"Hello, Chen. Welcome to Saipan," greeted the man warmly, hugging Chen Yang as they met, before briefly introducing himself.

His name was Mark Williams, a native of the island and descendant of fishermen.

"I discovered this island last month while at sea," Williams explained. "It's 500 nautical miles from Saipan..."

Chen Yang interjected, surprised: "Do you usually go that far when fishing?"

He knew that 500 nautical miles equated to over 900 kilometers, a considerable distance.

Williams smiled, explaining, "Actually, a group of tourists from Australia rented my boat and wanted to go to Africa for a cross-country trip. It was during that trip that I discovered this island."

Chen Yang nodded, understanding the situation. After all, the story made sense.

After a brief conversation, Chen Yang proposed, "Let's sign the contract."

Williams agreed, ready to finalize the deal.

Williams handed the contract to Chen Yang, who examined it meticulously, word by word.

To ensure he would be prepared to sign contracts in the future, Chen Yang acquired skills related to lawyers in the system. Now, he was proficient in the laws of various countries around the world, which made him immune to being deceived in any contract.

After a thorough review of the contract and ensuring there were no issues, Chen Yang signed the document on the spot and transferred $1 million to Williams' personal account right there.

Soon, Williams received a text message notification from the bank, confirming the deposit. Seeing the extra money in his account, Williams smiled from ear to ear.

"Chen, congratulations. From now on, this island is yours!" exclaimed Williams, radiating happiness. "You know, this island is different from others. It's not under the jurisdiction of any country. With this $1 million, you acquire lifelong ownership of it and won't have to deal with those complicated taxes!"

He then shared a story: "Back then, the government of Saipan wanted to buy the island from me, but I refused."

Curious, Williams asked again, "Chen, when you bought this island, were you planning to turn it into a tourist island?"

Chen Yang shook his head. "No, I intend to found a country!"

The response caught Williams off guard. After a moment of hesitation, he began to laugh. However, upon noticing Chen Yang's calm expression, his heart skipped a beat.

"You... are you serious?" Williams asked, stunned.

"Absolutely," confirmed Chen Yang.

Suddenly, Chen Yang changed the subject: "Mark, are you selling your fishing boat?"

"Yes, I am!" replied Williams.

"Show me."

"Alright."

Half an hour later, Chen Yang followed Mark to the port in his car.

There, he spotted Mark's fishing boat, a vessel nearly 40 meters long.

During the drive to the port, Williams provided details about the fishing boat. At 37 meters long and with a net tonnage of 126 tons, the boat met the standards of a large vessel.

Accompanying Williams to the boat, Chen Yang took a quick walk around. The various onboard equipment was impressively comprehensive.

"Mark, please give me a price," Chen Yang requested.

Williams offered the price he had considered: "$250,000."

Considering the boat was only six or seven years old and the price was fair, Chen Yang realized Williams wasn't trying to inflate the value.

Although Williams was a fisherman, he rarely used the boat for fishing. Most of the time, he rented it out for tourists to take trips.

With his balance still at $450,000, Chen Yang agreed and said, "Let's sign the contract."
