Chapter 11: Red echina
On his way to his home after leaving Village chieftess's house, Lawrence starts to pick up some herbs.
My god, there's so much red echina just lying on the ground. These plants can increase strength and stamina and some dumb elves just squash them while walking. I should gather these things first and slowly consume them to increase my strength and stamina. I'll need a huge amount of stamina from all the pounding *cough* training that I'll need to do.
I'll also need to start casting my magic slowly to expand my core. I'll consume this once I get home and start casting some light magic. The last thing I want to happen is to cast some destructive fire or lightning magic and injure or kill myself. My core can expand as long as i use magic so any of the elements can help me do it. I don't need take a risk since i have a lot of time before the demons even begin to start invading other teritories.
**Authors note: demons aren't the only ones out to get them** **wink**
Ugh, my head hurts. I should have read some books regarding the mages.
After arriving home, Lawrence opened the door and looked for Freya
Hmm, she's not here? Did she go out and see her mother and sister?
Elves cook on the ground damn. I think I read this before it's called earth oven. It's a pit on the ground that traps heat using stones and wood. There is also a pot crafted from stone. Damn, I need to talk to the one that crafted this pot. I might be able to ask for her help in creating my new castle *cough* house I mean. I'm definitely ain't planning on living like a caterpillar that sleep on leaves and a bunch of tree trunks forever.
After a few minutes of cooking
"Yuck!" this thing is so expensive but it tastes so bitter. I can't believe I need to drink this daily from now on. And I don't feel any changes in my body, I know this is effective but how can I verify its effects?
Lawrence heads inside his room to meditate in a sitting position.
Hmmm focus Lawrence, focus. I can see the colours of natural energy. Red, blue, darker blue, brown, violet, white, gold, and green.
Huh? Why are there 8 cores inside my body? Humans only possess one. F*ck so does this mean I need to train all 8 at the same time, won't this take me years or even centuries to become as strong as me back then. And even my former strength is insignificant compared to the other mages. I'm in deep trouble.
*Sigh* Lawrence sighs and stops meditating.
I thought being reincarnated would give me a huge heads up but I just now realised that I barely have any knowledge about mages. I have no books to study from nor people to ask some pointers. I was nothing but an orphan from a poor family, my parents were soldiers under the same kingdom but they tragically died during a failed subjugation of the demon beast that attacked one of the cities. So I could only be a common soldier once I got drafted. *sigh* I'm nothing special.
Should i ask the village chieftess? Nah I don't think she even knows that she's using aura. That dumb elf probably thought it was her inner strength or something.
F*ck I was an aura user! Why was I so focused about being a mage? Was it because human mages gained recognition and special treatment? Was it because mages are respected anywhere they go? But those are human mages. I am an elf now
"Hahahaha!" lawrence laugh
I am an elven mage I can live for a thousand years. I'll train aura like before and coat myself with natural energy this time while training till I collapse to expand my cores little by little. This place is full of high-quality herbs for healing after all. They surely won't let me die.
F*ck the human society I am an elf now I can live longer than their great-grandsons
"Hahahaha" Lawrence laughs
Let's meditate again and this time focus on the gold orb first. Hmm, I think it is starting to shine a little. Now that I think about it, if I use all the orbs to absorb natural energy and use them to attack along with my aura, I'll probably explode. I don't think this weak ass body can handle all eight natural energies at once.
After training some light energy, I'll go to the edge of the barrier to train my body. Everything in this village belongs to me now anyway
A few moments later
Nice I can use the healing magic now, I should try if I can heal myself or if this is just some sort of a portable lantern during the night.
Lawrence grabs a pointy tree trunk and pricks himself. He then uses his healing magic to see if it works.
Hm i think its starting to close now. Damn I'm a healer now huh. F*ck yeah
Anyway, let's repeat it but let's make it a little bigger this time.
Lawrence looks for a bigger branch with sharp edges and pricks himself
F*ck it hurts. Did I become soft? or is it because of this body? I could still swing my sword with some open wounds but just pricking myself with this branch and I was already feeling some pain.
Never mind that I should just continue this and resolve it later.
Lawrence continued to prick and heal himself for hours until evening came
It's getting dark, now that I think about it. After doing it for hours I didn't feel fatigued at all. I guess this body's stamina is better than I thought. But I should stop now, someone might see the weird light coming from my house and start to investigate it. It's not like I can teach them how to use aura or become a mage right now. I'm still adjusting to my new body, the last thing I want to happen is a bunch of elves exploding because they couldn't control their power.
*creak*
"Dear, are you home?" Freya asked
"I am dear, where did you go" Lawrence asked
"I have a male cousin dear, he died along with the other male elves so we visited my aunty earlier" Freya answered
"I'm sorry to hear that dear" Lawrence hugs Freya
"Ya, I'll cook dinner now I'm sure you're hungry, but why do I smell blood? Are you injured anywhere"
"No dear, it smells like this when I entered earlier. So i was really worried about you but i don't know where to look for you" Not really, i experienced being a masochist earlier, but it definitely wont happen again Lawrence thought
