Chapter 13: Back to normal?
After Kakshi left, Naruto, Sasuke, Shikamaru and Hinata followed me into my apartment, with the man stored in some special sealing scroll.
I couldn't help but feel like this entire place was becoming ridiculously crowded.
Steel also notified me that Barry came and swept the area but left when he didn't find anything suspicious.
Shikmaru and Sasuke decided to interrogate the shadow man later.
"I think our first objective should be to get more knowledge about how this world works. Following that we can decide if it is needed to set up a base of operations and how we would further proceed from there." Surprisingly, Naruto said.
I didn't really involve myself too much in their conversation, and just gave my input whenever I felt was necessary.
After that, the group decided to go back to the land of fire, but Naruto left a shadow clone of his to wander around Central City.

The following morning was fairly normal for me, other than the fact that I realized a lot had happened.
My first fight, figuring out Barry is the flash, summoning Naruto and getting access to the entire military might of the anime.
Even talking to a girl…wait, I never got her number? How was I supposed to meet her again? The likelihood of us running into each other is almost 0.
Maybe I should stop by at the bar again later today, maybe it didn't get affected by the whole battle with the wood guy.
"Hey Lucas, where are you going?" Naruto's shadow clone, which I simply treated as Naruto asked as he saw me step out of the building.
"I am going to work, I am the assistant manager of a coffee shop." I told him.
"Ahhhhh, I see. By the way, do you know any good ramen stores?" Naruto asked, probably getting hungry at the mention of coffee.
"No but you are free to try some food, here is some money." I said, as I passed him 200 usd I had in cash.
Naruto smiled happily and took the money.
I didn't bother asking what he did throughout the night even though I didn't see him back in the apartment.
"We should probably get you a phone so we can communicate with each other." I thought outloud.
"A phone? What's that?" Naruto asked, as he followed me towards Jitters.
We both just had a relatively normal conversation as we traveled towards Jitters. Naruto also did dress more…normally as he tried to fit into the crowd.
Some people did stare at him, thinking he seemed slightly familiar but no one outright would think an anime character was in front of them.
The store was already open when I entered, and the day passed on relatively normally.
Cisco and Joe did drop by to see how I was doing after the whole meta-human attack which was a nice gesture.
I still didn't really process Barry being the Flash, and I didn't think I needed to fill them in that I knew his secret.
Did I even want to get involved in this superhero business? Wasn't it already too much to have Naruto here, the man was basically a walking Nuke, and with Steel constantly unlocking new modes and me understanding my powers, I would easily be able to be happy.
Money isn't really a problem anymore since my earnings had increased and Tom made crazy amounts of money he didn't mind sharing.
Isn't this what I always wanted? Some money, friends and a family. I have it all. Life is content…so why do I feel empty? Feel like I have no purpose.
Eventually, work ended and I had to go back home. Naruto had spent his day walking around the city, and he said some people took photos with him since he looked similar to their favorite anime character which I found funny.
Shikamaru and Sasuke came back that night with a plan.
"I think our first objective should be to start something akin to a mercenary squad. We cannot just go around stealing money and affecting the world economy." Shikamaru said to which Sasuke didn't say anything, thus I assumed he agreed.
Their plan was to buy materials to bring back to their world and thus they needed to have money.
"We will basically establish Ninja squads in this world." He continued as he explained their plan. This world did have conflict, just hidden by super powers of the world, and less known to normal people who were just trying to get by.
While I was paying attention to their conversation, I could see Tom at the side making what seemed like Sushi for his youtube videos. Now that his secret was known he was being a lot more comfortable, recording his daily life.
He was even using a headband Hinata had provided him for his videos which made him seem extremely cute.
"I was thinking we start in Africa, it seems like plenty of warlords exist there. We can then move into different continents." The analysis continued as Naruto and Sasuke listened.
"Shikamaru would it be possible if we could avoid Europe?" I asked. I didn't need them going there right now.
"Sure…but can I know why? We will eventually be selling our services to the highest bidders and Europe has plenty of rich people." He mentioned.
"Well…my family is in Europe, and I don't want them to take advantage of you guys. Anything they have planned is certainly not a good thing." I said honestly.
"Alright…is it fine if I do some investigation on your family though?" Shikamaru asked.
"Sure, I don't really care about them, it's just anything that happens in Europe, so much as a simple mugging and they know about it. Their control over that continent is absolute and I don't need them knowing of your existence yet." I answered honestly.
And this was when I was still there, I wonder how much more crazy their influence has gotten.
"We will keep that in mind." Sasuke spoke out, as he continued looking at the world map Tom had given us.
Then, after staring at the map for a bit more, he turned his head to Naruto and a slight smirk could be seen on his face.
Naruto also smirked back, "Just like old times huh." "I was thinking we do things slightly differently. After in person investigations, let's see who can clear more missions. It might be overkill for us to work together." Sasuke said.
"So a competition?" "Yes." Shikamaru and I just sighed looking at the duo, but seeing their happy smiles infected us slightly as well.
Tom, who had finished cooking, passed our food to us and then passed me a wooden box.
I opened the box and took out the toy that was not moving currently.
"By the way, this toy can talk." I said, and Buzz still had no reaction.
"Watch." I said as I tossed Buzz up and down.
Then, I threw him straight at Tom, who was used to this and took out his baseball glove and caught him.
"STOP!" The toy suddenly shouted, but Tom just ignored him.
With this the trio got introduced to Buzz.

"Yes, my mom is with me all the time. She has grounded me for a week. Come on Blaire just go and pass my number, how hard can that possibly be?" A pleading voice could be heard as she was talking through a landline.
"And what do I get out of this?" Blaire asked, twirling her hair as she watched her best friend suffer over some random poor man.
"What do you want? One of my dresses? What's mine is yours." Serena said.
"That should already be the case!"
"So what do you want?" "Hmmm." Blaire pondered. "Let me think about it and get back to you. For now send me the address." "How am I supposed to do that when my mom took my phone? Just search up jitters coffee location and you will be able to find it."
"Then what's the point of him having your number if you cannot pick up his calls?" Blaire asked.
"Your right…then just pass him this landline number as well as my phone number, I will try and get my phone back from my mom today." Serena said.
"What's so special about this guy that you're going to so much trouble anyways." Blaire asked.
"I don't know… I felt this special spark with him, like my whole body was floating in the air and he was the center of it." Serena described.
"Serena…are you doing drugs again? Is this guy your dealer." Blaire asked, concerned.
"NO! How can you say that when you know…never mind. He is just a normal, nice guy. Just do me this favor. I owe you one. Okay I hear my mom coming I gotta go bye!" She said as she cut the call.
Blair, who was on her laptop searching the location up couldn't help but sigh.
Oh what her dumb friend with a stupid taste would do for love.
Then, she heard her phone ringing and saw the name [Chuck Bass]. She immediately threw her phone to the side and didn't bother picking it up.
Not again.
