Chapter 15: 15: Dream journey.

Chapter of information, although it does contain some plot samples, such as worlds that Ciri and Samus might go to, as well as a final part that explains Samus' situation in more detail and, most importantly, an introduction to a scene from the Berserk manga.

--------------------------------------

Guts walked down a strange corridor, the walls were black, but small colored lights were shining on them, giving the place a somewhat ethereal atmosphere, but the path he was walking down was the most interesting. Beneath his feet was a path full of jewels, both known and unknown to him, he felt that taking one of these jewels would make him immensely rich because of how beautiful they were, but he knew he couldn't.

After walking for a while, the world seemed to fold in on itself, up was left, down was in, everything was confusing, and everything was chaotic. He felt strange as if he were immersed in something, but this strangeness was coming from everywhere. And then, with a jerk, he fell heavily onto a blanket of dry straw.

Understanding nothing of what was happening, Guts sat up and walked on, his path now on a small cobbled path surrounded by a huge meadow. Then he heard a voice that he recognized as Samus's. Her voice seemed to come from every direction, echoing throughout the strange place.

"From what I have understood and pondered, I have come to an interesting conclusion. In all the stories, which may now be a real universe that I might visit, interesting things happen, phenomena that I would like to learn about and study.

One of these phenomena is what I call a 'Power System', these universes, worlds, dimensions, whatever you want to call them, usually have some method that allows the beings present, usually humans, to surpass what we know as possible by performing inhuman, impossible acts.

Now I'm going to talk about the four types of power systems I know of, I may be very biased, but okay, who's going to drink this experimental potion?" Samus' voice trailed off, causing Guts to cluck his tongue, amazed at how brazen the girl was.

"She gave me something even she hadn't drunk, I'll have to complain about that when I get out of here," Guts just walked on, remembering how he got here.

He had taken one of the two potions Samus had given him, according to her, it would give him a much better understanding of the various powers outside his world, something he was interested in, he wanted to find some sort of inspiration in this information, so he drank this potion gladly, although he regretted it a little now.

"First of all, we need to talk about something very basic, power systems affect all three aspects of being, which are the body, the soul, and the mind. It is because of these three aspects that the classic statistics of a system or attribute panel are only a reference, which is why I will probably never use my rating talisman as something serious to take into account... but I had to make one, I love statistics.

Then it should be noted that these three aspects affect each other, power systems can focus on one or more of these aspects, so there are four types of power systems, let's start with the first one," Samus' voice paused here, and with it, the scenery Guts was traveling through changed.

The man now found himself in a strange world, there were large constructions, people inside strange metallic objects flying through the sky, and others inside transparent tubes traveling to some strange place.

He saw metal beings interacting with even stranger ones, even with monstrous appearances, but the atmosphere was so harmonious that he just let himself go, walking around this strange place, admiring the strange things he saw.

"Firstly, there are the body-based power systems, even if they have a connection to the spirit or soul, the energy or ability to use it is more focused on the user's body. Genetic powers or powers resulting from body modifications of any kind belong to this system.

As for energies that primarily affect the physical aspect, we have classic examples such as Ki, which has mental and soul aspects, but its focus is on the body.

Chakra also falls into this area, as a system of energy based on the cells of the body, although it is very much intertwined with the mind, as mental energy is fundamental to the creation of chakra. Chakra can also be used to affect the soul, making it one of the most complete power systems.

There is also the Nen, a power system related to both body and mind. So..." Samus explained what she understood of these power systems as she recalled the three series in which they appeared, much to the surprise of Guts, who was traveling through a modern setting.

"Are there people capable of destroying cities so easily?" asked Guts, as Samus' explanation made him understand the incredible things that could be done with Ki, Chakra, and Nen.

"The second type of power system is related to the mind, these are those that depend wholly or partially on the human psyche. Examples include psychic powers, whether their variations are genetic or purely mental. A manifestation of the human mind and a reflection of the user's soul," Samus' voice became more ethereal as the scenery changed completely.

Now Guts walked through a battlefield similar to the ones he had participated in, he saw the cruelty of close combat, Guts walked on without stopping to see the cruelty, he was used to it, he didn't need to see something he knew like the back of his hand.

"We can also add the ultimate exponent, magic. Magic often depends on the mental abilities of its practitioner, although there are cases of magic related to the body or the soul.

By the way, we have some new exponents of this kind of power system, such as the cursed energy, which comes from human negative emotions, and the three hakis, powers derived from the will, but also from the body" Samus' tone seemed a bit awkward when talking about this point, but it wasn't something Guts could ask her about now, he will when all this is over.

"Then there's the third power system, obviously related to the soul, like Reiatsu, spiritual power, or one I find quite interesting, incarnation.

These power systems are more esoteric and subtle, they affect not only the soul, but also the body and the mind, but the source of their energies generally comes from the undisputed core of existence, the soul," as Samus spoke of this point, her voice grew darker as the scenery changed into something that astonished Guts.

What did Samus see or know to be able to describe such a scene? A bright galaxy with flashing lights, but it wasn't the vastness of the cosmos that impressed the man, it was the power, the absolute power he felt. He had seen the Hand of God before, beings capable of altering reality with ease, but now... he felt that Griffith, or as he now called himself, Femto, was nothing before the being he saw.

He was seeing a supreme being, he knew instantly, and he also realized why Samus had shown him this image, for the subject of souls could only lead to the existence of gods.

As Samus' voice explained the intricacies of these three power systems, Guts couldn't help but think that Samus hadn't mentioned the fourth type, she seemed to want to avoid it, until at a certain point, as if she understood the resignation of the person drinking her potion, Samus' sigh came, completely changing the scenery.

In front of Guts was another modern city, but this time it was different, it was in ruins, and as he continued his journey, he saw a man dressed strangely, in a yellow suit with red cuffs and a white cape. His head was shining, for he was bald.

In front of this man stood a huge monster, Guts felt its power, but the sight of God so astonished him that he dismissed it until he saw the inconspicuous man jump and lose sight of him. Then the sound of something crashing and exploding overwhelmed Guts, and the wind blew him backward, leaving a furrow in the ground.

He regained his astonishment as he saw the man strike and smash the powerful monster with one blow, then, as if the scenery changed to follow the man, Guts could see all the enemies he faced, beating them mercilessly. He even went back into space and saw him punching the stars and shattering them with one blow, or at least that was what Guts understood.

"There are beings who, for various reasons, are born isolated from extraordinary energies, do not or cannot contain them, and while they could generally be dismissed as untalented or unblessed, there are a small number of outstanding individuals," the image shifted from the bald man to that of a young man with a blacksmith's hammer in his hand, savagely beating armored soldiers.

The man was not even stronger than Guts, but his ferocity was as great as his own. He saw the man kill hundreds of men single-handedly, something Guts could do now, but when he saw the youth in the boy's face, he understood that he was looking at a talent.

"This is Roran, in a world of magic, dragons and elves, he was not blessed with the power of magic, but his somewhat thin physique carried an iron will and a noble soul. The former was the most powerful being in his world, a hero named Saitama, and also..."

Guts saw a burly man fighting another young man with white hair and blue eyes, and although the man lost, the fight was almost dominated by the former.

"He lacks the power of this universe, but he is skilled in the use of the tools that belong to that power," Samus' voice reappeared as Toji Fushiguro died, and the sadness in the girl's voice was more than obvious.

"This power system relies on one thing: breaking boundaries. They have no extraordinary energy, but they can perform superhuman feats, they are not enhanced by genetic serums or mechanical augmentation, nor by rituals such as bathing in dragon's blood.

They are human, even if they can destroy the planet with a single blow. Enter the martial artists, the alchemists whose power comes not from themselves but from the environment, and the mystics, people who communicate with the forces and beings that rule the cosmos and seek to work miracles on the earthly plane," Samus continued, showing Guts some interesting figures.

He saw Yujiro Hanma and Baki Hanma fighting, Edward Elric sacrificing his sensitivity to external energy and cutting off his path to practice alchemy, and a strange man in a hood who seemed to be performing a human sacrifice to summon some indescribable being beyond the cosmos.

Guts returned to the corridor at the beginning, and Samus appeared in front of him, making various gestures in the air. As she moved, lightning bolts shot from her palms, then a jet of fire, then water, then a fine mist. Then she crouched down and placed her hands on the ground, transforming all the gems into spikes that surrounded her.

"I cannot contain extraordinary energy, which I proved by talking to a certain entity in my childhood, but I have a high sensitivity to energy, can see supernatural phenomena, and have a superhuman physique. I am certainly much luckier than most of those I have shown you, except for that bald guy," as if she could see the person who had drunk her potion, a smile appeared on her face, giving her the appearance of a mischievous cat.

"And this is the end of this filler, so if anyone wants to know about power systems, I'll just give them this potion, the next one I'll make will be much more elaborate..." The figure of Samus disappeared, as did everything around Guts.

...

It was already the morning of the fourth day since Samus and Ciri had arrived in this world, Guts had digested all the potions and information Samus had given him, giving the man plenty of inspiration and ideas for his future path.

These days had been relaxed... until the reality of this world and how fucked up it could be hit Samus. She had seen raw things, but the senselessness in front of her made the young woman feel anger for the first time in years.

They had entered this city and the first thing they had seen was the execution of a woman accused by the Church of being a witch, but both Samus and Ciri knew that girl was innocent. Even Guts realized it. But the cruelty of backward humanity shocked Samus a little, and she was unable to prevent the beheading of an innocent woman.

And knowing who was to blame, a monster in human skin who had done it out of spite did not make her think twice. Soon, the people around her began to fall to the ground, unable to breathe, not from lack of oxygen, but from too much of it. Samus was ready to punish them, but her main focus was on the soldiers in armor and that disgusting guy on the stage.

Maybe a big explosion would make him think.
