Chapter 2: Opportunity to become a Devil

(I already finished this before publishing the chapter 1. Hope you enjoy)

Keiji was sitting in class, bored and feeling physically and mentally tired after what had happened when he was supposed to go on a date. The sudden boost in power was beyond what any adrenaline could give him. Having been in fights before, Keiji was aware that something was different.

"Hiryu Keiji, right?" Yuuto asked.

Keiji looked up to see the Prince of Kuoh, as he was called. "Hmm. Oh yeah, that's my name. Does someone want me? Or is Sona still getting on my case?"

The blonde male chuckled. "No, it's nothing of the sort. It's just that the president of the club that I'm in wants to speak with you, if you are available."

Keiji blinked. "Sure, I guess. Just lead the way to wherever the hell we're going. However, don't take it harshly if I don't pay attention or look lazy. I'm just really tired."

Yuuto nodded. "That's fine, Hiryu. I think you'll find that you're going to be very alert about what happens," he explained to him, making Keiji's eyes, ironically, alert right away. The demeanor that Yuuto gave off was something else.

"Oh, before we talk about going to this club, you can actually—"

"Why do you get to go to the top-secret club?! That's totally unfair!" Motohama exclaimed, getting too close for comfort for Keiji.

Keiji had a disgusted look. 'Why is this idiot so close to me?' he thought. "It's not a big deal. I'm just going to visit some club."

"JUST COME TO THE CLUB?!"

"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW LUCKY YOU ARE?!" Matsuda chimed. "That's where the two great beauties, Rias and Akeno, are living! The great Occult Research Club!"

"The boobs on those two must be amazing! I'd die to suck on those!" Issei added.

Keiji was growing frustrated. "Then die already, Issei. Look, you guys are exaggerating things, and you need to stop growing out of control; it's annoying me, and I want you guys to just try to be a bit better. Is that too much to ask?"

The Perverted Trio didn't take too kindly to that, leading Keiji to just sigh and roundhouse kick all three of them in a perfect row. 'Impressive,' Yuuto thought.

Keiji exhaled. "Sorry about that, Yuuto. I just got frustrated and lashed out. Oh, and before I got interrupted, I was going to say that you can just call me Keiji. No formalities like that. There's no need," Keiji explained, and Yuuto nodded.

Along the way, Keiji had to put up with the annoying squeals of the fangirls making yaoi ships. He had to wonder what was going through their minds. Finally, they arrived, Yuuto being courteous and opening the door for Keiji; a small thank you, then they both went through.

The Victorian-era styled room really impressed Keiji. He found it a bit strange that it was like that because they were in Japan, but he didn't mind it. "It's a nice room, I guess. Not sure what else to say about that."

Yuuto just smiled. "The renovations are nice. Rias will be out here, so I guess you can look at the other members that are here."

Keiji heeded Yuuto's words. He looked to the small, white-haired girl. "My name is Keiji, but I'm sure you know that. What's yours?" he asked, not really sure if he should say anything special.

Koneko just looked at him, then went back to eating her lollipop again. "My name is Koneko. Nice to meet you."

'Guess she's the silent type,' Keiji thought.

Bouncing breasts came towards Keiji as he looked to see a buxom babe walking up to him with a smile that was naturally seducing. "Nice to see a new member. My name is Akeno, nice to meet you. I'm a third-year, but I don't bite. Just let me know if you have any problems."

Keiji sighed. "It's nice to know that. It wouldn't be too much to ask you to help me whenever Sona comes and tries to throttle me," Keiji joked off the top of his head, surprised when Akeno laughed and Yuuto chuckled; Koneko was probably too busy enjoying her treat.

"Good to see that you are already getting well with the others, Keiji Hiryu. I'm Rias Gremory, a third-year. Nice that you are here." Rias nodded to the other male. "Thank you for bringing him here, Yuuto."

Yuuto nodded. "No problem."

"Um, Rias. You don't have to use my full name. Keiji is just fine. Is it fine if we just go on a first-name basis?"

Rias looked at him, then smiled. "That's no problem. I don't mind it as well. Just take a seat, and I can talk about why I invited you here, especially as we are a secret club."

Keiji just sat down. "So that's why the trio of idiots were getting all hyper at me having been invited. In any case, will there really be something to surprise me? Yuuto had this weird tone about it."

Rias still kept her smile. "Do you believe in the supernatural?" she asked.

"I'm not really sure. I don't know if there is much evidence to support that it is real. But I don't think that it's impossible, too. After all, there is no evidence saying it doesn't exist. So I guess I'm willing to believe it exists but just haven't had any proof of it. Does that satisfy you?" Keiji asked.

Rias nodded. "I see. Then let me give you some proof."

"Huh?" Keiji spoke out. His shock turned bigger when he saw bat wings ejected out of Rias' back like it was nothing. "Those are real, right?"

Rias nodded. "You're taking this very well, Keiji. The Occult Research Club is a guise. Everyone here is a devil," she said, with the rest of them showing off their wings.

"So do I assume you are here to kill me and take my soul?" Keiji asked, small sweat drops. "Not too fond of that."

Akeno laughed. "It's nothing like that. Not everything stated is true. We really mean no harm to you."

"Then what do you want?" Keiji asked.

"Keiji, we want to recruit you to join us as devils!" she declared.

Keiji cocked his head. "It's a nice offer, but why me?"

Rias sat down, retracting her wings. "Do you remember feeling a sudden urge of power on Sunday?"

Keiji's eyes widened. "Yes, how do you know?!" Keiji's eyes narrowed. "Wait, were you the ones that sent those people to fight me?! I missed out on a date; not that I cared about it, but still."

Rias shook her head. "No, we didn't. It's just we felt the spike of power. When we investigated the sight, there were only a bunch of floored bodies. It was most likely from what we believe you have. A Sacred Gear."

"Which is? Some strong weapon, I guess. Who gave it to me? Don't really know anyone like that," Keiji told her.

Akeno came in. "Sacred Gears are usually gifted to humans. They were made in Heaven. God's gift to mankind. Of the great figures in history, some of them might have been Sacred Gear users."

"In that case, that means you want me because of this power, right?" Keiji asked. "What's in it for me?"

Rias nodded, a bit sadly. "That is partially true. I could use your assistance with something, and you would be helpful. However, it doesn't mean that you'll get off with nothing. You will be rewarded with something. I can help you with plenty. Such as your debt, right?"

Keiji's eyes lit up. "That sounds almost too good to be true, but you are devils. I think you can get it done. But I'm still a bit unsure. I'll have to think about it, but I guess."

"Guess what?" Rias asked.

"For devils, you really aren't bad people. Quite the opposite. Much better than some of the humans I've had to deal with. I'll probably go for now but I'll come visit you later with a decision. Is that acceptable?"

"That's fine. Stay safe, Keiji."

Keiji was walking alongside the forest with a drink in hand when he heard someone rushing up to him. Instincts kicking in, Keiji reacted with a kiss. A feminine groan hit his ears as the busty, black-haired girl lifted herself up.

"Who are you?! Almost made me spill my drink!" Keiji stopped to take a moment and observe her features. "Wait, the girl that asked me out on a date?"

Yuuma glared at the human. "That's right! How dare you stand me up?! Filthy human!" she shouted.

"Woah, no need to go there. We are both humans here. Anyway, it's not like I did that on purpose or to be mean. I got jumped by some guys. Unless you sent them there!" Keiji accused.

Yuuma was gritting her teeth. "Enough about your rambling, human! I'm going to kill you!" she shouted, the area glowing a purple dimension dark while her clothes began to rip into some slutty BDSM wear, black wings slowly forming.

'Oh hell nah!' Keiji thought as he zoomed in as quickly as possible and punched her in the stomach hard. Gripping her there, he wailed on her before kicking her back. "Crazy woman! The fuck are you?! A devil?!" Keiji thought.

"Don't compare me to those stupid devils! I'm a mighty fallen angel Raynare! I'm going to be the one that kills you!" she said, throwing something bright that split the cup containing Keiji's juice. "Tch! Stay still!"

Keiji glared at her. "You think you can just spill my drink like that! I paid for that! I understand you are mad about getting stood up, but don't you dare blame me!" Keiji roared at her, something growling back at Raynare.

Just like before, Keiji's arms had a mechanical-looking contraption strapped to them. "Boost!" a voice played.

Green energy surrounded Keiji, making Raynare gulp. "W-what is that?! He has a Sacred Gear, too!"

Those were the last words Raynare heard before blanking out; Keiji already removing his fist from her stomach. With that, she slumped, and the void barrier fell.

Keiji exhaled heavily with that. "I'll leave you like this just because getting stood up is a pain in the butt, no matter what." 'Now looks like I should really take up Rias on that offer.'

Rias' ears perked up when she heard a knock on the door. 'It's a bit late.' Rias nodded to Akeno to let him in. "Nice to see you so soon, Keiji."

"Yeah, I guess that was quick. Let's just say that I think I'll accept your offer. I'll become a devil, but don't fall back on your word!" he reminded her.

Rias looked surprised then went to chuckling. "In any case, I'm glad. And, as ironic as it is, I wouldn't dream of breaking the promise."

Akeno went and brought out a container. "Your Evil Pieces, Rias."

Rias nodded. "Thanks, Akeno. Now, let's get to the reincarnation ritual. Lay down, Keiji. This will be the last time you are human. Maybe you might want to have any last thoughts or words."

Keiji chuckled. "Rias, you make it sound like you are going to kill me."

Rias blushed. "N-no, that's not going to be the case."

Akeno stifled her chuckle, making Rias turn to her and pout. "He does have a point, President."

"Not you too, Akeno! Just let me do this ritual. Okay, Keiji. It's going to begin," Rias told him, saying the ritual words and letting the Chess pieces flow in.

'I just hope I don't regret this.' Those were Keiji's last words as he abandoned his humanity.
