Chapter 5: Chapter 4: Grand Line

Tyr suddenly grabbed a stick and he glared at Garp who had a wide grin on his face.

"Ahhh, so you learned it huh? Look at you, having all three types of haki and surrounded by girls that will kill for you in a drop of a hat." Garp looked at the daggers pointed on his heart, neck, and crotch.

Courtesy of Hancock, Marigold, and Sandersonia of course.

"Garp... This shit is getting old, just like you." Tyr rolled his eyes and Garp glared at him.

"I'll have you know! That my grandchildren are the same age as you!" Garp moved incredibly quickly, smacking him on the head.

"Ahhh! You stupid old fart!" Tyr rolled around in pain once again.

"Heh, can't escape the fist of love brat." Garp laughed and the Boa sisters frowned at him deeply.

"Garp, please don't punch Tyr." Sandersonia clicked her tongue at him.

"Why not punch the other assholes around here?" Marigold glared at him fiercely.

"You've got quite the cheerleaders here, buhahaha! I can only wish!" Garp laughed boisterously.

"So? You just checking on us or are you gonna teach us something, old fart?" Tyr wanted to learn more.

They've got a solid grasp on their haki now. But they knew there was a much more advanced type of the stuff.

"Fine, fine, impatient brats. I'm working here for free you know?" Garp grumbled.

"We are going on a trip." Garp wanted to hit two birds with one stone. And the answer was to take them with him to his home town, East Blue.

The most peaceful of the blues. "What? How did you get father to agree to that?" Tyr raised a brow.

'You don't need to know. I believe this kid will be great. Just like Dragon... But that lousy brat of mine really need to break off the marines and become one of the most wanted men on the planet?' Garp sighed.

"Just cashed in on a favor." Garp shrugged and Tyr thought that was possible. He now knew that Garp is the hero of the marines.

Though his hatred of the world nobles deepened when he learned of the tri-annual native hunting competition.

"Where are we going though?" Hancock asked and Garp smiled.

"To east blue." Garp thought it was a good idea. He didn't know why they were hiding Tyr's existence.

But the gorosei's condition for him to bring Tyr as an anonymous child didn't concern him.

Though he got curious about it. But Garp knows not to put his nose where it doesn't belong.

"We're going pirate hunting!" Garp laughed and the group looked at each other for a quick second.

"You want us to capture pirates?" Tyr blinked and Garp snickered.

"What? Scared? It's the weakest blue. Gonna chicken out?" Garp tried to rile him up.

"You're so childish, old man." Tyr sighed, he was just surprised that they let Garp go with that plan.

"Heh, Zephyr trains new brats he call elite like that. And ain't no stinking brats of mine can't handle that!" Garp nodded sagely.

"So you're just being a prideful brat." Marigold's tongue definitely matched his cobra themed devil fruit.

Garp winced a bit at that, but he just decided to pull them and put everyone on his shoulders like a sack of potatoes.

"Onwards to east blue, my ship awaits, brats!" Garp ran like the wind towards his ship.

They then arrived at his ship and it was in one word, disappointing.

"Isn't this just a boat?" Hancock deadpanned at him.

"It's not the ship that matters, it's the sailor!" Garp shouted and Tyr looked at his junk.

"Stop explaining old man... You look like you're compensating." Tyr rolled his eyes and he got smacked by Garp.

"Tyr! Why you!" Hancock looked at her sisters and they jumped Garp.

Though he gave them the fist of love too and they were in too much pain to start being sassy.

"Brats these days are too disrespectful." Garp grumbled and he started rowing.

"Won't this take literal months?" Tyr knew that even sailing will take months, even years to go to a far away place.

"You underestimate me, brat. I can make it there in a day." Garp started rowing like a madman.

They started to cut through the water like a speed boat and the sisters went to the cabin in fear of being sent overboard.

"Wait, we will be going through the calm belt to go straight to east blue... Old man, is this boat lined with seastone?" Tyr got nervous.

"What do you think I am? An idiot? Actually, don't answer that." Garp raised his fist as Tyr was about to answer.

"Of course I did, idiot. Without sea stone. The sea kings will notice us." Garp rolled his eyes.

'This seastone mineral is quite a mystery... It can even weaken devil fruit users like the sea or stillwater.' Tyr was fascinated by it.

Based on his research, it is said to contain the sea's metaphysical properties. Basically a magic metal.

Tyr sighed in relief that the boat was lined with seastone.

"But fear not, brat. For we will be going through the grand line first! Buahahaha!" Garp laughed like a maniac.

"Really? You think we're strong enough to take on the pirates in the grand line?" Tyr blinked.

The planet is divided by a huge vertical land mass called the red line. Due to its red color.

And the equator of the planet is called the grand line. A deadly part of the seas that can change seasons in a drop of a hat.

Not to mention the other weird things that happen in it. Though the first half they were on, called Paradise is much, much safer than the other side of the red line, called the new world.

"Only small time pirates are in east blue. Even the most notorious ones there don't even exceed 20 million, max." Garp snorted.

"It's even rare to see haki users in the first part of the grand line. You'd beat the shit out of pirates that even have 100 million bounties, easily." Garp estimated their strength by virtue of being skilled haki users.

"Wow, I knew it was busted. But that strong against normal people who don't use haki? You do know I'm three." Tyr raised a brow at him.

"So what? Age doesn't matter... Forget I said that." Garp facepalmed when he saw Tyr about to comment again.

"Okay, so where are we going in the grand line?" Tyr raised a brow and Garp took out a glass ball with a red pointer inside of it.

"A log pose? Eternal pose?" Tyr was surprised that he had one just for their little excursion.

Due to the weird magnetic fields of the grand line, normal compasses don't work. And thus, the log pose which locks on to an island's direction is made to sail in the grand line.

"It's an eternal pose to Jaya. I asked Sengoku for one buahahaha!" Garp laughed and Tyr sighed.

'Rest in peace, Sengoku.' Tyr prayed for him as Garp would've definitely annoyed him to the best of his abilities.

"What's with Jaya though?" Tyr was curious as he is ignorant of the world outside of Pangea castle.

"It's a pirate hotspot, we're going on a hunting spree!" Garp grinned at them and Tyr nodded.

"You know, I don't even know how to fight properly. Just throw a punch and a kick." Tyr wasn't afraid to confess.

"Heh, I already told you. With haki? Even pirates with 100 million bellies as a bounty will be a piece of cake for your group." Garp nodded sagely.

"Because if they could use it, they'll be much, much higher in the food chain." Garp explained and Tyr nodded in understanding.

He might hate Garp's childish attitude, but he trusted him. You aren't called a hero for nothing.

"Go on and row then, old man." Tyr ordered and Garp deadpanned at him.

"Tch, you're lucky we're on a time crunch." Garp started rowing like a madman once again and their boat even floated after every stroke of the paddles on the water.

Tyr stood on the bow of the ship and he breathed in the winds from the sea.

"Woohoo! Hancock, Sandersonia, Marigold! Come on out! We can just swim and rescue you if you fall! Hahaha!" Tyr spread his arms to feel the wind more.

"No thank you!" The three shouted from the cabin and Tyr sighed with Garp.

"They're missing out." Garp shook his head and Tyr nodded in agreement.

"Truly a travesty, you can only get out of Mary Geoise for a small amount of time." Tyr was going to enjoy this freedom.

He then looked at Garp fondly. 'Thanks, old man. That must've been stressful to facilitate.'

They then went on a beeline straight to Jaya island to hunt themselves some pirates.

__After a day__

Even with Garp's constant speed of 120 knots. They still needed a whole day to arrive at Jaya island.

Showcasing just how far it was. "Damn, this planet is huge as hell." Tyr whistled.

"The marines can use more recruits." Garp gave him a little expectant side eye.

"No." Tyr said plainly and the Boa sisters also shook their heads.

"Where were the marines when we got caught by slavers?" Hancock raised a brow and Garp winced at that.

"Sorry about that, little ones." Garp apologized sincerely.

"Now, now, Garp's not the head of the marines. And slavery is supposed to be banned. The root of the problem is Mary Geoise." Tyr calmed them down.

"You're right, Tyr. Sorry, Garp." Marigold and Sandersonia apologized to him as well.

"Hah, it's a stain on the marines' name. We cannot do anything as we are under the world government." Garp sighed heavily as he rubbed his temples.

Sometimes, he gets jealous of his son. Monkey, D. Dragon. He became a freedom fighter that fights for the people. Without being chained down by the world government.

Something that Garp dreamed of doing before entering the marines with his good friends Sengoku and Tsuru, years back.

"Enough of this depressing talk, we're here to beat some pirates." Garp gestured for them to follow.

Garp took off his marine uniform and wore some shades. Looking like a dandy man who's there for a vacation.

Unfortunately though, Tyr only had suits galore. He was raised as an established gentleman.

So he opted for a more casual one by wearing a plain, charcoal black top and trouser. With a white, long-sleeve shirt underneath.

"You look like a rich kid. With your flowing white locks that's clearly taken care of." Garp deadpanned at him.

Tyr looked and moved too much like a noble. Being ingrained etiquette by the teachers every single day.

"Don't worry about me, Garp. Won't this attract more attention? Hancock, Sandersonia, and Marigold are getting more feminine as well. We'll be swarmed by pirates." Tyr smirked and Garp snorted.

"That's it, brat. Go get em and beat their asses. This place looks like a resort, but Mock town is full of pirates who are resting here." Garp pointed beyond the port.

"I think the best course of action is getting information in a bar." Tyr started walking to the town and Garp nodded, impressed.

'This brat's been in Mary Geoise his whole life. But he's even smarter than the average marine goon.' Garp sighed.

After the era of Roger, the marines were simply getting too complacent.

"Mister, do you know where the bar is? We want to buy some juice." Tyr asked a passerby and they got pointed to a certain direction.

"Thanks, mister." Tyr tossed him a wad of cash and everyone saw it.

"Ohhh, you're quite devious huh?" Hancock realized his plan was already in action.

They then entered the bar with one of those swinging doors.

Everyone stared at them and Tyr just casually waltzed to the bar.

"Some juice please." Tyr took out a wad of cash once again.

"Oi, oi, kid. You sure have some nerve, taking out that much cash here." A malicious looking guy with white dreads stood up with a bunch of men.

Others soon followed and they had grins on their faces, staring right at Hancock, Marigold, and Sandersonia.

They were entering puberty and was of course bombshells due to their incredible diet.

"Hoh? Why is that so?" Tyr asked as he sipped on his juice. His observation haki felt it, they weren't a threat to them.

'I guess Garp was right.' Tyr thanked him in his head.

"For one, I'm Roshio the executioner." He licked his blade.

"I see, so you're one of those huh?" Tyr squinted his eyes.

There were obviously pirates that were like adventurers only. And there were the ones that act like true pirates.

"Let's go then." Tyr took off his coat and put it on the chair.
