The story follows Kael Ardent, an ordinary young man cast into tribulations far beyond anything his former life prepared him for.
Trapped in a world where others fight for another chance at life, Kael instead seeks to understand the forces that brought him to the Tower, and brought these Towers into his own world.
In a place governed by divine and demonic entities, ruled by the law of the jungle, Kael has to navigate these unforgiving encounters while preserving his life, and the fact that only he is alive in the Tower of the Dead.
Small disclaimer. There will be Martial Arts in this story, Murim style not Xianxia. Starting chapter 200+ so please do take note of that

Write a reviewShameless Review of the Author Yes...another book, folks. By yours truly. Hehe. Now, this one? This one is… different. Veterans already know the drill, but for the brave new readers...allow me to break it down for you: (insert meme of someone aggressively breakdancing here hehe) At first glance, sure...it has the usual ingredients. A tower. Monsters. Characters. More monsters. You’ve seen the checklist. But here’s where I committed the greatest sin of all: I added realism. Not the boring, spreadsheet realism. I mean pressure. Consequences. Coherence. The kind of reality that bites back. I could have written the classic power fantasy. MC steamrolls floors like they’re made of paper, collects women like loot drops, becomes absurdly rich, and never struggles for a single breath. Would’ve cost me exactly zero brain cells. But that’s lazy. That’s dull. That’s copy-paste with different names. So instead, I chose pain. I chose weight. I chose stakes. Seventy chapters in...and the MC has spent three days on the first floor. A floor they’re supposed to clear in thirty. “Seventy chapters for that?” you might ask. “Nothing happened, right?” Wrong. More has happened here than in twenty floors of most stories you’ve read. Because this is a slow burn...but never boring. Progression that’s earned. Power that’s paid for. Victory that leaves scars. Nothing is handed out. Everything is bought with suffering. Every gain has a cost. Nothing comes free in life... so why the hell should it in fantasy? I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. And remember: Never hunger for chapters...for I shall provide. Never tire of waiting...for I write daily. Never fear my disappearance...for I will always be here. For the Legion. For you, my dear readers.
With how good Rise of the Undead Legion and Deus Necros are I have high hopes for this one. Though I have to ask if this one will be focused on the undead like the other 2 or will it be something else?
Been reading Baiko work since his first book and everyone keeps being a banger after banger this one no different. It is a slow burn, but because of it, it allows it to go into more details for everyone, and you can see the characters slowly change throughout the book.
I started off with Poison God, Second, Dues Necros now this novel. Up to date at current chapter 74. Wonderful, intense, and addictive just like the rest of his novels. Biako is a great author! His novels always leave you wanting more. Writing quality is always 5 ⭐️’s. Update quality is always 5 ⭐️’s. If he has to change it he always tells us. Story development is 5 ⭐️’s. Fast paced, intense, the humor is always great. Character development 5 ⭐️’s. Haha I for one cannot wait to the see bars of line he’s comes out with for this new MC. Dues Necros has spoiled me. World background is a 5 ⭐️’s, even though this novel is still new he always makes a masterpiece! Thank you for the chapters so far!
Hey! I just read your story, and I’m completely hooked! Your writing is amazing, and I kept picturing how incredible it would look as a comic. I’m a professional commissioned artist, and I’d be so excited to collaborate with you on turning it into on e. if you’re up for it, of course! I think it would be a perfect fit. If you’re interested, message me on Discord (lizziedoesitall). Let me know what you think! Best, Lizzie
I’ve been reading a lot of slop lately, but this—it’s in my top 5 fav webnovels. I’ll definitely check out your other books. Thank you for making such a good read!
One of the best authors on this platform. This is now the fourth book of his that I'm reading and so far it lives up to his other works.
I do not support this!! Author-san, pls leave this novel and put all ur undivided attention on Deus Necros. No wonder I’m not getting like five chapters a day because you were busy writing this novel. We want more chapters on Deus Necros!!!
I've read over a dozen novels on WebNovel, and dozens more manhwa and manga elsewhere, and Biako never lets me down. Runebound has been a delightful read of a character thrust into adversity, scrambling and clawing for any kind of leverage he can get, and I cannot wait to see more!
i havent had the time to read this yet sadly, but if it is anything lile his earlier works its going to be great. so great you will wanna track him down and lock him in a box with only a pc to keep writing chapters
honestly compares wonderfully to his other works like ROTUL and poison gods heritage great work from biako as always
Author Biako
So far I am up fate on the most available chapter ( chapter 56) and I also read Biako's other works, this is the top .01% quality webnovel for sure. The very beginning chapter are a tad on the cliche side but thats where it ends thats for sure. This is a tower story that super detailed, grounded, and very different from your usual power trip, skip many floors and the MC goes through hardship the equivalent of walking in a fart cloud. if you want something that has mystery, growth of character, a detailed tower climbing experience that has a guarantee to be solid worting quality the Biako is known to make, then this is the story for you need to see.
