Chapter 2: Arrangements

Leon was now sat on the couch, redoing their nails after the black nail polish had, more or less, come off entirely. At this point, it had been a couple of hours since they had agreed to accompany Liam on his little journey of going out to do various, seemingly random activities. They remember him excitedly bouncing on their bed before sprinting off to 'make plans' as he put it.

They understood Liam never particularly thought things through fully, so they mentally prepared themselves to fix whatever he had planned, so it could be done more efficiently.

A couple of minutes later they had finished off their nails, discarding the now closed bottle of nail polish on the coffee table, while waiting for their nails to dry. Although they would get bashed by strangers, they still made it a part of their brand to have their nails painted, because if they could always be seen with it, why would people keep complaining?

They soon started to hear rustling coming from Liam's room, only to see him come out soon after, looking as excited as ever.

"So, I've got a list of things we could do, and I want some suggestions." He said, voice getting louder as he came closer to Leon, now leaning against the back of the couch, glancing towards Leon. "Depends, what would you like to do for the next week, hm Liam?" They looked at the other expectedly, waiting for him to start listing out all the activities he had wanted to be planned.

Liam glanced at the other before hopping over the back of the couch, now sitting next to them. "Well, it's nothing fancy but just things that I've been wanting to do." He tilted his notepad a touch so that the other could see what was written clearly. Leon scanned through the list, few things sticking out. Those things we, 'Roller Rink', 'Amusement Park' 'Bike riding' and 'Paintball'.

Personally, Leon didn't think that they should suggest anything, due to the already lengthy list. Though, taking one glance at the other's face, they wouldn't dare not give at least one answer. It didn't take long to come up with something that, admittedly wasn't as active as everything else.

"What about a picnic?" They suggested, not taking their eyes off the notepad. "But that's boring." When they looked up, they saw a slight frown etched into his features. He really did want all this to be exciting, didn't he? They knew that the two would need something to help them calm down from all the activities that Liam liked and, instead, beckoned him to put it down anyway.

They watched as the other did so, reluctantly, yes, but he still did it. Liam then stated that he had everything planned. How they were going to get to these places, pay for them, and how long it would all take. It honestly wasn't bad, except for a big point that Liam seemed to skip out one.

"That's nice and all, but how do you reckon we go without dad noticing, hm?" At that, he went silent. Clearly having not thought that through. They nudged the other lightly with their shoulder, in an attempt to grab his attention. "Don't worry, I'll deal with it. I'll make it work." In all honestly, they weren't too sure how they were going to do this. Sure, they could always work within the timeframe that their father wouldn't be present. That way, it would give them a couple of hours to do what they want before having to hurry home.

Another option was to have their uncle, Phil, cover for them. He was usually the most understanding of the bunch. (The bunch being their uncle, aunt, and father.) It was plausible, yes, though it wouldn't end well on Phil's behalf if the two were caught, and they didn't want to drag Phil into their mess. So, the first one would be a better option.

To their left, they heard a quiet 'Thank you' which was successful in pulling them out of their thoughts. It was oddly uncharacteristically quiet, which, if they didn't know who was sat next to them, they wouldn't have known who it was. Though, it was a fair response all things considered. They knew that Liam wasn't usually one to admit they needed help. Let alone accept it. So, Leon found it rather interesting that they had excepted the help with only slight hesitation.

"Don't worry about it." With that, they offered a small smile which was returned by the other.

They then glanced back down to their nails, which, still weren't completely dried, which was honestly a touch annoying, though understandable considering they probably hadn't been talking for long. "You redid your nails?" They gave them a glance before looking back at their nails, "Yeah, the polish was almost entirely gone so I figured, why not?"

"Looks kinda ugly, if I'm honest." Leon scoffed, mock offended. "You're one to talk."

"I'm learning, what's your excuse, huh? You've been doing it for three years now." At that, they rolled their eyes before getting up. "Tell me what you wanna do tomorrow alright? Don't wait to let it be known." With that, they walked away from the couch and towards the stairs.

They assumed that Liam thought they were heading to their room, though this time, that wasn't exactly the case. Instead, they were going to the father's room to find his schedule. It would be the only way this plan would work, if they didn't know where he would be going, then a time couldn't be placed for when he should come back. And more importantly when they should come back. It would also contribute to if they had to reconsider asking Phil for help or not.

As they approached the bedroom, they hesitated a moment, questioning if it would even be in there, or if he had taken it with him. Which was the more likely answer, but they couldn't be sure. Taking another step forward, they gripped the handle before turning it and pushing the door open. Only now, as they stepped into the room, had they realized they hadn't the slightest clue where it could be.

They took a quick sweep around the room before their attention shifted to the desk that sat in the corner. That's a likely place to put a schedule, right? They weren't sure. They strutted over to the desk, hands settling behind their back before scanning it contents. There honestly wasn't much of anything there but what was on the desk was stacked neatly and put to either side.

Now, here comes the part where Leon didn't think it through properly, their nails were still wet, and they had to go through documents without leaving evidence of their visit. How were they going to do this? They could try their hardest not to have anything touch them, but they were likely to fail at that attempt. They could also just not care, though then they'd have to lie to their father's face. Sometimes it works, most times it does not.

They eventually opted to just try to speed up the process of drying their nails the come back later. They moved their head up a bit only to see a sheet of paper stuck to the wall. Huh. How had they not noticed that before? They quickly scanned through it and grinned upon realizing it was just what they were looking for. How lucky.

They scanned through the information stated before rushing out of the room, heading to their own to write down this newfound information before they forgot.
