Chapter 121: Upgrades x Anger
The next day, when Noctis woke up, a big hologram was in front of him congratulating him.
[Congratulations for upgrading the system. Cool Father's Tavern is upgraded to Almighty Father. Check out the new things sold in the system.]
'Eh? Almighty Father? Dafuq is that? Really man?' Noctis thought to himself.
There is nothing new to the system but when he entered the store, there's a vast of new items in front of him ranging from machinery to your everyday stuff like soap, shampoo, and the likes.
'System what're these changes?' Noctis asked.
[The early system's purpose is for building a tavern and the main focus is around the tavern and tavern related stuff like foods, machine to make processed food, making liquor, but with the new system, there's no such thing as restriction anymore. If you want to learn how to dance, you can buy the skill book for it. Of course there will still be locked things that you would have to scan to get them.] The system said and Noctis slightly understood.
Although it is called Almighty Father System, the upgrade took Noctis' adventurous side and gave him the ability to scan the things he wants by going to other worlds to scan them.
Noctis also saw that he could now plant High-class devil fruits. However they are only single use fruits and the rate that the plant would spawn really good devil fruit is higher than the previous plants.
He slowly removed Irene's hands and gave her a slight kiss before he went to the farming space. He saw Android 17 feeding the animals and ignored him. He sat down beside the world tree and took out a small vial. This is the item he needs to improve his body cultivation and would allow him to transform into a half-dragon humanoid.
The small vial contains the blood of Gandora and the system said that it will change my blood into Dragon Blood. And the final thing that he would need is the Dragon Heart which he would need to eat to replace his feeble heart. When he reached the peak, not even Gods or immortals could stop him.
He drank the vial of blood and he could hear the sizzling of his body. Steam started rising from his body and Noctis removed his upperwear so that it would not burst into flames. Noctis gritted his teeth as he waited for everything to settle down.
It took an hour before everything settled down. When Noctis looked at his right hand, he saw the black dragon scales and felt the power inside of him.
Gandora's power doesn't only bring destruction. Gandora could also absorb anything and turn it into power before releasing them as lasers, destroying everything in its path.
Noctis felt weird that there was a protruding wing in his back and he tried controlling it but he feels awkward, its like he has another arm that he could control in his back. It took him a while before he managed to take control of it and he remembered that he have yet to make his family's breakfast. He retracted the wing and willed himself to become human again. The dragon scales retracted and became human skin once more.
He returned to the tavern and went down the stairs only to see Ram and Rem already cooking. He remembered that he had given spare keys to the twins before the tavern closed up. Heaving a sigh of relief, he helped the duo prepare some meals and woke up everyone.
They went down and eat their meal. Irene had been looking at Noctis weirdly. Others could not see it but she could smell it. She could smell the dragon's blood running through her husband's veins. Noctis saw Irene and flashed her a warm smile as he went and sat down by her side.
"Did you do something again?" Irene asked the obvious.
"Yes. I am part-dragon now. When I mastered the technique, not even Gods could stop me." Noctis said.
"You're already strong my love. Why did you have to do it?" Irene asked with her emotions rumbling.
"Because I don't want you to be alone. I know deep down, you still long to be human. Since I don't have anything that could help you yet, I will accompany you so that you will not be lonely. If you still desire to be human after I found a cure, I won't stop you." Noctis said as he held her wife's waist.
"No, I'm fine with what I am, my love. I'm just afraid that..." Irene stopped and Noctis understood what she's going to say. She's a general and he still have her pride as one. She can't say that she was afraid of being left behind by her husband. She felt unworthy to stand beside him.
"Haha. No need to worry my love. You won't be left behind. On the contrary, you'll be the one leaving me behind." Noctis said as he thought of unleashing chaos from Mama Hawk and letting her have it. He also thought of letting Irene eat a devil fruit. He doesn't need that much power anyway. As long as he could protect his family, all is good.
"Let me cast a rune for you, so that Acnologia wouldn't be able to smell your blood." Irene said solemnly.
"Oh, let him come. Maybe I could repay him for troubles he caused us that day." Noctis said as he felt seething anger against Acnologia. The indirect damage Acnologia did to Erza when she was young... he just can't forgive it. Erza was forced to let others bully her so that she would have friends to tell her father, Noctis clenched his fist.
Ram, Rem, and Irene noticed Noctis' anger and Irene gave her husband a warm hug.
"Calm down my dear. You're scaring everyone." Irene said as she glanced at everyone and the chipmunks who were staring at their father.
Noctis breathed cold air and sighed.
"Sorry. I lost control." Noctis said as he stood up and caressed the children's heads as they held their father's hand.
"Papa, have a taste. Its delicious. Papa say ahhhh." Kagura said as she scooped some ice cream and fed her father with the ice cream.
"Here papa, this is delicious too. Have a taste! Say aaahhh." Erza offered a piece of strawberry shortcake to her father.
"Hmmm... I don't know if Papa will like it... but here... have a taste, its delicious too." Pitou said as she reluctantly offered taiyaki to her father.
Seeing the kids cheering him up, Noctis felt warm as he smiled and obliged to their request. He then vowed to himself that he won't let anyone harm his family. Anyone who does, he won't let them off easily.
