Chapter 999: WHAT A WEIRD MAN!

"Lester, why are you here?" Eloise asked when she noticed him standing on a balcony, gazing up at the starry sky.

He turned his head and frowned. "What do you mean? I am your Beta now. So you can't question my actions."

Eloise rolled her eyes at him. "You don't miss a chance to boast your title, do you?!"

Lester smirked, leaning casually against the railings of the balcony.

"By the way what are you doing here at this time? Shouldn't you be taking your beauty sleep?"

"I couldn't sleep. But shouldn't you be at the dinner my father is hosting tonight? He has invited all the nobles from Vincardine as well as from the neighbouring towns and cities."

Lester's face changed its expression. "Lady Theodora asked me to join, but I don't see a good enough point in it. I mean I barely know these people, and they aren't all werewolves.

So I am not bound to attend this dinner as a werewolf Beta. Besides, I get sick hearing their lame jokes and useless competitiveness."
