Rees and Kevin were instantly alert. Their wolves were ready to come out feeling energised by the soft moonlight that fell on them. Zoe pushed Thea away subtly as she kept her eyes locked with the pair of obsidian.

Thea wanted to run to Ruth, but that would have only given out a hint to the man standing in front of her. He might rip her into shreds if she dared to even lift her finger.

Edwin's obsidian eyes flickered with electric blue thunder as he looked around. He sniffed, trying to catch the scent he was craving for.

Kevin hoped that the reformulated masking solution that Mrs Payne had prepared would work well and mask the scent of a human.
