Chapter 7: Attack
It was early in the morning and the sun hadn't risen yet but the birds were still chirping and filling the entire environment with their beautiful music. The entire town was surrounded by forest so somehow it felt even more calming
It was still dark but it still felt nice the world was fast asleep , the wind was blowing swiftly as if trees were happy because it was going to be sunrise, overall it felt nice but Shawn who was running non stop didn't mind any of these things
Shawn's head was filled with dark thoughts , his demons and his nightmares, it's not the first time that he had nightmares. Every time he had nightmares he went to nature , Nature always calmed him down , the forest in his towns were his favorite place he would come and walk around and walk in the park situated near the forest , but today he had a horrible dream a really horrible dream and even the nature was not able to make his anxiety go away
In today's dream he saw that his entire family was dead , the entire Jones family was killed right in front of his eyes and he couldn't do anything , it was so horrible that Shawn nearly had a panic attack .
Shawn loved his family dearly if anything happened to them then Shawn won't be able to live , then he had the Grace's in his mind that fucking company is creating a lot of troubles for them , taking their deals , sending their spies to the company , trying to hack into their system , just for a fucking piece of property.
Shawn already had a lot on his mind and now these Grace's. Another thing which filled Shawn's mind was the kid he saved fourteen years ago . Shawn hoped that wherever the kid he saved is happy and living nicely , Shawn really wanted to meet that kid again and see with his own eyes whether that kid was okay or not , and if not then Shawn will make sure that the kid gets what he deserves.
Shawn was so into his thoughts that he didn't notice a speeding car coming towards his way , the car going to hit him but thankfully someone pulled him before the car could hit him and he fell down along with the other person who pulled him.
It was Dylan who saved Shawn's life , Shawn was quite shaken after the incident so he didn't speak .
"Shawn are you okay?" Dylan asked Shawn to calm his breathing then looked at Dylan and nodded.
"Shawn we have to get out of here, right now " Dylan said in a panicked voice ,Shawn looked at him confusingly
"what happened ?" No sooner than Shawn said this they heard gunshots around them
"I hope now you know why, come on let's go" saying so Dylan grabbed Shawn's hand and ran towards the forest.
Both Shawn and Dylan ran inside the forest and a few men came after them.
"Find them and bring them to me" Someone said
Shawn instantly recognised that voice , he knew that voice very well "Dylan what is he doing here"
"Shawn I will tell you everything once we are at a safe place" Dylan said and tightened his hold on Shawn's hand. The voice belonged to none other than Lucas
Shawn didn't know for how long they ran , while they were running Shawn noticed some blood on his hand but this blood wasn't his when he looked at Dylan he saw that the latter's arm was bleeding , Shawn didn't say anything he just made a mental note to treat Dylan's wounds later on.
They sat beside a rock using the rock as a shield only hoping that the other men wouldn't see them, fortunately all the men who were chasing them ran in the other direction. Finally both of them sighed with relief when they felt that they were safe , Shawn looked at Dylan , it was clear that he wanted some explanation from the latter.
"Some people broke into my work place yesterday and they fired bullets at us and were able to free Lucas , this wound is from yesterday's shooting , thankfully the bullet wasn't stuck inside but i think the wound opened again when we fell before , I wanted to inform you guys about this but nobody picked up my phone but fortunately I found you here, yeah that's all"
Dylan said then closed his eyes and leaned against the rock ,he let go of Shawn's hand and clutched his wound , he looked quite disappointed and sad the dark circles under his eyes proved that he hadn't had a good sleep in a while , in addition to that his face looked pale.
Shawn noticed all these details and then suddenly touched Dylan's forehead with the back of his hand "you have a fever, did you get any other injury other than the bullet wound" Shawn asked and Dylan nodded.
"I'll go and see if I can get something to apply over the wound" Shawn said but before he could get up Dylan grabbed his hand and pulled him down again.
"Don't be a fool Shawn ,"
"I'll be fine don't worry about me" Before Dylan could say anything else Shawn again said "I have been through these kinds of situation before don't worry about me ,I am not a fool I know how to be careful" Shawn said and then leaned forward towards Dylan making the later literally stop breathing Shawn touched Dylan's waist and then took out his gun
After taking the gun Shawn pulled back and Dylan was finally able to breathe again , Dylan couldn't deny that his heart started to beat faster when Shawn came close to him
"Here, see I have your gun , now I have something to protect myself ,so don't worry" and with that Shawn stood up and walked away carefully leaving behind Dylan who was going to die because of his worries if not because of his injuries.
'please be okay Shawn' Dylan thought
