Chapter 1: Chapter 1
*gasp*
I suddenly opened my eyes and started to look around with a 'what the fuck just happened' look on my face.
I noticed I was sitting in a nice comfy chair and in front of me was a beautiful-looking desk. It was gold plated and It had intricate designs on the edges and the sides, it looked absolutely priceless. I continued to look around me and I was astounded. It looked like I was in a huge hall and it seemed to go on and on and on from both sides. The pillars that were supporting the ceiling were enormous. I looked like an ant compared to them. I inspected the floor and noticed that it looked like it was made out of gold. It was really clean and perfect. It also had the same intricate designs as the desk and the chair and it looked like light was emanating from beneath the floor.
While I was busy mesmerizing the environment, I hadn't noticed a man sitting right at the front desk.
"...".
"...".
"Hello there".
"WHAT THE FU...?!". I screamed while jumping out of the chair.
The mysterious man raised an eyebrow and chuckled while pulling a little smile on his face.
I landed behind the chair and looked with a panicky expression on my face and yelled.
"Where the fuck did you come from?! And who are you?!"
The mysterious man had his arms on the desk and folded his hands and placed them under his chin to support his head and had an amused look on his face still. I observed the man who appeared out of thin air. He had a black suit on that perfectly matched his body with a red necktie, golden-colored glasses on, and a handsome face (pause). He also had a gentleman-like aura around him, If he was from where I was from, he'd have chicks surrounding him.
A few seconds of silence had passed when he suddenly reached under the desk and pulled a brown-colored file. He placed it on the desktop and was skimming through the file while he was taking a few glances at me.
I looked at him curiously while I was slowly making my way back to the chair with my eyes still on him.
I kept looking at him while he was busy looking at the file. There was an awkward silence when I finally decided to do something.
I pulled a fist up to my mouth and cleared my throat attempting to get his attention. He stopped and looked at me for a moment. He closed the file and slid it to the side. He pulled his glasses from his face and tucked them into his breast pocket. He folded his hands and leaned on his chair and just looked at me with a serious expression. I felt like I was in a job interview.
"So...Kane Hendrix. Looks like you had a rough day huh?"
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Well, you died." He said while tilting his head
I looked at him like he was joking. As I was about to say something else a memory suddenly surfaced and got a stinging headache. I squinted my eyes and put my hand on my head. The headaches slowly stopped and I slowly opened my eyes. I remembered that I was in New York and that It was raining, I was walking and when I was crossing the street, I noticed a young girl who was running after a balloon and I saw a truck coming out of nowhere. I rushed toward her and pushed her out of the way and then suddenly...I woke up here.
I was perplexed. I scratched the back of my head, and said while looking at the man: " Oh shit...I really died".
I leaned forward, resting my arms on my legs. Shocked at what I had just remembered.
The man saw how I was having difficulty grasping the reality that I had just died. He tried to calm me down.
"Take it easy. Take it slow, alright". said the man.
He went continued.
"Well, why don't you look at it this way...at least you died doing the right thing". He said.
I had a doubtful look on my face, and then I remembered how I saved the little girl from instant death. I leaned back on the chair and stared at the ceiling that looked big as the sky.
"Hehe...yeah. At least I did". I said
While I was still contemplating this whole situation, a thought just struck me like lightning. I leaned forward and looked at the man in front of me...
and then... it suddenly hit me. I thought to myself.
"I saved a little girl, got hit by a truck that came out nowhere, died and I'm now faced to face with a mysterious being". I looked at the man and a big smile was starting to appear on my face. My eyes were starting to sparkle.
"Don't tell me...". I said while having tears of joy.
The man looked at me and nodded confirming what I had just thought about.
"You guessed it. consider yourself the luckiest man in the world or maybe in all of reality". He chuckled
and with a big smile, he said: "Your gonna be reincarnated".
I stood up, jumped on the desk, and shouted from the top of my lungs.
"YYYYYEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!".
