Chapter 15: Chapter 15 - What now?
"You didn't have to order Mitsuri to cut her hand to prove your point right?" Ace questioned with a stern voice.
"Yeah, yeah, but we can't also forget her sins because she turned into a human? well, as long as she is not hungry for humans anymore we can let her live." Shinobu said without any guilt.
"So that was it? She ate and killed many innocent people and she won't get punished?" Mitsuri asked she is not asking out of hate but to clear the issue.
Mitsuri wanted to talk about Mukago's punishment right now. It is better to do it now instead of doing it later where all of the Hashiras are present.
Being one of the twelve kizuki means that Mugako killed and ate her fair share of humans. Not all of the Hashira can forgive that because she turned into a human.
"First we should confirm that she won't turn into a demon again after a few days, weeks, or even months," Oyakata suggest.
At first, Mugako is confused about everything, why the girl with pink hair attacks and severely her hand, why are they deciding about her fate. did she do any wrong? so many questions but suddenly her memories start flooding in.
"Nooooo!!! That thing is not me! He killed them, he killed them all," Mukago started to shout random things from denying that she is a demon to the death of her family or friends.
Ace sigh and knock Mukago unconscious. "Sorry about that, It seems that her memory starts to return. I suggest to contain her for 2 days with one of the Hashira guarding her."
"Your reasons?" Oyakata questioned.
"Hashiras semi-annual will commence 3 days from now, meaning if this girl is contained they will ask several questions about why is a human chained and some will take the easy route which is killing her."
"Don't you think you are overreacting Ace-kun?" MItsuri asked, "Turning a demon into a human is a huge accomplishment...and Hashiras are good people!"
"Yes I know that is why they are sacrificing their safety to make the world a safer place, but I think you also know that some of them can't take the fact that a demon will be free of her crimes because it became a human," Ace explains his view.
"What about this? If she turns out fine then she can redeem herself," Mitsuri suggests.
"What is your idea of redemption Mitsuri?" Oyakata asked.
"She killed a number of humans, she must save a human for every human that she killed, Umm... that is my idea," Mitsuri voice is getting quieter with every word she said.
"Do you think that was enough Ace? Shinobu?" Oyakata asked.
"It will not correct her actions but we know that demon's thoughts are getting twisted by Kibutsuji, She is a victim too," Ace said that but he doesn't know what it feels like to lose a precious member of a family.
"Then that was it, we can make a decision after proving she permanently turned into a human," Oyakata said.

"So what now? Do we turn all of the demons we encounter into human?" Mitsuri asked.
"That is impossible," Ace answered.
"Stronger demons are harder to kill, even more so to capture alive. It will only put our lives into more danger," Shinobu answered.
"Shinobu-san's right, A stronger demon will rather fight you to death, I am just lucky that demons are vulnerable to my power, but that situation doesn't apply to you," Ace said.
It is true, Ace's power is convenient to turn demons into humans, but there is some flaw, the upper ranks, The Hashiras cannot knock them easily, only Ace will have the chance of doing that by using heal.
Ace is still not sure if his heal will be effective on much stronger demons.
"So I guess we still need to tell the Hashiras about this situation huh?" Ace questioned.
"Naturally, We cannot leave our main fighting force in the dark, but don't worry I will not let them kill her," Oyakata said.
"I will trust you on that, A human should not be killed by a human," Ace left the scene, He trusts that Oyakata will make the best decision in their current situation.
This is the first time the entire demon slayer corps encounter this case, A demon fully turning into a human. There are so many uncertainties, unlike Nezuko, who never eaten a human, Mukago eaten a number of them.
Oyakata tasked some people to chain Mukago who is still wearing her demon outfit to someplace where sunlight is strongest. Tomorrow they will see if Mukago is still affected by sunlight.

Ace is walking right now and pondering if his action is right or wrong. He wanted to save the demons but do the demons even want to live?
After knowing what kind of crimes they did, what kind of things they did when they are a demon. Do they have the conscience to deal with that? A normal person will go insane knowing that they've eaten another human.
'To truly finish this insanity I need to eliminate the root of the problem, the progenitor of demons, Kibutsuji Muzan, but right now I don't know if I can even kill him,' Ace thought.
Ace knows that the corps will interrogate Mukago when tomorrow under the sun. He also knows that Mukago doesn't have any information about Kibutsuji, for precise information they need to hunt upper ranks.
After some time of walking, Ace reaches some kind of quarters where he can rest his tired body.
'I will leave the future problem to the future me,' Ace thought as he sleeps peacefully.
