Chapter 32: Plotting (32)

"Alright, I forgot to say, you've got 30 minutes to land a hit on me," Kenzo said with a playful smirk, deftly dodging another one of Maki's strikes. He had now upped the stakes, challenging her to overcome his evasive maneuvers and finally make contact.

As Maki prepared to strike again, Kento suddenly appeared in front of her, his face inches away from hers. The proximity sent a jolt of surprise through her, momentarily causing her to hesitate. Kenzo swiftly retreated, skillfully eluding any potential retaliation.

Maki's temper flared, a mix of frustration and determination welling up within her. She scowled at Kenzo, his teasing only fueling her desire to land a solid hit. She understood his intention—to test her resolve, to push her limits—and she refused to let him undermine her.

Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Maki refocused her energy. She disregarded Kenzo's taunts, channeling her anger into precision and control. Every movement became deliberate, calculated. She studied his patterns, analyzing his elusive techniques, and strategized her next move.

Time seemed to fly as the intense battle continued. Maki unleashed a relentless assault, her strikes becoming faster and more precise. Kenzo danced around her, his agility and speed pushing her to the limit. But Maki refused to back down. She had a fire burning within her, a burning determination to prove herself.

As the minutes ticked away, Maki's frustration transformed into resolve. She channeled her emotions into her attacks, each strike carrying the weight of her determination. Her focus intensified, blocking out distractions and honing in on Kenzo movements.

With each passing moment, Maki grew more attuned to Kenzo's strategies. She anticipated his dodges and feints, adjusting her tactics accordingly. Her strikes became sharper, inching closer to their target. The battle became a dance of skill and will, each participant pushing themselves to their limits.

The pressure mounted as the time dwindled. Maki's body moved with fluidity and precision, each strike propelled by her unwavering spirit. She saw an opening, an opportunity to finally make contact. With a burst of energy, she launched herself forward, her strike aimed directly at Kenzo.

Whether she would succeed in landing a hit within the given time frame remained uncertain. But in that moment, Maki's determination burned fiercely, pushing her forward. She refused to let her temper cloud her judgment. With every ounce of strength, she aimed to seize the moment and prove herself capable.

Time seemed to freeze as her strike closed in, the outcome hanging in the balance. And in that thrilling instant, Maki unleashed her full power, her focus unwavering.

He dodged the attack while barely moving, this was bullying and he needed to stop soon.

"Hey, Maki, you're doing great with your technique, but you need to watch your footwork," Kenzo would say, a smirk playing on his lips. "If you adjust your stance just a bit, you'll have more balance and power behind your strikes. Not that it'll make much of a difference against me, but it's good to know, right?"

He would then demonstrate the adjustments himself, effortlessly showcasing the improved technique. Maki, torn between annoyance and appreciation, couldn't help but admit that his suggestions were beneficial.

She was usually the one giving advice but there she was getting advice from a first-year who had just learned about the world of curse and curse spirit about a few months back.

A complete beginner.

"And here's another little secret," Kenzo added, raising an eyebrow mischievously. "Try feinting more during our sparring sessions. Keep me guessing. I know you're strong, but sometimes a little trickery goes a long way. Not that you'll fool me, but it might make things interesting, don't you think?"

Maki looked at Kenzo as he muttered out those words, like did he really have to make it sound like that, sure. He was being helpful but did he have to make it sound like that?

Did he really have to make it sound like that, she would punch him later that was for sure.

Sometime she swore that this boy was just a mini less annoying Gojo but he was getting there.

With only five minutes remaining in the spar, Maki had not managed to touch Kenzo even once, while he had taken advantage of the time to playfully draw on her face.

....

She might have lied about being the less annoying version of Gojo.

As the realization dawned on her, Maki's determination surged, fueling her with a newfound resolve.

Her eyes narrowed as she wiped away the drawing on her face, a mix of determination and competitiveness radiating from her. She refused to let Kenzo playful antics distract her any longer. It was time to turn the tables and show him the full extent of her skills.

With a burst of agility and precision, Maki launched a rapid series of attacks, each strike aimed with calculated accuracy. She weaved through Kenzo defenses, evading his counterattacks with expert finesse.

She started to attack him with much more force to which he ducked in and out of her move, really, this was fun for him.

She held the wooden staff in one of her hands before rushing toward Kenzo the next second.

Kenzo smiled at that, she really seem like she wanted to end him.

He could tell that she was really trying with each hit

However, in the final minutes, Kenzo decided to add a playful twist to their spar. Each time Maki lunged forward to strike, he would disappear and reappear inches from her face, only to vanish again before she could react. It was as if he was teasing her, testing her patience and focus.

Maki's frustration grew as Kenzo continued his elusive antics. She was determined to land a hit and prove herself, but Kenzo's mischievous behavior made it increasingly challenging. She couldn't help but feel a mix of annoyance and amusement at his teasing tactics.

With a mix of determination and a touch of exasperation, Maki adjusted her strategy once more. She anticipated Kenzo's sudden appearances and adapted her movements to counter his elusive nature. She refused to let his trolling antics distract her from her goal.

Meanwhile.

Somewhere else, Mahito was seen looking slightly damaged but alright, he sat down in a corner before laughing a bit to himself.

"So that was Satoru Gojo huh," Mahito said as he leaned his back against the wall.

He had only escaped this place because of simple reasons.

He just offers an old man his youth again in exchange for his freedom, the man did it without hesitation and was rambling on and on about how he  is now at his peak.

Human truly do believe themself to be the superior specie on this planet, they see curse as something horrible that shouldn't exist.

When they themself are curse, they the reason curse exist to begin with, just like a jujutsu sorcerer wouldn't have a problem with killing a curse that the same for him.

He was after all,a truth curse....
