Chapter 2: Surveillance Day 1 -Chapter 1-
-Surveillance Day 1.-
The slime has found a tree. Unaware of its surroundings, it got stuck jumping into the tree for 2 hours.
After finally realizing it was going nowhere, it changed its direction. After about half an hour of jumping around in random directions, it became hungry. Without sight, it decided to eat the grass beneath it. This satiated it.
Eating the grass gave the Slime it's first skill, 'Absorb.' This skill allows the slime to dissolve matter that enters its body, a skill which all slimes have. The slime is still oblivious to the fact it has gained the skill.
The slime has jumped into a lake. Of course, it has no idea that it has done so. Luckily enough, slimes are very buoyant, making it possible for the slime to swim out. That would be if it was smart enough to do so. Without the ability to jump, the slime has become increasingly confused.
A common fish swam into the slime, unconsciously being absorbed by it.

The Slime, receiving its first level up, becomes scared by the voice, managing to swim itself out of the lake. This is most certainly due to its increase in Intelligence, or luck.
The slime, still being frightened by the announcement that alerted the slime over a minute ago, jumped away far from the lake.
The slime did this for hours, night now approaching. Of course, it had no reason for fearing night, as it did not even know of its existence.
It makes it's way to a cliffside, jumping straight off of it. Like when it jumped into the lake, it became very confused, not knowing why it could not jump. However, this time it remembered the lake incident, attempting to swim... However, this failed also.
Before the slime could even wonder what was happening to it, its body splat onto the ground.

It is left with 50% of its health after the fall, thanks to its inborn skill 'Physical Resistance.'
It is now able to feel pain and feel the space around it. Because of this, it is now writhing in pain.
After a long time of this, the pain subsided, allowing the slime to move once again. It has become exasperated at its ability to feel, so it has begone feeling all objects around itself to become so that it remembers the feeling later.
The slime has run into its first fellow monster, or more of jumped onto its first fellow monster. The monster it is sitting on is the Pharelex Morealph, otherwise known as the Horned Hare. A usually quiet, docile creature corrupted by the message.
By blind luck, it seems the slime has the Horned Hare in its body, already absorbing it. It tries to escape, but its body is already being dissolved.

The announcement startles the slime again, but it seems less wary of it this time. Remembering the same noise from when it was stuck in the lake, and when it had fallen. This is after it made sure it could still jump, of course.
After the long day of failing at simple tasks, the slime falls asleep... After falling into a hole.

Jearbear Here's the first chapter! This one is a bit short as our slimy protagonist isn't able to think yet... or really do much of anything of interest. Anyway, the chapters are gonna get longer after this
