Chapter 6: Meeting the Knights

The next day after getting messages from the rest of the knights after they had their mission complete there was only one person not attending. So after thinking about it I already had a pretty good idea what I was going to do.

Allowing disobedience from vassals especially the player ones would make it seem like I can be challenged and my orders are suggestions. To fix this problem there is one solution and that is the extermination of the player house. Obviously the player won't die in real life and may not even learn from his mistakes but it has little to do with me.

So this morning with my family we are going to welcome them through the portal. They are all supposed to message when they are ready so I can accept them through. The first to arrive is a man with his guards but no other family. He also looked to be in his thitys which is bad at this time with no children.

He stepped forward got on a knee and bowed his head and said "my lord" with his men following his example. "Welcome to Goldport you are the first to arrive stand and get behind me till we are done getting everyone through" I ordered. "Yes my lord" He said getting up with his men and heading behind us and facing the portal. He had thirty guards with him which makes sense it's the max non players you can take through. I was surprised at first expecting him to have less as only a knight until I remembered how large this land is now and how popular he probable has many villages under him. Next through was a fairly large family. About 8 men and 2 women appearing to be all players except for one of the women. The leader was an elderly man with his elderly wife(the non player) and their 5 sons. The other women was the eldest sons wife and mother of his two children it seemed. The grandfather stepped forward and seemed hesitant on what to do. So one of his sons came up and whispered something to him.

"Ah right sorry my old age gets to me sometimes(totally not an excuse) it also stops me and from kneeling but the rest of my family can" he said while bowing as much as he can as the rest of his family get on a knee while the women curtsied or in the grandmothers case tried and failed miserably. "Welcome to Goldport please move behind me we have more to welcome introductions will be later" I ordered. This went on for a while on welcoming the ten families that showed while the other never did.(I'll introduce them as they become relevant to the story)

After we all arrived in the main hall we introduced our selves to eachother and they all seemed to relax and start talking to eachother freely. I pulled aside the three houses who weren't knights but distantly related to some of the AI ones. After asking some questions like the type of house they are I then found out that so that the military houses wouldn't just conquer the other players in the realm or intrigue ones killing everyone off the game clumped people together based on their House type. My vassals themselves were fairly diverse in appearnece some black hair and brown eyes as well as blue eyes etc and from what I learned they were the slaves from when my family moved from Valyria we didn't have the population to inhabit the lands so released them as vassals for the strongest and loyalist ones and put them in charge of the rest making the knight houses.

After finding the one I was looking for which is house Darkov and branch of house Sarkov one of my knightly houses. What I was looking for is a house with a women of childbearing age that is unmarried and has his own heir as well. Then I pulled over the Plymouth knight(30 yr old lonely guy first to come) and I gave them an offer.

The Plymouth guy would marry the Darkov Knights daughter and in return will help the Darkov family conquer the rebellious house and the land will go to the Darkov family. The Darkov family will return home after the wedding for his cousins help as well( house Sarkov main branch of the Darkov family) chances are he will accept as it gets him an ally and more influence. This way the family is set up in a three way alliance with the fact that if the Plymouth knight has any daughter she will marry a Sarkov to complete the alliance.

In return for this I get more loyal vassals who see a bright future under my leadership and show what happens to disobedience without having to waste any of my own army. After we complete the deal and each of it sign it we announce it to the rest of the knights. They all seem to accept it and it appears another family with another daughter has taken an intrest in the Darkov family so chances are there alliance will spread which is what I want. I get loyal vassals and it appears to everyone around our realm my vassals are so devoted to me they take it upon themselves to punish traitors and I reward them for it. It's a win win for everyone involved absolutely no one loses anything. Nothing at all…. Except for the rebellious lord….he dies.

After introductions are done with everyone is shown to their own rooms while I set up a small competition for tomorrow to get the festivities up and satisfying all our love for battle and what batter way then our own little Olympics I just have to find out what challenges there will be. The obvious is horse riding some archery and dueling are a must. Then some wrestling as well because who doesn't want to show who is stronger.

Vote/Ideas for what challenges the Olympics type event holds some were already given any others you guys would think would fit. You will know next chapter why it will be a major event that has some influence over the world. Remember they don't have tourneys or anything like this till the annals arrive so it will be a new thing to see and over time it will expand with other realms joining in.
