The sound signalled the start of the treasure hunt in which I was also a participant in.

Damn, why are they so fast?

The people competing with me were already a few metres ahead of me.

The goal of this 'race', if you could even call it that, was to reach run as fast as you could to the raffle box and pick a slip from within it. Then you had to bring the thing written in that slip to the judges as fast as you can. The fastest one to do it would be the winner.

The good part was that this event wasn't worth many points. So even if I lost it wouldn't be such a big deal.

I finally managed to reach the raffle box 5 seconds after the second last person. The others had already taken their slips and ran to get their objects. At this point there was only one slip remaining in the box, so it wasn't that much of a lottery for me. I quickly pulled it out and unfolded it.
