Chapter 49: Laid to rest pt.3

Alva glared back at Lucius as he pushed her further into the frozen marsh.

"Why the nasty look? You should be thanking whatever god would take you that your still alive. Or... Breathing?" Lucius replied, tilting his head.

"The blade at my back." She shortly replied.

"Fine." He said, sheathing his blade. "I'm curious, is this movarth really the one in the book, or just a fan?" Lucius glanced at the vampire.

"Why are you talking to me? I'm the big bad monster remember." Alva huffed as she continued her march towards the lair.

"Any man, or even beast, can criticise, complain, and condemn... And most prats do so without a second thought. Seeing the bigger picture, and the countless possibilities of a situation makes for a stronger temperament." Lucius voiced looking ahead into the misty swampland. "Recently, I feel the need to better myself from the cocky and opinionated man that I was. Who's to say this Movarth hasn't been controlling you as you did to Laelette and Hroggar?" He smirked when he saw her eyes swirl in ill hidden fear.

"Tsk... He wouldn't. We love each other." Alva clicked her tongue at the ridiculous suggestion, but her brows softly creased.

"The same way Hroggar loves you?" Lucius let out a short laugh.

"Movarth does love me, or why else would he give me this strength? This power." She said with her chin lifted. "It would've worked out in the end if not for you poking your head where it's not wanted." She glared back at him.

Lucius simply raised a brow at the vampires devotion, as they came to a stop at a small rocky opening with two braziers at either side of the entrance. "Well, believe it or not, I hope he feels the same way. I am a sucker for a good romance."

"Of course you are. Flowery ponce." Lucius heard her curse under her breath.

"A wee bit hypocritical, love." Lucius chimed. "My life is dreary. Where is my prince to come and rescue me? Where is my bold Nord warrior to sweep me off my feet~?" He mocked in a high pitched and feminine voice. "Come on, you're the bait." He said, pushing her in the lair.

"Heh, you'll regret this you know. He's stronger than all of us." Alva grinned.

'How do these idiots not know who I am?' Lucius thought with genuine confusion.

"Sure~ I'm already trembling, look." He mockingly shook his hand as he rolled his eyes.

The cave walls adorned a thin black layer blood drenched ice as Lucius entered, gradually fading into the sleek dark greys he's seen numerous times as the moist walls delved further into a steep abyss.

The dark and foreboding atmosphere came to quick stop as Lucius shot a small orb of light down the cavern, a duo of frostbite spiders briefly glinting against its magic rays before they turned to white dust.

The further down they went the fouler the stench of old corpses became, causing Lucius to hold his sensitive nose. "How do you handle this? Vampires have enhanced sense too, right?" Lucius asked, the sound of water dripping echoed throughout the cave as they came upon a lit area.

"You get used to it." She smiled, facing forward towards the light.

In the centre of the room is a well-lit table covered with all sorts of food and wares. A lone man sat at the tables head as his piercing red eyes swept over Lucius's form.

"Well well, you did good getting him on our side, Alva." The master vampire gave a nasty smile.

"You love that ugly thing? Just how desperate were you? You're by no means ugly and you settled for that beast?" Lucius laughed. "Oh, i'm so glad I decided to do this by myself."

"What did you call me!?" Movarth sneered.

"Sit down." Lucius swung his arm down, slamming the vampire back into his seat.

Seeing such a display made Alva shrink back. If her master couldn't resist then why should she even attempt fleeing? A suffocating veil entered the cave as Lucius raised his dimly lit left arm and began walking slowly towards Movarth.

"Before I kill you I have questions." he smiled. "1. Are you the Author of Immortal blood? 2. Did you receive orders from a man named Harkon? And finally, Is Alva under your direct control?" Lucius finished his questions with a calculating gaze and sat on the table facing the man.

"If you're going to kill me anyway, why should I answer?" Movarth grinned in small triumph.

"Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but sometimes death is the far better option... Considering you'll likely be raped in coldharbour upon arrival- i'll let your imagination run wild." Lucius kindly smiled, patting his cheek.

"W-what's Coldharbour?" Alva asked after mustering up the courage to face the new monster in the room.

"Lover boy didn't tell you when he turned you, eh?" Lucius glanced back. "It Molag Bal's realm of Oblivion, i've heard he's a great host... So, my questions?"

"I'm not the author but it was about me, I used to be a vampire hunter before the monk turned me. The Volkihar clan has numerous posts across Skyrim getting ready to strike... cgh! Of course I used my underlings, they're just that, underlings!" He choked on his own saliva as Lucius's magic tightened around his throat.

"Expand on that last one for me." He demanded, his eyes freezing over.

"I used illusion magic to ensure my bidding was fulfilled and seduced her becau- haha! Because she was so easy to fool with her girlhood dreams, haha!" Movarth laughed uncontrollably.

'Damn...This jus-

Lucius's musing were cut short when Alva shot forward in a burst of bats and sliced her masters neck open.

"Hey, I wasn't done..." Lucius drawled. "He had informat-

"Just do that magic shit you did to Laelette!" She snapped, tears running down her face.

"Damn, alright then." He muttered. "So technically you're an unwilling accomplice... Congratulations! You get to live." He flashed her a thumbs up and a smile.
