Chapter 2: Chapter 2

He felt woozy for some reasons. The stepping on the bright shit scene kept on replaying in his mind. His eyelids felt heavy as laziness ruled all over his body so he complied with his laziness and chose not to open his eyes, not bothering to move a limb. He could hear muffled cries, sniffles, and whispers as if a lot of people were with him. His mind gradually cleared as well as the extreme laziness he felt so he slowly opened his eyes.

Bright light greeted him so he blinked his eyes rapidly for a moment to adjust to the lighting. He groggily looked around as he wrapped his head on the current situation he's in.

He was in an unfamiliar room filled with unfamiliar people who were either busily crying or whispering to one another, not even noticing that he was finally awake.

Did these people save me when I lost consciousness?

The last thing he remembered was when he stepped on a shit, it shone brightly, blinding him in the process and then he woke up in here. That shit was really odd though. It was his first time seeing a shining silver shit. If it was discovered by mad scientists it would probably be experimented in a lab or if a collector saw it, it would be displayed in a museum. Imagine, a shining shit displayed in a museum. That would be quite the sight.

He was still immersed in his own thoughts when the worried black haired beauty beside him finally noticed that he was awake. The woman was overjoyed but immediately assumed a calm and collected demeanor when the maids finally also noticed that he was awake.

"Bocchan is finally awake!"

"Bocchan really worried us there."

"Bocchan, how are you feeling?"

"Bocchan…"

Ryo finally snapped out of his daze as he looked at the people surrounding his bed and tilted his head in a questioning manner. He was quite confused on why these unfamiliar people were calling him young master. Coupled with his big ruby eyes, tawny skin, and pinkish lips, the people who saw it can't help but squeal in their hearts on how cute the young master was.

"Ryo, how are you feeling? Any discomfort?" The woman beside him asked gently, although she looked stern, the warmth in her eyes was overflowing that it overshadowed her intimidating aura.

Ryo couldn't help but question himself if these unknown people have mistaken him for someone else. Just as he was about to ask, memories that weren't his started filling up his mind. He shut his eyes in pain as he gripped his head, trying to ease the intense throbbing of his brain.

The woman was worried once again as she ordered the maids around to call for the family doctor. The maids hurriedly complied and left to call for the doctor. The woman held the soft small hands gently as she caressed the boy's head, reassuring him with comforting words. That everything would be okay.

The whispers of comforting words eased his pain like magic as he gripped the woman's hand tighter, afraid that the comforting feeling would leave him along with the woman's warmth.

It was memories about the family, traditions and other things of the boy he's in. He couldn't help but doubt the memories a little so even though his head was still throbbing a little, he jumped off from the bed to confirm something. The sudden hit of vertigo stopped his movements. The woman jumped from shock as she hurriedly went beside the boy worriedly and held him.

"You shouldn't stand up so abruptly like that. You have just recovered so rest for a while. I'll get whatever you need so just tell me, okay?" The woman said as she caressed the boy's back to comfort him.

Ryo felt a little awkward from being carried by a woman. The woman placed him back down on the bed and adjusted the pillows to his comfort. He pursed his lips for a while then opened his mouth to speak.

"Please hand me a mirror." He said politely at the woman who is probably the mother of the boy his soul is in.

The woman snapped her fingers and a mirror appeared in front of him out of nowhere. He didn't have the mind to marvel at this magical movement at the moment as he gazed at the little boy reflected by the mirror.

Black soft curls of hair crowned his head, doe ruby moist eyes along with a curved up long eyelashes amplified his cuteness, and pinkish small lips opened in awe. He looks so cute he had a momentary impulse to squish his face and relish on how lovely and soft his features looked. It was only natural since he was just 10 years old, at least his body is.

According to the memories he inherited, he and his family were vampires and that this is like a fantasy world. There were different races such as vampires, werewolves, elves, dwarves, mermaids, angels, demons, magicians, etc. There's also monsters here and they ran amok when not tended to.

The woman beside him was the boy's mother, Katsumi Drusilla Katherine Bathory-Cassius. A very beautiful woman with a long ass name. She has a black wavy hair that reaches down to her buttocks when let down. He inherited his beautiful ruby colored eyes from her. She was a tall woman that it amplified her intimidating aura, coupled with her cold expressionless face. She was a marchioness until she married his father. She only showed gentle looks to her children and husband.

His father's name is Damien Lazarus Stefan Cassius who is a Duke. He's a very talented and dashing man. The kind of handsome that could make anybody saw him swoon and drop their undergarments and willingly open their legs wide for him. He was a cold man, both literally and figuratively. Beneath the cold exterior though was a head over heels man to his wife and a loving father to his children.

These people really couldn't be judged by it's cover. This boy have an elder brother that's overly suspicious of him usurping his inheritance to be the next duke. Although they weren't exactly enemies, they don't treat each other as brothers, causing distress for their parents. The sibling relationship was colder than the North Pole.

His brother's name is Rei Henrick Vlad Cassius who was just 17 this year. He inherited their father's long silver hair and purple eyes. He was a gifted boy and because of that he was arrogant but at least he could back it up with his talent.

They used to be close when they were younger until Rei reached the age of 10, that's when their relationship drifted so far away. The boy doesn't know why his elder brother suddenly alienated him, he waited and waited for his brother to reach out to him again but after a few years of waiting, he finally realized that his brother changed. Causing loss and sadness on the boy. So when his older brother was determined to avoid him, he started hating the older brother he used to idolize. It was really sad.

Ryo sighed and recalled the boy's name. They have the same first name but different surname. His name is Ryo Atanasius Conrad Cassius. It was so familiar to him not because he found out about it in the memories of the boy. Instead, it felt like he knew this name prior to this incident. He just can't recall exactly where he heard the name.

Was it the name of a celebrity? No, not really.

Then a character in a book? Nah, nope.

He vaguely felt that it's somehow related to his sister. Something that she probably recommended. He was starting to connect the dots when suddenly his mother spoke, interrupting his thoughts.

"Ryo, what's wrong?" Katsumi asked worriedly when the kid was silent for too long after looking at his reflection in the mirror.

"Nothing, okaa-san. I was just deeply immersed in my own thoughts." Ryo said politely as he shyly peeked at his beautiful mother.

This lovely sight reduced the woman's heart into a puddle causing her to hug her son. He was just too cute. A small part at the very back of her mind was proud at giving birth to such an outstanding offspring.

"Don't worry, your oto-san and onii-san will come visit you later. You know how busy your oto-san can be. Your onii-san is busy at the academy too." Katsumi said as she tried to comfort her son, thinking that his originally noisy and naughty son was very silent at the moment because of the absence of his oto-san and onii-san even though he just went through the harsh ceremony.

Which was a total misunderstanding. The current Ryo doesn't give two shits about other people's presence as he couldn't accept this kind of situation yet. Everything was just too sudden. One moment he was just living normally then after stepping on shit he suddenly woke up in this strange world. He knows he's not dreaming because he already hurt himself right after he opened his eyes to confirm that everything he's looking at is real.

He was still thinking about the memories he inherited and about this strange world that he forgot to reply to his okaa-san. This caused another misunderstanding that distressed the mother beside him. Thinking that her precious boy is probably distressed assuming that his family is indifferent to him.

Vampires below the age of 10 are extremely fragile beings. They're as weak as human beings who don't have any magic power or super strength. If they were exposed to sunlight, they would immediately be burned to ashes. That's why every vampire that reached the age of 10 was required to undergo the ceremony to get their bodies evolved so that they would no longer fear the sun, no longer be affected by holy water, and other small weaknesses.

Although the gain was worth it, the process was extremely dangerous and agonizing to the point that it already killed several young vampires. Those that couldn't survive through the whole process were considered weak and unworthy to be a vampire. The deaths were just a small number. Like 2/10 is the possibility that a kid would fail the ceremony.

The only thing that could kill them after they successfully pass the ceremony is either their hearts be pulverized or have their hearts embedded by anything that contains silver. Oh and apparently, a werewolf's fangs could also hurt them. It's not an easy task since after this ceremony, their body's physique would be greatly enhanced and their hearts would harden. As hard as Tungsten on earth. That's why this ceremony is a must to every vampire out there.

When vampires just recovered from the harsh trials of the ceremony, they're extremely sensitive and vulnerable. Their emotions are fragile for a few hours so within those hours they should be carefully tended to. In their vulnerable hours, they should also be well protected because they could easily be provoked or influenced that could be harmful to them or to those around them. Usually, the mother would be the only one to tend to the vulnerable vampire but if she's not available, a highly trusted nanny or aide would take this task.

Katsumi, who doesn't really have enough knowledge at comforting people was distressed but she could only hug her son to placate his "depression" and thought up of what kind of punishments she would do to her busy husband and then reprimand her eldest son.

A/N:

Bocchan: It's generally translated as "young master" because it's frequently used by maids and butlers in anime to refer to a boy they serve, but it can also refer to a "wealthy boy," a "naive boy," just a random "boy," or someone else's "kid."

Okaa-san: the simplest and most polite version of the word. It can be used to address or refer to one's own mother or to another person's mother.

Oto-san: the more formal and appropriate way of saying the word "father".

Onii-san: used when you adress your brother in a more respectful manner.
