When Makai and I were eating breakfast that next morning, there was a knock on the door. A quick look through the peephole revealed that it was Doc who had come over for an unannounced visit.

"Hey Doc." I called out to him as I opened the door.

"Is something wrong?" Makai, beginning to be the pessimist now that so many bad things had happened, asked him worriedly.

"No, nothing is wrong." Doc smiled at us. "I just thought that you would like to move onto the next phase of the search for your father." He was looking at me when he said that. "I know that we will be busy with court in the coming weeks, so I wanted to take care of this as soon as possible. So, I brought over my computer and my friend's credentials for the government databases."

"And what friend would that be?" I asked him as I laughed. Of course, Doc would have someone to help him with this part of the search. He had connections everywhere.
