Chapter 1: Unknown artist
" grrring" the bell rang and class was over.
I had been day dreaming since, I didn't even hear what the history teacher was saying.
It's been a hard time for me since my parents got separated. I still remembered that day so vividly, mum packed her load to leave the house just because she thought Dad was not responsible and can't cater for you needs. I was just looking at how everything was going on, Dad begging mum to stay but she was so keen on leaving with a Rich guy, Ray.
" Come on Belle, let's go" mum said
I had to make a decision at that moment, I was actually odd from the family. I looked so much like Dad, mum was white and dad was black and I was brown skinned, while my siblings were white. My hair was full, and brown, while my siblings were blonde just like mum. I was the middle child, my elder sinking were twins, Brian and Brianna and my younger siblings were also twin, Bianca and Bose. You know mum was also a twin, looking at this differences I thought following mum would just bring questions like
"where you adopted?"
And besides I hated that Ray guy, so I stood by Dad
" Belle, let's go" mum said but I shooked my head holding dad's leg.
" Fine, stay with him." Mum said before leaving with my siblings
Dad sat there sulking, or crying. I went to the kitchen to bring a glass of water.
" Here," I said giving him the cup, he drank out of it and dropped it on the table. He looked at me in the eyes and saw his mistake, he was too distant from the family all these while.
He picked me up and made me a promise that day.
" I'll be a good father to you and I'll make sure you don't lack anything" he said and he fufilled his promise. He worked very hard and also spent quality time with me. I know you will be wondering how that is possible, well he dress me up for school and drops me off. Afterwards he picks me up and takes me to his office, he helps me with my homework, we'll eat then I'll play and sleep and when dad is done he'll take me home.
That was eleven years ago, I'm fifteen now and dad has made it big. He has is own entertainment industry now.
Well, back to the present. I was back from my thought,when the bell rang.
" Hey, let's go to cafeteria" Jason my male best friend said
" Are you coming?" Bethany my female best friend asked
" No, I'm feeling heavy. I'll pass" I said
" Alright" Sandra said holding Jason's hand as they left
I placed my head on the table, looking outside the window to the sun and then a ball came in through the window.
"I'm sorry about that" a guy said approaching to take the ball.
" It's okay, " I said as I gave him the ball
" Thanks" he said leaving
I was a rich and popular girl in school, and I was smart, good in basketball and swimming. My life was good and I never for one regretted following Dad. But I don't know something just seem a bit of nowadays. I'm not happy as before and I don't know why I just feel used to everything, I needed something new.
I stood up and walked around class before going to the hallway. I was heading to the cafeteria when I heard some sound from the store room.
I peeped through the door and I saw a guy trying to take some packs from the upper shelve.
" Need some help?" I asked
" A little, if you don't mind" he said and I helped him bring some down.
" Where are you taking all these stuffs" I asked
" To the staff room, for the history teacher" he said
" Let me help, I said helping him with one pack
" So are you new around here?" I asked as we walked to the staff room.
" Not exactly, I came in few months ago" he said
" Oh, I've never seen you around" I said
" I've seen you a lot of times" he said chuckling
" What's funny?" I asked confused
" I'm just remembering the first time I saw you, you were talking to a bird I drew" he said
" So you were the unknown artist, I was asking the bird who was so heartless to draw it and leave it there on the garden bench" I said
" I didn't leave it there, my ink got dried so I went to get a bit of water" he said
" I still have your bird with me, I'll bring it tomorrow" I said
" No need, you can keep it" he said
" You said first time, when was the second?" I asked and he chuckled
" When you mistakenly spoilt the vending machine and then it was bringing out everything in it and the students were thanking you for free stuffs" he said
" I still don't get why they think I paid for those" I said laughing
" The third time was when you were sleeping in the library, using a big book to cover up that no one actually caught you" he said
" I was tired of the librarian lecture" I said as we entered the staff room. Everyone has gone for lunch break so no one was there. We dropped it and left.
" Another time was when you were crying about you losing the basketball match" he said
" So you were the one who dropped that letter. It really multivated me" I said
" And also the time you took my drawing of Beth" he said
" You drew that, it's awesome" I said
" Yeah, she's awesome" he said
" Uh, I think someone got a crush" I said
" No, I just admire her" he said
" I've heard" I said
" It's Will by the way"
" Belle" I said
" I know, everyone in the school knows you" he said
" Not those sides you've seen. Nice knowing you" I said stretching my hand out for an handshake.
