Chapter 2: Funny Experience
When Zero reached the top of staircase leading to the rooftop , the door leading outside was spotted and with no hesitation , Zero kicked it open and rushed through it , closing it quickly so the sound doesn't travel through the empty hallways.
"I should be safe for now until the main characters arrive but do I really need them to survive? Should I save the other one or kill him? The plot armor would be in effect I guess." Zero wondered if he should just kill the ones who arrive on the rooftop when the zombie infection spreads around the Academy.
Zero subconsciously didn't think that killing was wrong because in his past life , if killing was wrong then isn't everyone murderers? Since humans kill animals , why can't humans kill humans?
This kind of thinking caused Zero to be outcasted from groups in school and even his own family didn't think that his understanding of life was right.
Since then , he has been a loner who just enjoys his days doing nothing but reading novels and watching anime until he gets bored. It was not like he couldn't get a satisfactory job or something , he was a really smart-ass in school until graduation and could devoid himself from emotion to deal with the rumors that people might say about him.
"Should I test my shadow Manipulation skill?" Zero raised his right palm upwards , bringing it towards his face , stopping at his chest and willed shadows to form on top of it.
A black swirl of energy formed on top of his palm and a silver light glimmered around it faintly like a rare jewel.
The swirl transformed into a ball after 2 seconds and stopped at that.
"Is this all I can do at my current level?" Zero wondered because his Shadow Manipulation was level 1. He concluded that if his Shadow Manipulation reached Level 2 , he could do more with it. "Seems I'll have to train with it. From my understanding , I can only make small objects , if so , I'll be creating needles so that I can easily pierce zombie's bodies."
After that initial thought , he released the swirl of shadows in his palm and it disappeared immediately. When Zero wanted to look over down the academy , a audible scream was heard.
"I guess they're in the academy now. They should also be here by n-" Before he could finish his words , Zero heard a bang by the rooftops entrance and saw 3 people appearing. He knew who they were and didn't make much of an reaction but just stared at them until the only girl in the group of 3 spoke.
"Who are you?" The one who spoke was Rei Miyamoto , one of the leading heroines in the anime. Although she had a meaningful appearance , Zero didn't take notice of it since he didn't really care about it and quickly dismissed her question with wave of his hand.
"No questions need to be asked. Just don't talk or you will attract them." Zero stated with a hint of dismal that showed that he didn't want to be bothered.
"The hell do you think you are!?" The boy left towards Rei , who had black hair resembling spiky thorns unkept , with a frustrated facial expression. This boy was Komuro Takashi , the leading protagonist of the world in the anime. Zero never thought that he was a reliable partner since all he could do was moan about being lonely and thinking to eagerly in the series until his plot armor activated later on in the anime.
"Didn't I say that you should keep your mouth shut?" Zero was annoyed that Komuro still went on and shouted when he already gave them a warning.
All of them then kept quite due to knowing what's going on. Zero walked over to the fence surrounding the rooftop and looked down to see a swarm of zombies either gruesomely ravage the students and teachers or breaking down building sectors around the Academy.
"Hey , um..." The other boy who was not Komuro decided to talk but he whispered remembering to keep his voice down.
"It's Zero." Zero looked towards Hisashi Igō who was only a side character in the anime. Although Zero didn't like him because of his weak minded nature , he still thought of him as an easy going guy.
"Oh , Zero , can you tell us what's happening?" Hisashi tried to understand what's going on but to no avail did he come up with anything.
Zero who looked at him said only two things. "Zombie Apocalypse." When Zero said those words , the three of them stood with a dazed facial expression and until Rei decided to speak.
"Does it mean the world is going to end?" Still not clear about the situation , Rei asked Zero.
"Probably." Zero shrugged his shoulders. "I know it's hard to believe but if you don't , you can go down the stairs and get bitten by a zombie and see if it's real or not." Zero didn't mind if all the characters relating to the anime dies , he has no attachments to them so who are they to him? Strangers? That's the closet Zero could summarize about their relationship.
"Bitten?" Hisashi asked since he was bitten by a zombie while trying to escape with Rei and Komuro.
Zero then remembered that Hisashi was supposed to die on the rooftop with a swing from Komuro's bat that he was holding. Zero looked towards Komuro and saw that he indeed held a bat in his hand.
"You got bitten?" Zero asked with a monotone voice that sounded like he didn't need an answer to it.
Hisashi who was nervous all of a sudden replied. "Y-yes."
"Well , your fucked. Since your gonna turn into a zombie now." When Zero pointed out that he would turn into a zombie , Hisashi started sweating rapidly.
"Z-zombie? Will Hisashi turn into a zombie!?" Rei , who was Hisashi's girlfriend , exclaimed loudly which attracted the attention of zombies that were near the staircase.
"Congratulations idiot , you've just put us in danger." Zero eyes Rei with a dissatisfied look in his eyes and reverted his attention back to Hisashi.
"I know you don't wanna become a zombie so you should commit suicide while you have a chance." Zero said to Hisashi with a narrow glance.
"Suicide?" Hisashi started thinking about his life and couldn't believe that his life would end here. His only decision was if he would die human or zombie.
"Yes , you don't wanna become a zombie and attacks your friends , right?" Under Zero's mask , he was showing a light smirk that could misinterpreted as many things.
"No , he can't die!" Rei shouted again which caused the zombies to locate them even faster.
"Rei...." Komuro , who was standing beside Rei had a bitter taste in his mouth. Because of the past they had , he knew he couldn't butt in.

Hisashi didn't take long with his decision and replied to Zero. "I would like to die as a human with my emotions still with me." When he said those words , he looked towards Rei and he could see that she started tearing up until streaks of tears were seen erupting. "Rei , it's gonna be okay." He tried to comfort her but it wasn't working.
"Okay? No , it's not! I don't want you to die. Please don't die. Please." Rei begged but suddenly , Hisashi skin started to transform and a loud shout was heard from him. The process of becoming a zombie was much more painful than the original anime since the timeline is different.
"No!" Rei screamed loudly and tried to hug Hisashi but was stopped by Komuro. "Leave me alone!" Rei tried to free herself from him but couldn't muster any strength to do so.
"Komuro , could you...kill me please." Hisashi , whose half of his body was transformed , told Komuro to kill him since his the only one with a weapon.
"Hisashi...." Komuro felt conflicted , he didn't want to kill his friend but also didn't want anyone to be injured. He held onto his bat tighter and looked towards Hisashi.
"Oh , is the fun gonna start?" Zero thought while looking at Komuro with a pitiful look since he knew what will come next after he decides to kill Hisashi.
(Author here , I'm not gonna mention how Hisashi looks because who recognizes a dead man?)
