Irene looked at Liz who was curled up on the floor. She thought how Max must be desperate and helpless and she chuckled. Ah, she waited for this for a long time!

Irene wondered if Max is regretting how he treated her while she was in the Alpha Group.

She remembered the first day she appeared in front of him. It was at the party and Max was announced as the next CEO. The image of him gaping at her like he saw a ghost was still vivid in her mind. That same evening they had a private dinner where he ignored her. That was the first time she saw Liz. At first, Irene thought that Max was playing only to get even with her because she dumped his sorry ass all those years ago, but in time she realized that Max moved on. How did she lose her power over Max? Irene was not sure.
