Chapter 11: Chapter 9
Alex's first morning at his new apartment was disturbed by the loud banging at his door followed by a phone call asking him to open up immediately.
The Omega just walked out of his room unbothered at the urgency in the caller's tone. He took his time and just opened the door with a loud yawn. He half expected this from happening anyway.
"What took you so long. I've been knocking on your door for more than ten minutes." Complained by the man as soon as he entered the apartment.
Alex stared at the handsome features of the man in front him, his furrowed brows and annoyed expression cannot mask his gorgeous face. He couldn't help but smile as he knows no matter how much this guy scolds him, he knows that he cannot stay mad at him. He loves him too much and would give him anything he wants.
"What the hell are you smiling for huh?" Alex scrunched his nose as the man pinched it.
"Ouch Matty! Leave my nose alone!" He pulls away from his brother and massages his nose while glaring at Matt, who just laughed.
Matt just finds his reaction adorable and pat the younger's head in response. "Your hair is getting longer. Why not cut it?" Matt said, touching Alex's ponytail. Being an Omega Alex has a very feminine face, having his shoulder length hair added to his attractiveness which makes Matt proud and annoyed at the same time. He never stops bragging about his pretty Omega brother but gets annoyed when someone tries to flirt with Alex. For Matt, his little brother is too precious for the likes of normal Alpha and Beta. Besides he still sees Alex as his kid brother, he'll not allow anyone to take him away. Maybe when Alex's forty he'll let him get married.
"I'll allow it when you're forty." Alex glares at his brother not understanding what he meant, they were just talking about his hair, what's he being forty years old got to do with it?" He decides to just ignore his brother's nonsense and starts to prepare breakfast for the two of them. Matt is probably hungry and had no time to properly eat a meal during his duty.
When Matt noticed that Alex was leaving him in the living room, he finally remembered why he went straight from the hospital to his younger brother's place. Alex's scream when Matt pulled his ponytail. "You stupid brat! How can you schedule your moving in on the day I have a duty at the hospital. You know I have a schedule on Thursday."
Alex retaliated and stepped on Matt's foot, Matt's hair pulling stunt is actually not that painful, his foot probably hurt more, but that's just the way they banter with each other. Maybe that's one of the reasons he's not cutting his hair short. He likes it when Matt pulls his hair, he would sometimes pretend it hurts so bad and would make his older brother follow his orders. Not that Matt is not spoiling him enough.
"Coz I know you would be so overbearing and so annoying. You stupid older brother!" Alex replied, sticking out his tongue as he ran to the kitchen laughing loudly at his brother.
Matt just shook his head and threw his lab coat at the sofa. "Brat wake me up after three hours." He called out to Alex, he kicked his shoes and lay down on the sofa. He's freakin tired from yesterday's duty, he hasn't slept for more than twenty hours, adding in two emergency delivery operations that he assisted last night. It didn't take him long to enter the dream world.
Alex was not surprised when he found Matt snoring at the sofa, he tried to wake him and ask him to sleep on the bed. The couch is a bit small for his brother's broad frame, but the man is dead to the world. So Alex just went to get him a blanket and just leave him to get some rest. He also starts picking up the things Matt left. His brother is the messiest person he knows, which is a wonder how he can become a doctor with how messy he is in his daily life. His shoes are on the floor, which he thinks Matt just kicked without care. His lab coat was most likely thrown at the sofa, his necktie too.
To Alex, Matt is one of the most important people in his life aside from their parents. He doesn't remember much of his childhood, he was told that he was in an accident before and that he got some sort of amnesia. He remembered those times that he would wake up screaming at night that not even their parents can't come near him. It was always Matt who comforted him, he didn't get tired even when he wasn't talking after his accident. It was Matt who patiently taught him when he needed to take an equivalency test since they said the school won't accept him if he can't prove he can understand middle school level because of his amnesia. *In reality he needed to take the exam because he has no school records.*
Matt would drop everything and anything for Alex, his baby brother is his top priority which made some of his exes annoyed. Some though tried to get close to Alex to gain favor for him, but breaks up with him nonetheless when they realize they can't compete with his brother.
Three hours had passed, Alex unpacked his remaining stuff and was about to wake up Matt so they could have a meal together. He just went out of the room when he heard his brother arguing with someone on the phone.
"I'm at my brother's place. What do you mean why? You know I've been anxious since yesterday." Matt argued with the other person. Alex knew it must be his brother's current girlfriend. "Why should I have to ignore my brother's safety just to meet your friend who wants to confirm that you are really dating an Alpha, do you know how ridiculous that sounds?" Matt screamed making Alex's cringe, his brother would probably be breaking up with that Beta soon. Him and their mom don't like that girl, they can tell that she's just dating Matt because of his Alpha status.
"Damn it!" Matt cursed as he ended the call. It's probably time to break up with her. He thought she might be the one, she's a Beta and a doctor as well. She was nice with Alex before. He heard a chuckle from behind him and saw Alex's amuse face who's unaffected with his furrowed brows. Alex asked him to come and eat just as his stomach growls which made them laugh.
"What's your plan after this?" Matt asked. His brother might be living alone now, but it doesn't stop them to check where he's going and who he should meet.
"I'm just meeting Dan later, we'll go to the library to submit our request for the internship." Alex answered.
Matt nodded his approval for him to meet Dan. He knows Dan, he's been Alex 's friend since middle school. They were classmates since middle school and even went to the same college and took the same course. If the boy is not an Omega he wouldn't be allowed to be this close to Alex.
"Wanna come with me and meet up with Dan for a while?" Alex asked. He hasn't stopped matching his best friend and his brother. It would be perfect if they would fall in love with each other. But unfortunately, they don't see each other romantically.
Matt left to rest further at his own pad and get ready for his afternoon duty as well. But he didn't leave until giving out a lot of reminders for Alex.

"Let's go dumbass!" Keith called out to the man who's sprinting to his car. He came to pick up this annoying best friend of his.
"Hello, how are you? I'm fine, thanks for picking me." His friend responded mockingly and then greeted his driver cum bodyguard normally.
"Why do I have to pick you up anyway?" Keith complained, but his friend just shrugged in response. He actually didn't know they were picking up Jules but apparently this annoying guy directly contacted his driver Martin. They were heading to Chad's place for their get together. Chad is the other friend who completed their trio. They have been friends since they were four years old.
"Hey Martin, can you pull up for a minute down there at the convenience store." Jules instructed the driver. He got out of the car and dragged Keith with him.
"The hell man, am I your bodyguard?" Keith complained, this idiot wanted to buy ice cream and had to drag him out of the car. He just crossed his elbow and waited for Jules to get his ice cream.
Keith was just standing there annoyed at waiting for Jules when he suddenly smelled something sweet just as the door chimed, signalling someone entering or leaving the store. He breathes in and inhales the intoxicating sweet smell that calms him down. He was about to search for the source of the smell but he can't find it anymore, he can only sense a faint sweet scent making him want for more.
He scowled at Jules who interrupted him to say that they could go. He wanted to search more. He wants to smell it more.

"Hey are you okay?" Dan asked Alex who seemed to be having difficulty breathing. "Should we call Matty?" Dan suggested, worried at the sudden change in Alex just as they were leaving from the convenience store.
"Don't call him. Give me a minute I'll be fine." Alex rejected Dan's suggestion of calling his brother. He knows if Matt learned about this, he will kiss his freedom goodbye. He can't let that happen, classes haven't even started yet and he will be dragged back to their parents' home if his brother knows.
Honestly Alex doesn't even know what happened. He was just there at the convenience store for a second to pick up Dan, then he was suddenly hit with this aromatic smell he hasn't smelled before, making him dizzy and intoxicated. He felt hot for a moment, making it hard for him to breath. Not that he's mentioning that to Dan, his friend might not believe him anyway. Besides, he's already starting to feel better the more they walk far from that convenience store.
