Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Brother and Sister Enter Last

Naomi's P.O.V

"Are you okay," Stephan asked as I watched Sammy and Zoë talk

I nodded, "Just scared," I began, "I don't like the feeling this Chaos gives off and I hesitate to go in there hoping no one dies."

"No one is going to die," Stephan began, "at least I hope not."

"Very comforting," I said shooting a glare at Stephan

He backed up a little bit, "Hey comforting people was never my strong suit so you can't blame me. I was the one who was usually comforted," he paused, "we have to learn more about ourselves. I just realized we haven't talked much since either of us got here. Hades," he breathed as he looked at the couple, "now that I think about it the person that I've talked to the most was dad and Zoë. They gave me the gist of everything concerning our older sister but I feel like it would be best to hear her story from the source."

I nodded, "The thing that makes me uncomfortable, however," I began as I looked back at Naomi. "When dad came to get me, I heard a voice in my head that never spoke since then," I paused. "I thought it was my imagination but when she appeared in front of dad, Chiron, and I; my heart skipped a beat."

"You're not saying," Stephan began once I finished letting his question hand in the air

"It's a possibility that our enemy is punishing her for something that happened in her past while having me be her host," I paused as I looked at him plastering a smile. "But we'll get to talk to them after that, right little bro?"

Stephan chuckled, "You got that right sis," he began with a smirk, "Hey you two going to give those two lovebirds some space."

"In a bit, Bianca and I need to talk about something," Thalia answered as she grabbed her sister's wrist

I smiled genuinely, "Don't be too long, you'll miss all the fun," I said before throwing up the peace sign

"We don't plan on it," I heard Thalia say as Stephan and I walked through the portal

"Promise we'll talk more after this," he asked as his protective grip on my hand weakened

"I promise," I breathed once his hand left mine and I was alone in the darkness. "I was just getting used to this life," I whispered as I let my fears take over me, "why does this have to happen now?"

"This life is very unpredictable," Chaos's voice began causing my head to snap up from my hands and face the darkness. "I honestly wish everyone here hadn't faced any trauma then it would be a lot easier to train you."

"If you're here to try and turn me that's not going to happen," I began as I walked into the darkness, my thumb resting on the ring to bring up my bow. "Where are you?"

"You didn't even let me finish my offer," he began behind me making me spin the ring and draw the string back so an arrow was pointing at his face

"You won't even need to start," I growled as the feathers of the arrow touched my cheek, "I am not joining you no matter what you say."

"Just at least keep this in mind Valdez," he began his gaze glaring daggers at me, "one has already tentatively accepted my offer. I just need them to give me the word."

With that, he disappeared as I felt a cloud lifted from me, whether be stress or a scent blocker I don't know because the next thing I knew hellhounds snarled in the distance. I climbed up the hill lighting the arrowhead on fire before firing it into the distance illuminating thousands of monsters barreling toward me. I readied my stance and started firing them speeding up as more and more appeared in the circle of light around me. Eventually, I summoned a ring of fire that burned them as they walked through either killing them or weakening them. Sooner rather than later I was surrounded by a circle of gold dust catching my breath as I waited for the next monster to appear. It did appear but it walked through the fire as if it didn't faze them, I readied my bow and arrow as I watched the figure walk toward me

"I wouldn't release that arrow if I were you," Stephan's voice said resonating in my head

"Then come into the light so I can see you," I said through gritted teeth ready to release the arrow at a moment's notice

The monster said nothing else as I saw red eyes and the figure rushing toward me. "You shall die," the monster growled before I released the arrow into the monster's skull causing it to add to the golden pile around me but it was closer to me than the rest

Suddenly I fell to the ground, groaning in pain as my lungs and arms burned in pain. I willed the winds to blow faster thinking I was suffocating but as I took a breath I realized it was all pain. I tried to figure out where it came from until I looked at my arms noticing the spiral burn marks on them running up to my neck as if they were ripped off. "What the," I said as I touched them, wincing at the pain that flared from the light touch. "Did he have to," I asked myself as I looked at the falling dust before passing out due to exhaustion

Stephan's P.O.V

Thoughts ran through my head as I felt Naomi's hand leave mine and I took in the area. "Why do you feel like opening up to that Jackson than your sisters," a voice echoed around me as I took in the dark room the fire licking at my wrists

"That is none of your concern," I growled as I tried to find the source, "show yourself."

"If you insist," Chaos began in front of me, "I have a proposition- "

"I don't want to hear it," I growled interrupting the fake creator, "you're the cause of all of this mess. You're the cause of my older sister dying, you're the cause of us being separated from birth and our mothers placed in their head. You are the cause of all this pain," I finished with yet another growl

The fake creator only sighed, "Fine," he began, "I get the hint but may I ask how you figured this out?"

"There's this book I found long ago," I began, "it explains the true lineage of immortal beings in Greek and Roman history and it includes that the creator is not male but female having a brother whose goal is to watch everything burn. Fortunately for you, it was lost somewhere in my moves but I hope to find it once again to prove to the camps who you truly are."

"I believe that book burned with a good portion of your sister's remains as she spoke of a book similar to that," the man who I now label as End began. "It's unfortunate that both of you will have to die before the end of this war."

"Why kill me when the whole camp has come to that consensus," I began with a smirk, "why are you even thinking of killing Sammy again? You already know what's going to happen when you do."

End smirked as his eyes changed to purple, "Oh, but I have a plan for that," I said with a smirk, "best of luck to you Mr. Valdez."

Once he left I felt something being lifted off my shoulder making the load a little lighter as I clenched my fists as I watched the darkness. Once the first monster came I willed the flames to follow my hands as if they were whips tearing apart each monster as anger fueled me. I soon found myself on fire, fighting all of the monsters as they tried to best me in this war. My anger directed me through the hoard as I soon found that there were none left. I sighed as I let the flames die down, I looked into the darkness before hurling a fireball in front of me so it ignited my path. A lone figure stood in the distance watching it before walking to me.

The looks match Naomi and her frizzy curly hair as she walked but something was off. "What are you doing here," I asked as the light from the fireball died down as if it burned out

"Why to see how you're doing bro," a voice began almost mimicking my sister's voice but not enough

"You're not her," I began as I took my stance, my eyes widened as I felt something rush through the wall of wind that I set in place. I dove out of the way as an arrow embedded itself into the ground. "I don't want to hear anything else from you," I growled as I heard it try to speak in the barrier drawing out all the air and grabbing the monster's arms with my whips. I watched as the monster suffocated with its arms burning until it disintegrated at my feet. I screamed in rage as my head started throbbing in pain. I didn't need to see the scar on my forehead to know that she had to go through a similar fight. "Throw whatever you want End, I will take you down no matter what you do," I growled as I ran into the darkness after throwing another fireball into it seeing the monsters I was about to run into

Third Person P.O.V

As the legacies fought the forces of evil their parents and all the counselors discussed their options with the threat and the news that the eldest Valdez had bestowed upon them.

"I don't want to take them out of there if it winds up in Sammy's death," Leo muttered, "I believe Cal would strangle me."

"Why don't you ask me yourself Repair Boy," the ghostly form of Calypso asked making everyone jump

"Cal," Annabeth began as some of the chairs in the rec room were readjusted from the scare. "I thought you were with Sammy, is she dead?"

Calypso shrugged, "I'm not sure," she began, "the last thing I saw was them walking into some portals in the middle of the forest then I'm here listening and talking to you."

"Annabeth," Percy began, "have you tried to contact Zoë since this morning?"

Annabeth shook her head, "No I haven't," she began, "I haven't even been able to look at what's going on since she was being told about Sammy's curse."

"I don't see how End can force the Fates hand with something like that," Nico began, "only my father and the creator can do that; what's making them go this route?"

"Nico think of it this way," Frank began, he and Renya had arrived to help us figure out everything but it only ended up in more confusion. "They are pretty much the Doctor Strange of this world, they know every outcome and if they may not like it they have to go with the best possible one."

"But they aren't in charge of our lives," Nico began, "yeah they may ween down our options or give us time to figure things out but they don't make decisions for us."

"He's right," Renya began, "just because they may be the Doctor Strange of this world does not mean that they can do whatever they want to change the future. The Fates intervening is a once-in-a-lifetime event and they haven't done so in over a millennium unless the writings list more."

Annabeth huffed as she threw herself into the chair behind her, "Cal," she began with an idea, "do you remember where this portal was in the forest?"

Calypso nodded, "It's closer to Bunker 9 if my memory serves me correctly," she began. "It closed when the two lovebirds walked through but I believe there can be a trace left behind."

"Lead the way then," Percy began bolting out of the seat earning a glare from most of the table. "What, the sooner we get them out the better right?"

"Didn't you forget the whole Sammy dying and residing in Naomi's head until Nico and his father figure something out, Jackson," Leo began. "I don't want to lose my daughter again and I'm pretty sure you'd rather not see your daughter in that much pain again."

"Besides," Annabeth began, "Sammy made us promise to not pull them out unless we absolutely need them in case that happens."

"So, we wait," Percy asked as Annabeth shook her head, "what do we do?"

"We go to the sight of the portals and begin our research on End and his magic," she began, "we also have to prepare the camp for anything that he may throw at us."

The whole room groaned aside from Calypso and Renya, "I'll get Camp Jupiter to assist you in the research and preparations Annabeth. I believe we need as many people as we can get," she informed causing Annabeth to smile tiredly

"I think," Calypso began, "all of you should get some rest before you dive into all that work. You need to be at your full potential for this sort of research," she finished.

Everyone nodded in agreement before dispersing leaving only Annabeth and Percy there to think. "Why couldn't they have a normal life," Percy muttered as his wife stood up out of her chair

"I figured their life wouldn't be normal," Annabeth began, "but I didn't think that it would be as wild as ours."

"I mean they are legacies of heroes who saved the world twice," Percy began with a shrug, "that I can understand but this is too much."

Annabeth smirked, "Go blow off some steam Seaweed Brain," she began, "I'm turning in for the night."

"Night Wise Girl," he said pecking her on the cheek before disappearing

Annabeth sighed before walking out of the Big House and looking into the sky, "I hope some of you can help us," she said, sending a mental prayer up to Olympus before going to her cabin and sleeping.
